I reach out at 9 AM and he said his trailer is getting fixed and will be out by 1 PM. 1 PM rolls around and he texts me to say he will be another hour late, but can at least do the power washing. I reminded him I did not agree to do the power washing (I should have confirmed earlier), so he said he has to reschedule. After that, silence. 7/24/26 - I finally asked if he is still planning on doing the work and he said he can do it on 8/1/26. Well, today is 8/1 and I never heard back from him. Unfortunately, he has beeen unreliable in my experience.

When I decided to redo my backyard, I consulted with several contractors. My primary goals were to…read morereplace an aging deck and to cover the yard in pavers reducing the weed potential, which had been an ongoing problem for years. I chose pavers because they have a better track record for longevity than concrete. When I got back the proposals, I appreciated that the one from Forever Green Cali reflected everything I had mentioned in our initial meeting and had the best price. It was clear that attention had been paid during the meeting. Once selected as the contractor, the work began pretty quickly, nailing down details, making selections, identifying the things to stay, etc. The demolition of the existing deck and cleanup of the weeds went fairly quickly. And there were a lot of weeds. The rest of the work of preparing the foundation and sand and then laying the pavers went very quickly as well. Their employees worked very hard and with precision. I had an existing orange tree that was remaining and I really liked the outline that was made around it, including the darker accent pavers. I wanted a tree on the other side of the yard and I had failed to emphasize where I wanted it. When I asked about making a change to pavers already laid out in order to adjust for the tree, Firas was quick to accommodate me, and his employee made the change in no time. This cut out mimics the cut out for the orange tree and really complements it. As a novice at this sort of thing, I appreciated the good suggestions Firas made throughout the process. He and his team were very easy to work with. Part of this process included using their landscape designer to design the planting beds that were around the perimeter. She really took into consideration the kinds of plants I liked and the color scheme that I wanted. After our trip to the nursery, she provided a schematic so that I could anticipate what it would look like and also serve as a guide for the planting of the yard. I absolutely love the result. It is precisely what I wanted. I love the patio that replaced the deck. The edge is trimmed in a darker bullnose paver that makes it visually clear that there is a step down and the lights under the step emphasize this transition. Having broken my arm in the yard five months ago, this is a safety feature that I really appreciate. My backyard is now a much safer place to be which was a primary incentive for this entire project. Did I mention that I love my backyard? It's now a calm and tranquil place to relax. I cannot recommend Forever Green Cali highly enough. If I were to ever have another yard that needed assistance, I would definitely use them again.

Had to email them to tell them after a month we never heard anything back. Then they just emailed with no verbiage of our quote. It felt like they virtually just threw us a piece of paper. I did see a few bad reviews here and there but decided to overlook them as not everybody is perfect and was hoping that the overall quality of the positive experiences and review would shine through. This was honestly the worst contractor decision of my life. Pros: -Turf work and retaining wall look clean/sharp Cons: - Sales representative Jose kept promising me 0% finance and pushed the project to start asap. He even sent his crew to start unloading stuff without telling me. - I agreed to 0% finance plan and signed a formal contract with them on it only for the project manager to freak out on me on day of the project and kept calling/harassing me to pay everything within start/completion of the project in 48 hours. A huge difference between what I agreed and signed to. I explained that their financing bank had conditional approval already and what was agreed between me and their sales representative Jose but he didn't care and said Jose "overstepped and shouldn't have said that" and still demanded I pay everything asap for him and his team or they would charge me another $700 if they had to stop and wait for finance. He kept complaining this is what the original contract started, I said yes but Jose said we can switch and signed a new contract, but he didn't care and kept repeating the first version of the contract. Jose and I had signed multiple new versions as we made a lot of new revisions to the work. Horrible communication and definitely untrustworthy right from the start. He then decided to demand the entire check upfront while we wait for the bank, I immediately said no as I don't trust them at all. What's to stop them from cashing my giant check and then a third person calling me saying Juan overstepped and shouldn't have done this or that. - I explained to them that the bank verification took longer as I owned multiple property and they needed to review everything and that I was ok with starting later. Jose insisted to start asap and that a conditional approval was fine, apparently it was not as Juan did not accept that at all. It was exhausting going back and forth, there is literally no communication at all between the two. Juan was nice in the end, he explained Jose lied to "cover his own butt". But in the end I was the person that suffered for it. Paying everything upfront is a huge difference between being promised 0% finance for 12 months. - I was hoping that the quality of their work would shine through, but the pavers damaged the side of my home and I told them but they refused to take responsibility for it. - I also paid extra for charcoal border with my pavers but they got it wrong as well. I had to point it out for them to switch it. Juan was good about it, but it is exhausting to have to watch them for everything to make sure it was right and that they are following what was written in the contract. There were other things I requested done that weren't done that I had to remind them of as well. - Cleanup after alright was 80% good. A lot of plastic bottles, gum wrapper, bottle caps, random pieces of trash and tire marks all over my driveway after they were done. - The second worst experience of this is easily the pricing agreement with them. We agreed on a price for the wall, paving and turf work. One of the addendums was to add lights with a transformer. However, after not being fully informed of how it would work, I decided to remove it. Jose told me that it would jump up the price to $2,150 and I had the screenshot to prove it. I showed Juan but he kept insisting that everything was only $1,100 and that he would refund me an additional $700 as a favor for me and to not write a bad review on everything that has happened to me. I was confused as basically the price was going up 2150 for the work but removing it only dropped down 1,100 and that I was basically lucky that he was giving me another 700 back as well. In the end, I am still negative $350 for the lighting work that I removed. The price basically increased per our original contract and Juan couldn't explain why he was still charging me that higher amount if I was not getting anything else new or in addition to it. At this point, I was beyond mentally exhausted and just agreed to it to get it over with. I was not going to post up a review online as it was just too tiring and now I am stuck looking for somebody to fix the exterior of my home after their damage -I have never thought about paying contractors less than what we agreed on for their work until I met a company as unprofessional and irresponsible as this one. Even worse, I reported this to their company and got ignored.
