    Deli corner - happening place!
    Eric K.

I noticed this nice corner grocery store on a visit to my buddy who lives nearby and I couldn't believe I never saw it all these years of visiting him! He told me that this place, which is literally diagonally across from his place, was a true life-saver during Covid lockdown. I was getting a bit hungry and saw that they had sign for lunch specials, so figured that they should have some sort of prepared foods, though my friend wasn't sure they did. Well, I'm so glad I stopped by. Not only did they have food, they had a full deli which had 3-4 customers waiting in line (it was like 6pm on a Wednesday), many salad and platter food packaged to go, small case of meat that looked high quality, cheeses and cold cut corner, and many eclectic items you'd see from those international grocery stores. The vibe was that of a happening neighborhood gourmet supermarket, with that slightly crowded but familiar warm vibe. It was bright and clean, with good service from energetic people. There were only 2 cashiers so I waited in one of the two queues which had about 3 people each... so considering it was right around dinner time it wasn't too bad. I picked up a nice brie on discount for mere $5, a rather expensive but good-looking cranberry chicken salad wrap ($8.95), and a case of White Claw spiked seltzer (12-pack) for $19.99. $19.99?! Holy molly that's expensive! Comparing prices, it was about $3-6 more than Target or Walmart online, but I went with it anyway. A star deducted for being pricey overall. The wrap which I promptly opened up in the car cuz I was starving, was VERY good. Wrap was chewy and not at all dry, and the cranberry chicken salad tasted fresh, not overly sweet or salty and was a LOT more filling than they looked! They even provide little cup of crispy peanuts & dried cranberries on the side. I bought this as a snack and it ended up just becoming my dinner. Wow, I'm impressed, little wrap. I can see why my buddy loves this place. He'll be very sad to move next month, and so will I.

Their catering "half" tray. Fleecing customers.

Buyer beware the catering menu. Ridiculouss prices. Paid 80 bucks for simple pasta and coffee. 20 dollars worth of food. Not worth it. Purchased from them many times in the past, but things have changed. Never again. PS - Told the manager my concerns. They charged a different price for the coffee than what's on the menu (and tried to fight me on why he was somehow still justified) - refunded me the diff. Then on the boiled pasta for 50 bucks, basically said they have their own definition of what a half tray means in catering. They don't understand standard definitions. Employee told me pasta is 7 and change a pound. Should have been 21-28 dollars. Fleecing customers. Buyer beware.

Pretty good. Delicious side dishes. Hot dishes and chicken salad are not that good anymore. Chicken is so thick

I really liked their sandwiches but the service was so bad today that they lost me as a regular customer.

So glad that I live near this mini supermarket charm. It's clean, friendly and one of the best cold cuts and hot food and I dare say NYC.

This store used to be a Waldbaums back in the day and had been taken over by the Korean supermarket chain. It's not as big as other HMarts in the suburbs, but definitely larger than others in Flushing, so can offer a larger variety of goods. The parking lot is also not as big and is full almost all of the time, but you can also park at the parking lot of the Webster Bank next door after hours or on the street. Grab a cart and start shopping! As you enter through the automatic sliding doors, sale items like toilet paper, snacks and rice are stacked high in the vestibule. The inner door opens into the produce section with stacks of Korean pears, fresh cut fruit platters and other exotic vegetables & fruits you would not find at your local Key Food or Stop-N-Shop. The Seafood section is also unique in that they stock live exotic species like abalone, sole, Asian hairy crabs & spiny lobsters. They also have sushi grade tuna, salmon, yellowtail & other sushi favorites. The prepared foods section is where I fill up most of my cart. Marinated chicken (boneless thighs, drumsticks & tenders), ribeye bulgogi, LA kalbi, spicy pork jowl & belly are available to take home straight to your stove or grill. The banchan section is extensive and takes up an entire wall of refrigerated cases as well as some in the aisles. If you don't even want to cook, get some hot prepared meals or something from the food court counter. Remember that the pre-packaged hot foods are 50% off after 5pm. For dessert, there is a Paris Baguette counter also. Order a custom made cake or pick up some pastries to go. If HMart were open 24 hrs, I might grab a comforter, roll myself up like a dumpling and never have to leave!

I usually go for the bugogi, which my daughter loves, and the frozen dumplings. But today, because after 5pm some prepared foods are 50% off, my brother bought 1 container of various sushi, 1 of nigiri, and 1 of BBQ ribs. I don't think you can compare this sushi with the sushi from a Japanese restaurant, but the ones that I tried were ok. Note the sushi usually comes with soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi that you can add. They also have a bakery, a loyalty program, and if you like to garden, Garden World is right next door.
