I've been doing business with the Bank of Marion for around 20 years and it keeps becoming harder…read moreand it seems like to get money. After I've just deposited a check, they seem to want to keep putting holds on checks sometimes 2 or 3 days and this is on third party checks which is aggravating but understandable. But when I deposit a check from another bank another financial institution and they tell me it's going to be 7 days before I can get my money. That's a whole new level of aggravation. Then when I go to get it I drop by a branch and I'm told we can only let you have up to a certain amount from a branch. I'm not dealing with this. This is so much aggravation to go through to get my own money when all they have to do is pick up a phone and call these people and verify that The funds are there to back the check. But we all know that money is transferred to them next day. There's other things that play here! We live in a world now where things are done literally overnight. The longer they can keep my money or anyone else's money in their Bank, the more they can lend on it. But it's okay. I have other banks I deal with and I will be moving all of my accounts and funds to one of those here over the next couple weeks. It's a lot of aggravation getting all that set up. The auto drafts and what not but I'm just done playing games with these people. So I gave them one star and that's only because this app made me otherwise they wouldn't have got any! And there's a lot more that I can add things that's going on over the years, but I feel like this has gone on long enough and pretty well explains most of my complaints!

When my friend told me that the Bank of Marion was holding the wired money for 24 hours, I called the bank hoping to clear things up and get the money to my friend ASAP. They informed me that they were concerned about my friend being scammed. I had the same fears, and when I questioned my friend further it became clear that they were being scammed. Rob Donnelly and other employees worked very patiently, and compassionately over the next two days to return the money to my account. Had Rob and the crew not put the brakes on and been so accommodating, I would be out of a large sum of money, and my friend would have to live with the guilt of having given that money to a scammer.
