The quality of medical care is exceptional! The techs in the back are wonderful as well. The front desk and check out staff do not reflect the medical team in a positive manner. Some of the front desk staff are disrespectful and dismissive. They do NOT acknowledge you standing at the desk. I have experienced this on many previous appointments but, today was the last time I would accept their behavior. I walked up to the desk and waited to be acknowledged. One woman was staring at the computer. She answered the phone once during the time I was standing there, she immediately placed the caller on hold. She was not typing. She must have been reading something. Or just ignoring me. Still never acknowledging me. The other two women had a patient in front of them. Neither one of them said anything, which is somewhat understandable. A simple, we will be right with you, from any of them, would have been great! After not being seen I asked if anyone could tell me where I was in the que. The woman looking at her computer never looked at me. One of the other ladies spoke up and checked the status for me. No one wears a name tag so no one is accountable.

It's been amazing to watch her interact with our children over the years during their different stages of development. She remembers everything about them at every visit and encourages them to continue to be good people, respect their eyes, and their glasses at a young age. I've had to call the office for various accommodations and emergencies and her staff has always been on top of things. They are always very friendly, understanding, meticulous, and work fast at helping their busy young patients. The only change that came about during the Covid pandemic of 2020 was the office doesn't accept any insurance plans right now. That's not too surprising. The office used to accept insurance before the pandemic. Hopefully times will improve and her office will accept insurance again sooner than later.

She's been performing SMILE longer than almost anyone on the West Coast, and that depth of experience is what made the trip worth it. The screening was the most thorough eye workup I've had. I came in half expecting a push toward whatever procedure made the most money. Instead she walked me through my actual corneas, explained why SMILE made sense for my prescription, and was honest about what each option could and couldn't do for me. She answered every question I had, including a few I didn't know to ask. On the day of the procedure she talked me through each step as it happened, which kept me calm. The whole thing was over in minutes. Recovery was easier than I expected. By the next morning, I could see across the room without squinting, and I was back to normal within a day or two. I'm now at 20/15, better than 20/20! If you're in LA or willing to travel like I was, and you're weighing SMILE or LASIK, she's worth seeing before you decide anywhere else. But .... he continued to have me come back for recheck after recheck for YEARS and each time made a new diagnosis, did a new procedure or test. He diagnosed macular degeneration and sold me his vitamins. He did umpteen fluorescent dye tests. He laser zapped what he said were minor detachments umpteen times. He had me on drops for unresolved inflammation of my retina for years. When I finally trusted my gut and saw a new retinologist he confirmed I don't have macular degeneration and there was no inflammation. And the drops weren't even meant to treat inflammation. It's been years and I've never needed a dye test or laser zap again so all that testing and treatment was undoubtedly just padding the medicare bill. And his office is a mill - appointments are meaningless and each visit is hours of wait time for a flash bang visit with him. Worse than all that, my husband made an appointment to see Gallemore and without notice was given some new guy. He literally wouldn't hear the history - "I just need to look at your eyes". And he sent him home failing to diagnose ocular stroke which could have killed him. The new Retinologist sent my husband from his office directly to the ER for a stroke workup. Bottom line is I think Gallemore is smart and competent but his penchant for making up problems and doing treatments and tests that are not without risk makes him a danger.
