The person who helped us out was very very patient! We were there for over half an hour. Being that it was our first "good quality expensive knife" We wanted some information on the type,the quality,the handling,the longevity etc. The guy was such a trooper. He could have gotten annoyed at the first 15 mins but he didn't if anything he kept pulling out different knives or putting them away after process of elimination. He would listen to my likes versus the likes or dislikes of my s/O and finally he found a medium size knife that complimented both our needs/wants/expectations. This is the best place for anyone who's looking for a knife I'm definitely coming here for our second one. There's no pressure to purchase, no judgments when i said I had 0 knowledge. We came in saying we wanted more info on knives and we left with a knife and a sharper. Semi long drive but definitely worth it! Excellent service.

She wanted a good bread knife, since the one we had essentially sucks. Bless her heart, she wants to support local, clearly vocalizing her intentions as I browsed the knife listings on Amazon. Upon exiting the store, my ladies had HUGE smiles on their faces. On the drive home, they couldn't say enough about the customer service, product selection and knowledge, and the price for the quality of knife that was purchased. Happened to walk by here, so…read morereached out via email, got a quick response that they do indeed sharpen Fabric Shears, so headed over with mine. Of note, fabric shear sharpening requires skill. Don't sharpen at home! Typically it's about a 2 day turnaround but the week between xmas and New year's is quiet so they did them on the spot. Five minutes and $4 later (2022 pricing) I was done. Shears feel like new. Customer service was fabulous, lovely people. Glad I found them.

They do have a clearance section towards the back of the store, but most of the stuff there was actually past its best before date. If you love gourmet stinky cheeses, they had lots! As for me, I'll just stick to brie, harvati and other benign to the nose cheeses thank you very much ;) Fun store to poke around. Lots of free parking.

I'm a knitter!) and one of those stoneware cookie molds which came with a recipe. This was on sale at a good price; I've seen it at double that elsewhere in the city. Did you know that there's a difference in the mechanisms of a pepper and salt mills? Apparently the salt can rust and corrode a pepper mill, and the pepper is too hard for a salt mill. Whodathunk?! I actually went in looking for coffee pots. The ones we have at work have been seriously used and abused. I'm also feeling the need for an espresso or latté machine, and was hoping I might find one of those nifty combo things here. Turns out that the design I'm thinking of is a bit passé. Too bad for me! However, the good coffee makers they have here are too good for work (read: expensive), and could almost be professional, like for coffee shops. So, I will have to keep shopping. Yum. I've just gotta say this place was very inspiring!!

After using TLC for over 5 years, I've had issues with the new apprentice. I had YuYu after Marty…read moreleft and one appt they wrongfully gave me the new apprentice which I never recognized because she was also asian like YuYu. I told them I did not want her again because she really did a bad job. Again I noticed my dog has issues with too much hair over his eyes, big front legs never groomed and very hairy chest. I've explained to them I need to book an appt to get a driver when I have to go and wanted to book an appt for this Sun for about approx. 15-20 min. to touch up the issuesI was told to come around 12 (noon). I kept calling to maybe change it to Sat but they never call back. Finally I was told today it's impossible for Sat and not to come on Sun until the apprentice calls me Sun morning. The new management does not understand the issues they give me. - They could have explained that YuYu does not work on Sundays anymore but simply misrepresented using the new apprentice who is not good at all. Never finishes , never goes over her job for touch ups, etc. If I was informed that YuYu was replaced with apprentice and did not work on Sundays, I would have changed the day to Saturday. It is so simple but they tricked me again.
