If I could describe BD Dental in one word, I would have to utilize the adjective........ AMAZING! This phenomenal establishment was able to change what I considered a TRADGEDY into TRIUMPHANT! On April 29, 2017, I was struck in the face with a wooden broom handle. Along with detaching my lip at the corners of my mouth, this force also caused me to lose teeth. I am a person who takes great pride in my appearance, so I was beyond consolable at this time.
On my way to the emergency room, I contacted BD Dental on a whim. It was a Saturday, and it was nearly 1:00 PM. I thought for sure I would get an answering service. I was desperate though, so I took a chance. To my complete and utter shock, someone did answer the phone. It was not an answering service, it was not a receptionist, nor was it a dental hygienist. The DENTIST herself answered the phone. Through tears, missing teeth, and frustration, I shared my story with Dr. Mai Nguyen. Before she could tell me her thoughts on my particular situation, our telephone call was disconnected. I became even more frustrated. Less than 2- minutes later, my phone rang. It was Dr. Nguyen. She simply picked up the telephone conversation where we left off.
Upon arriving on Monday, May 1, 2017, I was totally nervous. I had inner stitches from the back of my mouth to the outside of my lip. My entire lip had to be reconnected. As we all know, any type of dental work requires that you open your mouth. I just knew that this would be a painful process. She took one look at my super swollen lip, and calmly said, "No worries, we will take care of you. And, this is exactly what they did.
From the front office person, Edna, to the Dental Hygienist, Jose, everyone made me feel comfortable. They did not make me feel like an alien despite my facial disfigurement and my missing teeth. Then, the real work began.
Once the x-rays were developed it was observed that I needed far more work than what was thought at first. This incident exposed the fact that I needed more dental work then simply restoring the broken teeth. I was really about to lose it at that point. I became frantic. I thought I would have to leave the office the same way that I came in. Dr. Nguyen assured me that I would walk out with a smile that I could be proud of.
It is no secret that dental work is expensive with or without insurance. However, Dr. Nguyen did not focus on the cost. Instead, she told me what I needed, why I needed it, and what was the best option in my particular situation. She gave me time to think it over, consult my husband, and weigh all of my options before making any decisions. She made sure that my insurance company was contacted, and that I was getting as much as I could financially from my insurance company. This was a TRUE BLESSING for me. I could tell from the actions of Dr. Nguyen and her staff that they cared about their patients. And, for that, I will be FOREVER grateful.
My actual dental work began at 11:00AM. I did not finish until 5:21PM. During that time Dr. Nguyen and Jose worked in my mouth. Neither of the two bothered taking a lunch break. They had to be very gentle with me because of my extensive amount of stitches, and neither of them appeared to be agitated. They simply guarded my stitches with care, and they worked carefully around them.
I am truly pleased with the service that I received at BD Dental. I would recommend this facility to anyone for any dental service that they may need. I cannot thank this staff enough for RESTORING MY SMILE......
