I bought the 10.99 salmon sushi box and honestly I am pretty satisfied with the quality and quantity of salmon they gave. The salmon is pretty thick, fresh and fatty. One thing I wish they improve is the rice, since it's a little hard. Decent Korean supermarket in this area, just off Northern Blvd at the border of Little Neck and Great Neck. Prices are on par with the other Asian supermarkets nearby. Pretty decent-sized with huge produce section and seafood section as well. Both times I went, there was a lady handing out samples of fish teriyaki, which of course I tried. I also saw they sell hot sweet potatoes up front. There is a section with fresh kimchi and other salads and bibimbap. We got a small size regular kimchi for $3.49 just to try - it was satisfyingly tangy and crisp. It wasn't crowded at all on the weekend, but beware the parking lot is small and can get crowded, likely due to the other stores in the shopping center. read more

I feel like if you visit any Hmart, you definitely need to dress accordingly!! Summer time requires a jacket, and winter time you always should have you coat so you won't be that cold. But they definitely do not skimp out on cranking down the temperature for their A/C, refrigerated, and frozen items. It is cold in here all the time! I guess that's a good thing right? You know their produce should be fresh because it's always kept at a cold temperature. Coming here on the weekends is always nice because there are food samples that you can try. One of the few Asian groceries open during this crisis. I think they are taking advantage because the prices of their non- perishable items are higher than the regular prices they had before. The perishable are somewhat close to the standard but noticed of course the limitations. My first time to be on this location. The smallest among the branches I had been went. Aisles are very narrow , meaning limited stocks and smaller parking spot. A disappointed visit as only few Philippines items are visible. Although it is the closest to my location, I will probably not coming back. I will go back to my go to location. During this crisis, they implementing social distancing protocol, providing gloves and wipes by entrance door and maintaining cleanliness of the store. Everything you could ever want to eat is here. I like this HMart better than the one in Flushing. The lady next to the pancakes and japchae was very nice, assisting with the bagging of your ready-made food. I also like the Beyond products, which some regular supermarkets do not even carry. Get the Cheese ramen: I saw a video on YouTube of good snacks at HMart, and the tasters recommended the cheese ramen. The cheese ramen is phenomenal. HMart carries both yellow cheese and carbonara cheese ramens. It says hot chicken flavor cheese ramen on the bag. The key is only use half or less of the hot sauce packet, add some of your own regular cheese (any kind), very little water, the cheese powder packet and add crab or Kani, or clams (in a can is ok). Cook only about two minutes for al dente noodles. OMG, it is the best ramen on earth. The only men I need is cheese ramen! read more

