Everything is over-priced. The service behind the deli is horrible. There is no ticketing system and when I asked what was going on, why is it taking so long, then one of the grouchy old man pointed to the last of the line. I'm like maybe you were sleep walking I am the first in line. He had a pretty stupid look on his face. Then he is like oh ok. I'm like ok then, lets get some work done. The younger kids at a different occasion started asking me if I fast and when I start to reply they started giggling among themselves. I was like wow this is nice. So I've gone in there with my mother the last two saturdays and she likes to go late because there's nobody in the store during that time (they close at 7). Every time we've gone in and order from the deli this one guy ALWAYS says remarks like "oh my god go home" or "no more customers please" and I even herd him say in Spanish that my mother was going to "buy the whole store" (I'm assuming because she's heavier). So in appropriate and completely immature. If we come in 5 minutes before you close so what you are still open am I right? Oh, and Spanish is the most spoken language in the United States m*ron. Only reason I didn't speak to the manager was because I know my mother likes the store and it's right near her place so it's very convenient but that guy should not be working there. read more

I love Bayside Milk Farm! I had to update my review because I saw this lady's (Kristina S) nasty review and I'm shocked. I've been shopping in this store for years and never had a bad experience. I've been getting food delivered to my parent though this crisis and they are AWSOME !!!!!! Yes you have to wait a bit for the order but You are not the only customer that placed an order. Maybe you should have a little patience and understanding for people that are risking their health and their family's health to help nasty people like you! I will never believe that they just hanged up the phone on you unless YOU were vile. They are hard working people that are overwhelmed with orders and are trying their best to serve everybody. As a Bayside dweller for nearly four decades, Bayside Milk Farm, my longtime go-to for produce, and, recently during the virus madness where people lost their minds, my go-to supermarket, is 1 of maybe 5 places I'll miss when I move east soon. BMF is a quality, family-owned treasure of the area, which I hope will forever be in existence, despite Bayside's massive demographic shift in recent years. Overpriced grocery a block away from where I work. But so easy to just walk over and grab something quick when I get the mid-morning stomach grumbles! The Bayside Milk Farm is an excellent source of great food and service. It has served the community for over 40 years and carries only quality foods, fruits and vegetables. I've used them for delivery with great success and had no problems getting all that I've needed within 4-5 hours on the same day. Instacart has taken over 4-5 days when I tried using them! Fact: I applied to work here when I was 16 years old. They didn't hire me, but I've never let that impact my love for the Bayside Milk Farm. Well, maybe for a week or two. But we've long since reconciled. Fact #2: When I was a little kid I thought that Dr. Brown's Black Cherry soda was something you could ONLY get at the Milk Farm (and delis). This place is a well-known gem in Bayside. For a small-ish store they really do have (almost) everything you could need. Their fruit is fresh, and their deli counter is filled with fresh meats and really delicious prepared foods and sides. Definitely be warned that it gets BUSY, and there is a small parking lot in the back, as well as some spots in the front - but at peak times you will wait for a spot. The store is filled with tons of delicious foods, but it doesn't seem messy or cluttered. I do think that the prices can be a little higher than your average supermarket, but you're definitely getting what you pay for - high quality and fresh food. They also cater! I currently live in Boston, but every time I make a trip to my parent's house I request a few things from the Milk Farm: 1) foccacia 2) fresh-baked corn muffins 3) fresh-made guacamole. I think that the best thing about this place is that it's family owned and they know all the regulars! Whenever I walk in with my mom they always say hi (and remember my name!) and ask me how "Baw-ston" is treating me. read more

