Beach Market Hermosa delivered one of the worst customer service experiences my girlfriend and I have had in a long time. From the second we walked in, we were met with an attitude that was cold, dismissive, and openly rude. Asking simple questions felt like we were committing some kind of offense. Instead of basic professionalism, we were treated like an inconvenience, like our presence alone was a problem. The tone, the body language, the lack of courtesy, all of it was unnecessary and completely unacceptable. What made this experience even worse is that it did not feel like an isolated moment of bad service. It felt personal, hostile, and deeply disrespectful. We left feeling unwelcome and disturbed by how casually we were treated with such disregard. No customer should ever walk into a business expecting to spend money and walk out feeling belittled, brushed off, and unwanted. Businesses in a community like Hermosa Beach should be held to a higher standard than this. Respect is not optional. Professionalism is not optional. Common decency is not optional. If a business cannot manage those basics, then it does not deserve the public's trust or support. After this happened, I checked the Yelp and Google reviews, and that only made this worse. Review after review described the same kind of rude, hostile, abrasive behavior. At that point, this no longer looks like one bad interaction. It looks like a pattern. And when the same complaints keep surfacing from different people across different platforms, the public should pay attention. So let this be a warning to anyone in the Hermosa area: avoid this place. Spend your money somewhere that values customers and knows how to treat people with respect. Do not ignore the reviews. Read them for yourself on Yelp and Google. The pattern is there, and based on our experience, it is absolutely real. This was right by my hotel so I popped in. Didn't buy anything, but wanted to check out prices and see what they had in case I needed to come here. Prices are not too inflated and fairly reasonable. Maybe similar to 7-11 or gas station mart prices and similar set up and products offered. They do have a small parking lot. read more

I've been coming here for years. It's a 2 min walk from my apt. There was an older asian lady that worked there and she retired a few years ago. She was very nice and pleasant. Since the older lady reitred, the owner started working somedays. She is horrible. When I come in to buy lotto or anything, I get this look from her where she is disgusted. This one time I bought my tickets she wouldn't hand it to me. As I reached out to take it from her hands, she threw it as if I was filthy. Another time, I won $100 from one of the tickets, and she wouldn't cash it. I bought the ticket from their store too. I try to avoid coming here as much as possible now. read more

I live a couple blocks away and cannot stand this place. They've "accidentally" added things to the bill numerous times and charge ridiculous fees for using your card. Moreover the staff are always rude. A necessary evil at times, but i don't recommend this place if you can avoid it read more

I went in there today to purchase a few things for a family barbecue and was met with a very unpleasant experience. I asked the Asian lady behind the counter (who I think may be the owner) for a bit of hand sanitizer and was met unexpectedly with "WHAT???" very brash and rudely as if I was asking for something crazy. I then repeated myself and she proceeded to WITHHOLD the sanitizer from me until I said "please", stating I wasn't entitled to it so I decided to not give her my business and walked out. She then muttered "whatever" as I was leaving. Just a terrible experience, and on top of that the place is unclean and not well organized. I will be avoiding the store from now on. read more