Don't go to any of the Hmart chain stores, we tried to exchange 1-bag of clementine (almost half rotten) but the ones at Greatneck Hmart also had pile of clementine bags in same condition. We tried to get money back but the female cashier looked at the receipt and told us to take it back to the branch we bought it from, the Hicksville Hmart. I used to think Hmart chain had standards but I have seen how corrupted they are selling bags of spoiled clementines and not accepting responsibility of Hmart chain stores by making you return it to the branch purchased. What's with the low rating here? Yes, for certain things, they are definitely pricier than other groceries/marts but it all depends on how you shop and how you look at it. We're smart shoppers and we know when we're willing to pay a little more for quality and when something doesn't need to cost a certain amount. Times are tough all around - inflation is real. And unfortunately, that effects all of us from the bottom of the chain to the top. But H-Mart is home for so many that wouldn't have access to some korean staples otherwise. This H-Mart is on the smaller side but they have everything we need. The parking lot is spacious and never packed. The store is as clean as any supermarket we'll see and you know this is true. The staff (stockers, cashiers, fish guys) are professional and courteous. Produce is fresh and better than anywhere else nearby. As is the fish, seafood and meat. But we love H-Mart because we know their products and prices well. And we know what to buy versus what to buy elsewhere. And we know that we gotta do a little work and not just resolve to complaints. H-Mart is our go-to for very korean staple items. Because for those things, it's not cheaper anywhere else. But for some produce and fruits, we may go to a Stop and Shop, Food Bazaar or a Chinese mart. We shop based on sales and quality. For fresh fish and seafood and top quality meat, H-Mart is the best but they aren't cheap on those things. But try buying Beef Short Ribs anywhere else, it just won't be the same quality as what H-Mart offers. So take things in stride and gauge your expectations, that's all! H-Mart takes pride in their goods and it shows. Every item no matter Green veggies or cookies, ramen or rice, everything is clearly labeled and meticulously organized. I don't even bother looking at the signage overhead as each aisle is just the right length where you can get a bird's eye view of what it holds. This Great Neck location is always clean and they offer food sampling stations on the weekends. This is my ideal Korean Supermarket. I wish the Chinese ones were modeled after these chains. It'd definitely appear cleaner and smells better. Not dismissing my favorite local Chinese markets but there is something to be said when selling food that is more presentable and neatly arranged. Pricing wise, H-Mart can be up there especially based on individual locations. For example, the sales flyers vary store to store so the sales are not always the same. And read the fine print, it tells you wherever the prices are specific to (locations that honor them). I also like this market for it's community involvement and social stand on issues. They run local art contests, raise money for charity, and sponsor events for causes geared to children or families in general. That says more about the brand and their mission besides being a money making machine. Kudos to them for the local sponsorship and giving back to the people. They do offer price incentives as well if you register for a frequent shopper card. I always carry mine! BTW, my favorite items to buy here are the sushi grade fish, the prepared meals that you just have to reheat, their meat section (ribs are the best) and the best part is their fish market place. A friend informed me that H Mart was selling KN-95 masks in this location so I decided to go and I was impressed of the setup at the entrance of the supermarket. When I arrived, there was hand sanitizer and disposable gloves available for customers to use to shop. The place is pretty small compared other major supermarkets. During the quarantine, I was entertaining myself with YouTube videos of recommended products to try at H Mart. Well, it turned out that the supermarket had great deals in produce items such as scallions, carrots, onions, etc. I love their marinated meats especially the pork belly. They also have a variety of ramen noodles and plethora of dumplings. I would purchase the items if it's on sale because a lot of the products are pricier than the ones in Chinese supermarkets. They had limited baked and cooked items. I didn't see any KN-95 masks in the store, but I haven't asked any staff working there because it's hard to communicate with a mask on. This is my go to Asian supermarket currently and I am motivated to try every dumpling and ramen product that is recommended by the YouTube influencers. read more

I ended up coming here after I went to H Mart for grocery shopping. I usually go to the one located in East Wilson which is close to my house however I wanted to go to the bakery. I ended up finding exactly what I wanted from this H Mart I found that this particular H Mart had more selections in terms of prepared foods like kimchi and packaged lunch that you can take to work or you can have in your fridge. I got a little hungry after grocery shopping so I went across the grocery store and I ended up taking advantage of the food options that were available. One of the things that I crave for is bento boxes I love the options the taste and the variety of what's in a Bento box. I ended up ordering the shrimp Bento box so it came with a California roll shrimp tempura and a salad I really enjoyed the bento box I felt like it was really simple it was a little pricey however I did like the little compartments in the bento box nothing was slipping or over spilling over when I was driving home so this was definitely a great spot read more

