Don't sharpen at home! Typically it's about a 2 day turnaround but the week between xmas and New year's is quiet so they did them on the spot. Five minutes and $4 later (2022 pricing) I was done. Shears feel like new. Customer service was fabulous, lovely people. Glad I found them.

The person who helped us out was very very patient! We were there for over half an hour. Being that it was our first "good quality expensive knife" We wanted some information on the type,the quality,the handling,the longevity etc. The guy was such a trooper. He could have gotten annoyed at the first 15 mins but he didn't if anything he kept pulling out different knives or putting them away after process of elimination. He would listen to my likes versus the likes or dislikes of my s/O and finally he found a medium size knife that complimented both our needs/wants/expectations. This is the best place for anyone who's looking for a knife I'm definitely coming here for our second one. There's no pressure to purchase, no judgments when i said I had 0 knowledge. We came in saying we wanted more info on knives and we left with a knife and a sharper. Semi long drive but definitely worth it! Excellent service.

She wanted a good bread knife, since the one we had essentially sucks. Bless her heart, she wants to support local, clearly vocalizing her intentions as I browsed the knife listings on Amazon. Upon exiting the store, my ladies had HUGE smiles on their faces. On the drive home, they couldn't say enough about the customer service, product selection and knowledge, and the price for the quality of knife that was purchased. We have since returned for a chef's knife, and the experience was equally great.

first of all i called on saturday , he got back to me sat night . he said he would be at my house…read moreat 1 pm , sunday , and he was . he gave me an estimate btween $150 or $250 . the price was $250 if i needed a new carburator . i needed a new carb , the original carb lasted about 25 years , not bad . he showed me the carb and it was all gummy , the carb could not be rebuilt . it was on it's last legs . al was a real gentleman , he proceeded to install the new carb and a full tuneup . when he was done , he pulled the cord and on the first pull it was purring like a kitten . i was very pleased . the guy does quality work , and he even had the new carb in his truck . very satisfied !

They do have a clearance section towards the back of the store, but most of the stuff there was actually past its best before date. If you love gourmet stinky cheeses, they had lots! As for me, I'll just stick to brie, harvati and other benign to the nose cheeses thank you very much ;) Fun store to poke around. Lots of free parking.

They have everything an upscale kitchen could need - from the tools to the groceries, including (but not limited to) spices - right down the pepper and salt mills, cheeses, chips, dishes, pots and pans, and top end coffee makers. I will definitely be back to try out the coffee shop in the corner. You need the rest that refreshes (coffee) after a stroll through this shop. What was I waiting for?? They had some very good sales - leftovers from Christmas. I picked up a mug for myself (which had the design of a scarf and mittens. What can I say? I'm a knitter!) and one of those stoneware cookie molds which came with a recipe. This was on sale at a good price; I've seen it at double that elsewhere in the city. Did you know that there's a difference in the mechanisms of a pepper and salt mills? Apparently the salt can rust and corrode a pepper mill, and the pepper is too hard for a salt mill. Whodathunk?! I actually went in looking for coffee pots. The ones we have at work have been seriously used and abused. I'm also feeling the need for an espresso or latté machine, and was hoping I might find one of those nifty combo things here. Turns out that the design I'm thinking of is a bit passé. Too bad for me! However, the good coffee makers they have here are too good for work (read: expensive), and could almost be professional, like for coffee shops. So, I will have to keep shopping. Yum. I've just gotta say this place was very inspiring!!