This place is packed every Saturday and Sunday morning and there's generally a steady stream of people all the rest of the time. It's just a neighborhood grocery/deli but somehow there's something special about it. It's clean and convenient and all of their deli foods are delicious. Every time you're cooking and realize you forgot the _________, there's a surprisingly good chance they have it. And their fruits and veggies usually look a bit healthier than they do at the Waldbaum's Fresh down the way. They have a small streetfront lot, but good luck with that. I grew up in Bayside and have never been in the Bayside Milk Farm. I think we may have gone in once in the 70s. Clearly Ive been missing out. The cold cuts are so fresh. They stayed fresh even after a couple of days which is rare. The customer service is excellent both at the register and the deli counter. They have huge variety foods in the deli section. They treat each customer with patience and respect. Well done. I have to add that I love..love..love their homemade chips and guacamole, I may never eat Doritos again. The wings are delicious. Convenient location for me; I live a 3-minute walk away. Some of their stuff is a little pricey, but one can find some nice deals. I'm not complaining about the prices; I love supporting a mom-and-pop store like this. They have an outstanding selection of stuff. The deli counter has weekly specials on cold cuts, and the spread of salads and entrées is just ridiculous (in a good, good way). One of the best cheese sections around, they've got dozens of quality cheeses from just about anywhere. Bayside Milk Farm is overpriced, really small, and has incredibly slow customers that can get in the way of your overall shopping experience. So why come here? Why the four stars? The quality of their product cannot be beat. I work in the area and if I ever want a meal before 11am that isn't a bagel, Bayside Milk Farm has been my go-to. Their packaged food is delicious and easily microwaveable. Or you can get a sandwich or pre-cooked food by the deli. It's honestly some of the best food I've eaten, especially when you compare to other lunch options on bell. Their produce is incredibly fresh and they have just enough options to keep me coming back. I think there are better options when you're shopping for the week. But if you live in the area or you're stuck in the bell area, and you want some fresh organic produce or well pre-cooked meals, Bayside Milk Farm is great. Will never go back. Bought an item that was mismarked in price. It was a weighed item (bakery) . Not my fault. When I got to register they would not sell it to me. This is bad practice. Told me I would have to wait for it to be reweighed and pay correct price. Told them to keep it. It was not my mistake, and I was not going to hold up the check out for this small little piece of cake. Very bad business. They lost me. read more

I have always loved Bayside Milk Farm and it pains me to write this, but the store should be severely fined or shut down by the City. I have been going here for years and it's a great store with great people, but they are doing virtually NOTHING to protect their customers or their employees. Social distancing is non-existent and the manager himself doesn't even bother to wear a mask. The store is tiny; there shouldn't be more than five people MAX allowed in at a time and there were probably 25 in there today when I went. It was literally more packed than an average non-pandemic day. Forget about six feet- you're lucky if you can stay six inches from the other customers. Thank God most of the people there took it upon themselves to wear masks but some were not. I have been a loyal customer for decades but it's seriously gonna take a lot for me to ever go back again after today. I'm still in shock at how utterly thoughtless the people who run this place must be. Everyone in there is working their butt off, which I appreciate, but come the f' on- totally unacceptable. read more

