Not sure why I have not reviewed this place yet seeing as I have been going to Megan for 3 years! Clearly she has remarkable waxing skills if I haven't even TRIED looking for another wax place when she isn't available. If I can't have Megan, I guess I am just not getting waxed this week and I will wait until next week to get a wax! Although waxing is currently a luxury that is currently out of my budget, as soon as I save enough and I need a bit more pep in my step, Megan will be who I go to for my Brazilian! Truly impeccable! After moving, I needed to find my go-to waxing place STAT. I was going to search Yelp for places nearby, but my husband suggested I scour Groupon, since finding a deal is always a plus. I was weary, since my experiences with Groupon in the past have been disappointing at best (for hair salons). But, I found GlamorUs Esthetics on Groupon and found some really stellar Yelp reviewers raving about Michelle's services. I called her, left a message, and received a very quick call-back (within I think an hour, not sure). I assumed she would be booked the same day, since great aestheticians are always busy, but we found an appointment for the next day. Her location is within Salon Republic, and she's housed in studio 9. Free parking, yay :) Her individual studio is so clean and Michelle is very professional, but also very sweet, and a great conversationalist (you pretty much have to be, to be dealing with peoples' down-theres!!). She uses hard wax for bikini waxes and I really have to say, this was my most "comfortable" wax I've ever had! I used to go to Hollywood Waxing Studio in Virginia and I thought THAT was relatively painless, because as long as you went regularly, your hair would thin out and you would get "used" to it. But oh goodness - Michelle just knocks it out of the park! I used to have to take a mental countdown before removal, but with Michelle, I really didn't even skip a beat during our conversation! I decided to get brows done as well, since she has a Yelp $5 eyebrow waxing (normally $15) deal. I was so happy that while at a stoplight driving back home after my appointment I seriously logged onto Groupon and purchased the 3 Brazilians for $55 with GlamorUs! Can you imagine an $18 (normally $40) brazilian?! I can't, that's an incredible deal! I personally don't go for the Brazilian and opt for the "Hollywood" instead, which is normally $35, so $18 is still great! At home I paid $42 for the same service, so at least the move to Torrance is saving us by means of a wax job! =P For a Brazilian ($20) + eyebrows ($10) = $30? That's insane. So much cheaper than even just a wax at home! I'm just mind boggled! The Brazilian for $20 deal on Groupon only lasts for so long, so snag one up and book an appointment with Michelle! The usual work & work but talking to Megan while getting waxed makes my work life the best selling autobiography...Megan is that friendly. I've been going here for about 2 years and its the best place for waxing! Michelle runs it and she is super sweet and makes you feel really comfortable. The wax this shop uses is really good and doesn't hurt like other waxes, it sticks to the hair rather than the skin so when its pulled it's really not even bad.
