Dr. Diego came across like he cared at first...Nice Office, Friendly Receptionist, Good 1st consultation...it's an open adjustment with 2 or 3 other people laying on tables next to you... He booked my 2nd appointment for the next day and then, it all changed! He's all about the CASH!!! My Insurance doesn't cover this this so he said, can you make a commitment for 3X's a week for 3 Month's @ $3,295.00, Basically $90.00 per open area adjustment for 10 minutes...or $895.00 per month Cash for 3 months...Who is paying $3,295.00 for 3 months of adjustments...Be Warned as I was so disappointed and turned off but then again...typically LA Superficial Person! Lower back pain - ugh! Neck issues - double ugh! I'll never understand why I was ok with having pain for extended periods of time. Pain is NOT a badge of honor. Pain simply reduces our quality of life. Luckily, I walked by Beach Cities Chiropractic on my way to pick up dinner, walked in and made an appointment for the next day and I'm so glad I did! Now I know what's the matter with my neck and back and the treatment is working wonders! In just a few weeks I feel so much better, have better mobility and the pain has subsided noticeably! Dr. Diego is a nice guy, nice the office is clean and proffered looking, with friendly reception staff. It's a shame that I feel if you aren't paying full price (out of pocket, Without insurance) you don't get the best service. Adjustments are very fast, less than two minutes. But my last visit (on insurance, before I would need to start paying cash) he rushed me out the door, not giving a full or even adjustment on both sides of my body. When I questioned this, Dr Diego said he could adjust me further, at this point I didn't feel his heart was in the adjustment and I didn't want a half hearted effort adjusting my back any further, it's not something to take lightly. Up until my last adjustment, I was happy with Beach Cities Chiropractic as a business, but this last visit totally ruined my entire experience, I din't feel adjusted, and left feeling pretty bad. read more

I'm on an intense plan where I come in to the office every 6-8 weeks (I live in NYC) and crank out 3 visits a day over 5 days and it's definitely been helping with retraining my body on the "right" way. I have had chronic issues with my right knee for years and started realizing that there are probably related skeletal / alignment issues I still needed to address. What I saw on the first visit x-ray didn't surprise me, but I gained better understanding of why some issues persisted and further how to immediately start remedying those in really accessible and simple ways. I've gone to the doctor's & 2 other chiropractors with a shoulder issue I've had for years & no one has been able to help. I came to see Dr Diego because it's close to my job. He immediately made an 8 week plan to help & decrease the shoulder pain. We're 4 weeks into the program & I've seen significant improvement. Pain that used to happen 4-5 times a week & last for hours is almost completely gone along. He also has talks & educates his clients very well along with having you do certain exercises and stretches here in the office. I feel fully taken care of here. Dr. Bignone is a great listener with firm chiropractic skills. He begins his consultation with x-rays to observe the patient's deficiencies as it relates to the body's musculoskeletal balance (my interpretation). He applies a certain schedule for adjustments and home stretches to address those deficiencies. His system works well for patients who want holistic care within a busy schedule. I appreciate his drive and wish him the most success in his business. I believe over a few years of practice, his knowledge will be even more valuable for his patients. As far as payments, i don't believe they checked my insurance, but did offer cash payment which wasn't unreasonable. Would have preferred insurance coverage, but he provided a refund for unused balance. read more

