We brought my 2-year-old daughter in for a simple nail polish application. The technician did a neat job and was kind, but I was shocked to be charged $35 for the service. There was no manicure, nail trimming, filing, or other treatment provided, just nail polish. While I appreciate the quality of the polish application, $35 seems extremely excessive for a toddler's basic polish service. We questioned this but the desk worker didn't care. People were nice, but I wouldn't go again. While filing my nails, Ari filed so hard that she cut into my skin twice. I now have two cuts. When asking for my preferred nail length, I said "that's good," and she proceeded to cut off some more a minute later bc she realized the nails were uneven. Nails ended up being too short. I hate leaving bad reviews.. but I wish I knew more before trying this place out. Everywhere I looked there were positive reviews, so I was excited to give it a try. The atmosphere was nice, and my nail tech was very sweet. This is why I have hesitated to leave a review & the only reason I give it an extra star. Everything else about this place was very poor. To start off, it took 2.5 hours to get a solid color dip color change! Thankfully, I had no other plans that day. Not only that, very very limited color choices, with no reference to see what the color would look like on the nail. I called this morning to get an acrylic soak off and acrylic overlay. I was told $15 for the soak off and $45 for the overlay. A bit overpriced but the nails on Instagram looked good. After 1.5 hours of soak off and another 2 hours of overlay with a questionable shape from Liz, Scarlet did a French tip 'design'. I didn't realize it but I would be charged $25 extra for it. Honestly if I had a better nail shape, neat polish, and no cuts on my fingers (I counted two) I wouldn't mind paying $85. I've looking for a spot to get my bails done in Highland Park for two years. Terrible customer service! Made an appointment for two people for SNS powder only to find out it's one at a time, what nail place does this? If you're going with your gf or mom, or whomever just know they'll be waiting for you to be done before they can help you, ridiculous. So you'll be at the nail salon for over 2 hours! Most nail places in the area will do everything in their power to finish same time as your friend even if you're not getting the same service. The manager there did not apologize for such miscommunication, but assured me that I was told this on the phone.. when I didn't even speak to him. He was completely unprofessional, and was not focusing on doing anything for the customer. Bad impression for a new salon. Additionally before I started my session I asked him how many people knew SNS powder and he said 4, when I sat down only 1 person knew SNS (the lady helping me)it was just a way to fool me in sitting down for my nails. I can go on, but just know they are not very experienced technicians especially for SNS powder, I spent $40 which is more than I typically spent for a worse service and on a nail brand I was unfamiliar with, who knows where they source their products from. It's a shame they had such bad management I have sisters, and family friends who could of benefited for a new place nearby, their loss. My friend and I came here. They cut up both of our feet during the pedicure, both girls who did our nails did not have their license, they were students, this was NOT discussed prior which is highly misleading..My nails were broken within 3 days, i went back to fix them and then two more broke after that. read more

This salon needs some more lessons in customer service and development. I called the salon prior to booking and was given a price for gel pedi & acrylic on my big toes ($31.50+$15=$46.50). There was a special on the site at the time of booking and I was only required to pay a deposit of $15.75. When I got to the salon there was a back and forth discussion of how much the acrylic on my toes would be and they had to call a manager. The manager proceeded to tell me that the price has changed on the acrylic and it's now $20 but I told her that when I went to Barbie beauty it was $15 and they are under the same management so when one isn't available I always go to the other. She then says okay I'll tell the tech to charge $15 for the acrylic toes (big toes). When I was checking out the bill came to $50.30 +$6 tip. I didn't realize that this salon didn't honor the special as I booked online and they went ahead and changed me $50.30 versus $46.50 and they also took my deposit and did not return my money. I have filed a dispute with my bank because how the heck did a $31.50 gel pedicure plus $15 come to $50? And you took my deposit and didn't apply it to the bill. How does that make any sense? Please keep your techs knowledgeable of how to check out properly and return my money due because this is absolutely ridiculous. read more

Worst experience at any salon. My manicure was drying under cheap little fans and was getting wrinkly. When I showed Liz, she asked everyone around her and they all said it was the top coat. I asked if it could have been my polish since I brought my own. I asked if we should use a different polish and she said no. Then she proceeded to take the cuticle scissors she used on my and started cutting up shards of her own press-on nails. Bits of her nail flying all around me. After the pedicure, which was certainly not the best pedicure I've had, I pointed out that my nails were all bubbly and wrinkly in the top coat. She then said she would take the polish off but didn't have time to paint them. She then charged me FULL $65 to leave with no polish, didn't knock a dollar off or anything. When I asked about it she started blaming me. I have a gift card but had to pay my own money for the deposit and now have a gift card to a gross place where someone shares tools on herself and leaves with my nail looking like the picture attached. read more