I love this convenience store. They are so friendly here and I have never had a bad experience with the staff. I love that it is right on the beach so when I am headed out for the beach, I can just pick up a drink and snacks right before I go and get a tan. There is parking up front for customers of the store. They also have fresh sandwiches here in case you get hungry and want to pick something up for lunch and not want to go to a restaurant! I don't think the nicest people work here, but they get the job done. Came here for some water and they had a really nice selection. Not just of water, but of everything! BEST CONVIENT STORE IN HERMOSA !!! I bike there almost everyday and love everything about this little market. They have a wide variety of snacks and drinks an even fresh fruit! My favorite part of this market is there fresh made panini's , they are so delicious and perfect for an on the go lunch. People that complain they don't provide quarters for parking meters should either come prepared to Hermosa Beach with quarters or just swipe their debit card at the parking meters. This is a cute little convenience shop near the strand in Hermosa Beach. It has a big selections of soft drinks, beer, snacks, liquor to other necessities such a cigarettes, sunblock, tolietries. What's cool about this store is that there's really no other supermarket type stores within walking distance, and it's right next to the beach, so beach goers can stop by and buy whatever they need. During the summertime and holidays such as labor day or july 4th, is when this store is the busiest because people party near the beach, or come to the beach for the day and when drinks need to be replenished, Beach Market is conveniently right there, because it's walking distance and you don't have to take your car out, but if you HAVE to take your car to get necessities, Beach Market offer their own private parking lot for customers. The staff is very friendly, down to earth and helpful. This little market has survived all of the changes in Hermosa. This is a lot like a 7-11 / Circle K type, but close to the beach. A great selection of soft drinks, snacks and liquor. On a recent visit, they also offer parking for beach goers. read more

3 Stars This is the closest place by my house that I can walk to when I'm craving Reese's peanut butter cups (which isn't that often)........Last time I was there, I noticed that they had the XXtra Spicy Cheetos too (black label), so now it's my spot for two cravings. read more

I've been coming here for years, and writing a review of it as a business is difficult when I know I need to separate my memories of the area from how it has individually served my needs. Ultimately, it is what it is - a convenience store with a pretty good selection. Essentially anything you realize you forgot when packing for your day at the beach can probably be found here at its extremely convenient location. Prices are fine, I don't think there's too much room to wiggle with this 7-11 type of store. What I touched upon though was that its location is incredible, practically on the strand! If you're near pier ave or north of it this is probably where you'll go for convenience needs during an afternoon at the beach. If you get closer to the single digit streets (1st-9th st.) you'll probably head to Mickey's Deli, though their selection is much less "convenient", as they simple aren't a convenience store. Something worth touching upon is that their parking is good, which is a rarity in the South Bay (and LA in general). read more

This is the WORST store ever! The lady clerk was compeltly RUDE and gave us a ticket when we bought stuff in her store and had just ran next door for a second! What is your freaking problem??? We are fighting it! She is horrible. She refused to give a receipt or give change when you could see change in her freaking cash register! I heard from another store manager that she actually goes outside and calls the police on cars when the people are IN her store. They had to ask her to stop because that was THEIR car! Plus the stuff is completely overpriced! WORST STORE EVER! Save yourself money and time and go somewhere else. And don't park here and plan to go anywhere but the store. And make sure you listen to her on the phone, because she's most likely trying to get your car towed to make herself some extra money. I'm assuming she gets money from towing the cars. What other excuse could she have? And please! If someone asks for change instead of a $20 back, give it to them! And you have to give a receipt! TRAVELERS AND TOURIST BEWARE Store manager/owner or whoever came outside after 20 seconds telling me to leave because she has customers trying to park I told her I'm going in to buy a beverage and still was telling me to leave. I smoked a ciggerette for literally a minute and a half and she bugged me three times walking in and out and took a picture of my car to get towed. I still went in and purchased a drink at a good price and gave her an unsubtle diss to her face for being so rude. There was one customer in store and SIX OTHER CARS parked so she really needs to get a new life and job and lick of common sense.. Bought a tube of sunblock during Fiesta Hermosa, was out the doors three minutes and found out I didn't need it after all. Went in to get my money back and was told that all sails are final. I was showed a small sign which was located on a counter top down an aisle I didn't traverse, it was not posted anywhere near the registers, and the clerk did not mention it. I asked for an exception and was told by two clerks and finally the manager (possibly the owner) that they did not have the authority make that decision, and when I asked to speak to someone with the authority all the refrain was "not here, not here", which I have learned from dealing with this kind of slimy retailer in the past, is a lie. There is always someone in the store with the authority to make this type of decision. I laid the item down declaring that I had officially returned it, and that is was on them to do the right thing and left, learning of yet one more slimy retailer I will never visit again. read more
