First of all, the lady at the general store (main office) is incredibly friendly and warm. We stayed in the Angler's Den cabin and called ahead a few times with questions. She answered all of them and was very kind and helpful. The cabin came stocked with pots, plans, dishes, silverware, wine opener/bottler opener and really pretty much everything you would need. The cabin was actually quite large and had a true living room, kitchen (with large refrigerator), bathroom, and separate bedroom. There were multiple TV's within the cabin as well. Plus a large comfortable recliner chair! The cabin also had an air conditioning unit, which was much needed during the month of July. Not all cabins have AC, but most do. Offut Lake Resort is also in a densely wooded area with plenty of tall trees, so the shade throughout the resort keeps it much cooler. Even though the temps were in the high 80's when we were there, it was surprisingly shaded and comfortable throughout. The actual resort is nestled within a few neighborhoods near the lake. It is a quiet area and everyone seemed friendly. It was very safe and we were able to take our one year old son on a few long walks throughout the bordering neighborhoods. The resort has a playground with swings, a basketball court, and a larger grass area for other recreational activities. The general store/main office sells items you might need (or have forgot), and also sells beverages such as soda/juice/beer. The Lady of the Lake Restaurant is fantastic and is truly one of the best things about this small resort. It is incredibly convenient to be able to order takeout food for lunch or dinner from the restaurant and bring it back to your cabin. The restaurant is a short 3-5 minute walk from the camp sites and cabins. All of the food we had there was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The food was higher quality and tastier than what you might find at most bar & grills. Eating at the restaurant is also a nice option, and there is a bar there as well. It is a busy restaurant and seems to be a popular place with the locals. The fish & chips were delicious and something we would recommend! They also had a band play at the restaurant on Friday night. The lake is very scenic and tranquil. It is a shallow lake making it fairly warm and the water seemed clean. There is a small grass beach front area with rock wall that leads down to the lake. There are steps to walk down to get to the lake. We would recommend bringing water socks (or some type of water shoes) because the rocks at the bottom of the lake are a little harder to stand on. We brought sand toys, but then when we got there we realized there was no sand or beach area. Not a big deal at all, but just something to be aware of. It is a great lake to bring floaties to and float around. Next time I go back, I'll bring floaties with an anchor to anchor out in the middle of the lake. You can also fish off the dock or rent boats for the day. This is an underrated lake resort for people in Western Washington! I have lived in the Seattle area my whole life and I've never heard anyone talk about this place! The prices are very reasonable, it is a short trek from the Seattle area, and it feels like a true lake getaway. We stayed for two nights, but it would be easy to spend three or four nights there, especially if you rent boats and spent the day out on the lake. The Lady of the Lake restaurant is a great place to end the day and have drinks/dinner. This is a fun family resort, but would also be a fun option for couples or groups of friends. We stayed there in July during a nice streak of sunshine, but this could be a fun place to go in the Spring or Fall as well.

The lady that waited on me is very nice and help me put my arm band on. I went down to the dock. The dock is in very good shape with a new crafts meaning boats. Also, they have some new seats that have been repaired. It is very clean and wonderful fishing. I limited and was very happy. We checked in our room and saw a decent number of ants on the nightstand near the headboards. Called the front desk, they came and sprayed Raid and said call if there is anything else needed. After she left, we just stood there unsure of how to handle this. A handful of minutes later, whatever they did activated the ants and quite a bit more showed up. I followed their line and it was coming from under the bed, which was boarded up. Something to note, when I did look on the floor, it wasn't exactly clean, as there were crumbs littered about. The idea of laying our heads inches away from a swarm of ants didn't sit well with us. We requested a refund and got it, but the inconvenience didn't seem to matter to them as we lost our only lodging for the tournament.

We spent two days and one night at the cottage participating in the French Flea and had many opportunities to observe Kim and JoNell as the organizers and gracious hosts of a major event. The French Flea is an upscale market offering unusual and sought after items to the public with something for everyone. The vendor selection was great and included local and out of state folks. A big thanks to Mary Corso, Courtyard Antique Mall owner, for inviting me. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail makes every event a positive experience. The caterers served creative and ample portions of tasty food at a very fair price. Loved the watermelon water, it was such a refreshing surprise on our 97 degree day!. Another big bonus was the ample parking provided for the vendors and the public. The cottage is easy to find, less then a mile from the freeway but a tranquil world apart. The cottage was open to the public throughout the event and we heard many oohs and aahs as visitors explored the many nooks, crannies and amenities provided for guests. The cottage is a delightful retreat offering custom bed linens, fluffy guest robes, a great shower in the bathroom and several comfortable areas for lounging, reading or cozy visiting as in our case. And pampering begins as you arrive and continues your entire visit. We were welcomed back to the cottage after a long day with wine, cupcakes and candles. However my favorite treat, was fresh brewed coffee which greeted us in the morning , a great start to another day at the cottage. And you ask...would we participate in the French Flea again...am already signed up and preparing for next years event! There are enough beds to comfortably sleep 16-18 adults and enough available floor space for a number of air mattresses if needed! The grounds are so beautiful with green horse pastures, blossoming trees and flowers and the perfect white wooden fence to compliment the barn-red house. The owner was quick to respond to questions and needs while we were there and has appointed the house with beautiful bedding, art and decorations. For a gathering of good friends sharing experience strength and hope, a family reunion or a special wedding or anniversary party this property will not disappoint. We'll be back next year!

Rainier. There are plenty of bedrooms and sleeping spaces, which was terrific for our group. I will say that the cost per night is significantly higher this year than it was in 2015, and that was a struggle for our organization. I cannot say it is worth the new high cost per night. If you're planning a wedding, or need a retreat location, consider the Manor at South Bay, as long as you're willing to spend the money.

I did a quick search for a cabin between the San Juan Islands and Portland and this spot popped up. It was exactly what I was looking for. A Rustic tiny house in the middle of the woods. Lemongrass the sweet orange cat greeted me upon arrival. So did a beautiful fawn. So much flora and fauna, that you will be immediately engulfed by nature. There are different themed cabins. I passed Glass, Jewel and Cozy on the way to my cabin, Lantern. Plenty of amenities to take this up quite a few notches from camping, and still maintain that disconnected vibe. I was able to use the refrigerator at the fully stocked outdoor kitchen to chill a few things I brought with me. The restroom in front of the kitchen has a modern hot shower, toilet and sink. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. In the cabin you have towels in the compartment behind the door. There is a heat wave going on right now, but if it was colder, there's a great little space heater inside the cabin. I slept great. Woke up to the sunrise, birds chirping, and trees everywhere. I would absolutely recommend staying here, and next time I'll bring stuff to make s'mores around the fire pit. Five stars.

One of the best parts is that so many of the original features are still there. You really can get a sense of what it must have been like to stay here in the early 1900s, but without it feeling neglected or forgotten. Just be aware when booking that some rooms have shared bathrooms while others have private bathrooms. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and we would not hesitate to stay here again.