The doctor asks me questions not just about how I felt physically, but how my back pain has affect my day to day life. After taking my xrays, he then began to perform a minor adjustment to see how I would feel after. He then took his time to explain my situation and what it would take to fully correct my back. Dr. Diego is the best! I've been coming here for close to a year. I started with a more aggressive program to get on top of my pain (3 visits/wk) and have since tapered that down to 1 visit/wk. I had been in constant upper back pain for over 10 years and with stretching and chiropractic therapies I have been pain free since about a month after starting with Dr. Diego. His staff is always friendly and accommodating. I love getting text reminders on the day of my visit and being able to manage my appointments online is a huge plus too, although a quick phone call does the trick too. What to expect: Flexible hours, open area adjustments, three adjustment tables in the center of the room. You stretch, sign in and get on a table to be adjusted, highly competent & kind Dr. Diego, relatively quick adjustments that fit in well for folks with busy schedules & a nice staff too. My experience: I walked in with chronic pain & stiffness in my upper back & neck from being rear-ended (plus the wear on my neck from 30 years of commuting & mild scoliosis). Within 3 weeks of adjustments 3x a week, the pain was completely gone. I really liked the thorough x-rays Dr. Diego took initially & how he worked with me on what my insurance settlement would pay and how many sessions I could receive. I felt like it was very reasonable & I've received a lot of sessions that I'm still benefiting from. Plus Dr. Diego has also offered free information sessions in the evening to learn more about diet, exercise, stretching, etc which can only benefit your adjustments. I so appreciate the later evening hours available, as most chiropractors are not open till 7pm. The adjustment area has areas available for you to stretch (wobble chairs, etc.) before or after each adjustment. The office & the restroom are very clean. There's friendly office staff to help & it always cheers me up to see Dr. Diego's sweet dog hanging out too. There's a free parking lot right behind his office and the surrounding area is safe if you want/need to walk after your adjustment. After your intial appointment (paperwork, X-rays, consultation & adjustment), the rest of the appointments are very quick. I like that after a long day of work & commuting, I can drop in, stretch, get a nice adjustment and be on my way home in under 10 minutes. This works well overall for me & most folks. My concern: I've only experienced this on some occasions, with mild flare ups or with new issues that I find the the quick adjustment process to be a slight deficit & in those moments wish that care was done at a slower pace & involved more tools like ultrasound, heat, TENS machine, etc. Since these options haven't been offered to me personally, I didn't think to ask if Dr. Diego offers them. If that's something you prefer, I would call in advance to find out if those additional tools are options for your specific care needs. In regards to flare ups or new issues, Dr. Diego & his staff asked that I call in advance to let them know I was having an additional issue & that they would note it on my next appointment. I've done that- but found that it's also important to remind Dr. Diego at the time of each appointment. Still that can feel stressful to do during the quick adjustment process, especially if there's another patient waiting. Overall, I recommend Dr. Diego/Beach Cities Chiropractic. I simply feel better & my body adjusts better on it's own now. I'm much more aware of when I'm out of alignment and I understand now how important chiropractic care is to my daily health (beyond injury). read more

I happened to drive by and see the new patient special. I called right as I was driving past and a very professional receptionist was helpful in finding me same day booking for a bit later in the morning. She also told me there is parking on the back. I pulled in front and found parking immediately. The decor was cute and new unlike the stuffy old school chiropractic offices I've been with faded body maps. Dr Bognone was extremely knowledgeable and caring about setting goals and expectations on my wellness. I have been suffering on an off over the last year and after reviewing my X-rays seeing that I'm not a lost cause yet! I likely would have be seen more than I would have hoped for but they do offer care credit and nice plans to not break the budget! If you want a good chiropractor look no further! read more

I went in because I threw my back out and saw that they were running a $39 special. My normal chiropractor is in Santa Monica so I saw this as an opportunity to have something close to home. He did my first adjustment and took x-rays and had a short conversation about my goals and needs. Leaving, I thought this would be a good fit as a new chiropractor. I was wrong. When I went back for my follow-up appointment it was very clear that this business is only interested in you paying cash for their services. The dr. attempted to sell me a 12-week package to correct the issues I'm experiencing with what was clearly a rehearsed sales pitch. He wanted me to pay nearly 3 thousand dollars for this treatment plan. When I asked about my insurance he told me that my deductible was $2,600 (which shocked me, but he said that's what my insurance company told him). So I promptly said no and left. When I got home I looked at my insurance card and I have a $350 deductible and my out of pocket MAX is $2,600/year. Clearly he's either not well versed in how insurance billing works or he's more interested in his clients paying cash for something that their insurance will at least partly cover. I was so disappointed with how this business is run. read more
