Yes, there was a lot to remove. But they saw the job before bidding. Unfortunately many of the smaller bushes (referred to as volunteers because they plant themselves and are invasive) they just cut them off below the ground so now they are all sprouting up. Pretty frustrating because I asked point blank if that's what they did (after noticing on camera they were here one minute, gone the next) and he assured me they did not. He did rent a grinder to remove the big trunks which was great. But now I'm left with a bunch of roots I have to remove even though I paid them for it. Not cool. But yes. For a fence only I would highly recommend.

We went through several design concepts and he worked to incorporate my ideas and was honest about the ideas he didn't think would be practical. In the end, I have a beautiful work of art in my dining room that's uniquely crafted and one of a kind. Working with Stuart was so enjoyable and he kept me updated with his progress with pictures and texts. Our dining table will be a focal point for family dinners and gatherings for many years and because it is handcrafted makes it even more special. So after our first experience, which is typed up below, we ended up just hiring Eric to seed the…read moregrass for us. The quote he gave us was affordable and once we asked him to do it, he was very quick at getting us into his schedule. We let the weeds get out of hand again since the last time he helped us out, so we actually needed him to get rid of the weeds again before we could seed. He came one day and took out all the weeds himself. He also spray weed killer all over the yard. Left instructions on how to spray for weeds for one week. We needed to spray daily. Then he came back a week later and did the tilling of the yard, to get the dirt softened up. After that he had to haul away some dirt for us to the landfill as we had dug a hole for our trampoline to be in ground and had just piled it in the yard where the grass needed to go. Next he and his crew got the irrigation system set up. They brought in a trencher and dug the trenches for the pipes, connected everything, got the sprinklers hooked up, tested them, and then buried the pipes. He was able to connect the sprinklers to our watering system we already had on the house which was nice. When he finished, he graded and then seeded the yard, as well as put down the top soil. After the seeding, he watered the yard and then gave us instructions on how to care for the grass, what the watering schedule needs to be, and how long to stay off of it, etc. The whole process seemed long, but in reality it only took about 2 weeks, and that's only because he had to get the weeds out! He's fast, affordable, friendly, and good at communicating without trying to oversell you. He runs a really good and honest business and we'll definitely be hiring him again. I'll come back and add to my review after the grass is grown! We're very excited about it. First experience - beginning of summer We moved into a new house about a year before we hired Eric. The backyard was not done. Just dirt. We weren't ready to fix it up right away so we left it. Then the rain and and the MUD. ‍‍ And then after the mud came the MASSIVE INFLUX OF WEEDS!! Weeds of every shape and kind! Our poor dogs were constantly covered in burs and we hAd to go through their fur every time they came inside. Our kids couldn't play out there either! Anyways, we found Eric on yelp, hired him to clean up the backyard and get rid of all the weeds. He and his crew came, stayed for a few hours, and it was like a brand new yard! They even put the weeds in our green bin for us! We really liked how he handled business. He's quick, affordable, and a nice guy as well. After hiring him for the weed removal, we decided we would ask him about seeding grass. He was very open with suggestions, and even went as far as to explain the exact process of what we would need to do, the order of things, etc. My husband was considering doing it himself at this point, and Eric was very helpful and provided a bunch of great tips and info on how to get us going. All in all a great experience. Would hire again.

On the scheduled work day, Affordable Gardening & Landscaping arrived on time, explained the scope of work again, and immediately got started. Throughout the day, the staff were very respectful of my home and consistently kept me updated on their progress. The noise level was reasonable as the project moved forward, which I appreciated. Once the work was completed, they conducted a thorough inspection and made sure everything was cleaned up before leaving. I am very satisfied with the final results. Last year, we decided to extend the old hardwood into another section of our home. Andrew's dad is retired now, but Andrew now has his own business and we were happy to find him! Since we wanted to alter the finish, the old hardwood needed to be sanded and refinished to match the new install. Andrew did everything he said he would do, when he said he would do it, and the results are nothing less than stunning. No one can even tell there is an old floor and a new floor even though the "seam" is long and in the middle of a large open area....it's invisible. Andrew works with kindness, integrity, and skill. He is everything you could want in a contractor. In fact, we are about to begin another phase and add hardwood to the last 2 rooms in the house...and, of course, Andrew is the person I want to do it. *I snapped a quick pic of the floors today (over a year after he did them).