I went to this location today to exchange a bag of haru haru rice at about 7 pm. Cashier lady next to the customer service desk asked what I needed. I brought back an open bag of rice which I had purchased about 2-3 months ago. She asked if I have the receipt. I stated no and showed my rewards card to check my purchase history. She stated customer service is closed and to come back tomorrow during the day. I stated to her that I wanted to exchange the rice because it appeared to have large amounts of rat droppings inside what was a sealed bag. She said customer service closed at 5:30. I asked for a manager and she stated there were no managers. I have been shopping at Hmart locations for 15 years and we have been eating this same rice for at least 10 years. I did not take a picture of the infected rice and left it by the outside garbage for other customer to see. Horrendous customer service when all I requested was to exchange this disgusting bag of rice . I had to throw away my rice container used to hold loose rice. I have eaten rice for decades and never had an experience of black moldy rice in an unopened bag. Hmart quickly responded with a message and I contacted them as they requested . Turns out it is the same customer service in store and at the corporate level. They acknowledge you and do nothing additional . Did not even offer to replace the rancid rice. As long as you have no problems with your purchases it is ok. Warning here is that like a customer friend that was at the checkout line . He said to me they will do nothing. Probably the best place for fresh produce within a 10 mile radius (until you reach the next H Mart anyway). There is a tremendous selection of mainstream as well as hard to find fruit and vegetables. Just an awesome place to grocery shop. The prices are great too, especially for the area. However, as a result the place is always packed. Not to worry though, the lines move rather quickly so you aren't waiting very long. Many people would expect Korean super markets to be extra expensive than their competitors which is true in many ways. However, you can snag a great deal occasionally at H-Mart. First thing is first, sign up for their rewards card. Second, definitely check out what promotions they're currently running. I usually find good snacks and even some condiments at great low prices at H-Mart. One thing you should never get at H-Mart are their American brand ice cream. Stuff like Ben and Jerry's, Haagen Dazs, Breyers, etc. The promotions on those ice creams are never lower than American supermarkets. Stop and Shop for example often have 2 for $5 or 2 for $7 deals while H-Mart does 2 for $10. We also occasionally come here to get some marinated Korean short ribs from the butcher. The butcher who usually handles our order does a great job. Beef is evenly cut, marinade is pretty tasty, not too sweet, and the packaging doesn't leak. Verdict - H-Mart seems to be the king of all Korean supermarkets with good reason. Their produce and fruits always looks fresher than their competitors, their supermarkets are generally a lot cleaner than most Asian supermarkets. The only minor problem I have are their aisles are kind of narrow and there's often boxes left there unattended to while it obstructs the path. read more

Bought a young coconut which was spoiled, tasted like vinegar so I threw it away. Contacted head quarters customer service for a refund or replacement, I don't have the receipt and neither did I use the member card, which usually I do, just didn't happen to have it that day. They took over 1.5 week to respond to 2 emails I've sent with a picture of the coconut. It would've probably taken longer if I hadn't called today. Who in their right mind would keep spoiled food for a week in their home? Of course I don't have it. So anyway, they weren't able to help me. Disappointed in their service. Even if it was just a $4 item, this is not something that I ever get and have ever seen before in Hmart. If you want coconut water, please purchase elsewhere like the health food store. That is not the first time I encountered spoiled food. When it was grape season, all of them had mold on it so didn't purchase. Take a good look at your produce. Not that you can see through a coconut... My family & I come shop here at least a few times a week because it's so close but disappointed in how they handle these issues. I have been to a couple of h-marts. This one of their newer ones. It is very clean. The selections are plentiful. It isn't as crowded which I like so I can shop at my own leisure. Meat selections are fresh and vegetables look really colorful and healthy. I don't know how long the newness will last but I am enjoying it while it last. I do come here for a lot and think this H Mart has a good stock of Korean groceries and good parking but some complaints are the high prices and service. I've had employees scold me because I was at the checkout line at 9:50pm and had slowed their staff from wrapping up and going home by their closing time of 10:00pm. I didn't realize I had to account for that from a customer's perspective - why don't they just say closing time is 9:45pm so customers won't bother them? And I also had a time when I asked for bags, and when I had used some number of paper bags (inconveniences here to note - that they don't bag items for you, which is fine with me honestly, and the bags don't have handles), I still had items to bag and was willing to pay for them as I needed but they said they'd calculated whatever number of bags already and wouldn't let me have more. This H-Mart is a medium-sized supermarket located at the border of Little Neck and Great Neck. It offers over 5 rows of shelves featuring a Pan-Asian array of food items. The store is well-lit, well-organized and most importantly have unobtrusive stock workers and friendly cashiers. The main focus here is of course, the Korean items, however, there is a decent sized selection of Chinese noodles, sauces and ingredients like dried shitake mushrooms. The strengths of this store are the fresh seafood section which contains many tanks of shellfish, lobsters, crabs, fish and shrimp. Another strength is the raw prepared meat section. There is literally a whole section dedicated to marinated meats - inexpensive by the way - and refrigerators full of shabu-style hot pot meat. Other notable sections are the brand new Korean bakery section and the large assortment of Korean Jinga-branded side dishes. One of my favorite sections of the store is the ramyun section which contains probably every known brand of ramyun in Korea. You should come here just for that! I must say that you won't get the absolute lowest prices here, but the price difference is more than made up by the quality of the food. On a final note, this H-Mart has a sizable parking lot, so it is ideal for large shopping trips. H-Mart is definitely a keeper in this part of Queens and Great Neck! read more