Why??) -- and I've never encountered a nice or even remotely friendly cashier during the 8 years that I've been frequenting this place, which is a huge turn-off. Appreciate the great service behind the deli counter and the selection of fresh produce etc in such a confined space. The products leads more to an italian deli then general specialties, but hey have most of the necessities, and prices that aren't ridiculous considering the location and size. I ordered my lunch this afternoon, it was delivered within 30 minutes. I found my chicken salad to be dry. When I called to complain and ask for a refund a women by the name of Marta told my complaint didn't make sense because she cooks between 30-40lbs of fresh chicken everyday. After about 5 minutes of convincing her the food was distasteful she then agreed to issue a refund of $20. She hung up and sounded frustrated. I called back for confirmation on the refund and was placed on hold for about 7 minutes. I called back and was transferred to 3 different people who told me Marta would be with me momentarily. That never happen. I waited another 2 minutes and called back this time a gentleman identified himself as the owner by the name of Pat told me Marta may be on lunch he can't find her. He mentioned he was familiar with the situation and how he can vouch the chicken was made fresh but the refund was issued anyway. I asked him for his last name and he was offended. Pat in all his 20 + years never been asked his last name. I thought it as strange he is the owner, I mean that's how he introduced himself. He was then forced to come clean, changed his story and then claimed the manger position for the deli. When I asked why he was not honest about who he was from the very beginning he told me because his father is the owner and has been retired for 30 years. He then chuckled. Pat did invite me to come meet with him to continue the conversation, I declined I'm not sure if I'm meeting with the manager or a disgruntled dishwasher. The purpose of this review, everyone makes mistakes. Lets treat everyone equally. There is a grade of professionalism that should maintained. I don't usually write reviews but this is an exception.For years I have wanted to like this place because it is convenient to the neighborhood. I read one of the other reviews with a one star rating and they were spot on. If you ask a question you don't get an answer, you get derision and disrespect. No respect for their customers whatsoever. Their prices are high and the quality is not really that great. My friend was in there once to get fresh turkey and when she got home she had a container with turkey skin, no meat. With an occasional exception the cashiers are on another planet and make mistakes with your money. The people who frequent the establishment are some sort of entitled lot that think they can block the aisles or push you out of the way if you are in it. Why would I go back if it is so terrible? I didn't until yesterday when I came home early from work because I was sick with a cold, starving and drenched from the rain. I ran in there to get a quick salad and sandwich. Not to my surprise there was someone with a shopping cart checking their e-mails blocking the case with the sandwiches. Several people before me asked the person if they were on line for the deli. They said no but refused to budge or look up from their phone. I said excuse me and tried to get around him to see what items they had in the case but again he would not acknowledge me nor move. I had to go around the cheese aisle to get to the other side because this moron refused to move. I just grabbed one of the salads and a wrap and left. When I finally got home and got around to eating the salad, I took one bite and something started crunching between my teeth and not in a good way. It was grit. I put my glasses on and took a closer look. I picked out a piece of lettuce that was right on top and saw something brownish. I ran my finger over it and it was dirt, it was never washed. I couldn't believe it but yes I could. Next time I'll take my chances at 7-Eleven. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

We recently used BMF to cater my daughters communion party. After researching many different options I came across BMF and was attracted by the per person full course dinner rate. It was extremely reasonable compared to other places I'd looked at, and the options are excellent. I went in and met with Tom who was lovely and helped me put together a menu for 30 guests. The food was delivered on time before the party. The delivery person forgot to leave the sternos and before I could panic, someone from BMF came back to drop them off. I could not believe the size of the platters of food and how beautifully they were arranged. Most importantly everyone commented on how delicious the food tasted! I would not be surprised if they gained some new customers from my guests. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I certainly plan to use them again! read more

Most packaged items are priced slightly higher than grocery store prices unless it is on sale then you'll end up paying about the same as grocery stores. Can't fault them for the higher price since it is a neighborhood store that can't price compete and shouldn't be compared with large supermarket chains. Their deli prepared items and sliced meats and cheeses are good and the counter staff slices them real thin. The reason for the 3 star off is the samples laid out... whether it be chips or crackers or whatever is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING and unhygienic. I've seen disgusting people reach in and take a few and toss it around and contaminate the entire batch with their DNA before settling on one. Multiply this by 10's and 100's of people a day and you got yourself a nice sample of bacteria and human bodily waste/fluid AND don't get me started with when there is a dip to go with the the chip/cracker. I'm nauseated just thinking about it. Get rid of that or have it in individual mini cups. read more

i always loved bayside milk farm.. years ago i would order lunch from there EVERYDAY at my old job... i haven't had them in awhile and when i saw them on grubhub i was so excited .. sadly, it was not the bayside milk farm i knew and loved .. i got a chicken surely sandwich with cheese on a wrap.. the cheese was cold and not melted, you could tell the chicjen was in the microwave it was so chewy.and they slathered it in gross bbq sauce i didn't ask for .. it was expensive but i was willing to pay for the deliciousness.. what a depressing let down. read more
