5 stars I've been coming to Rina's Beauty Studio for years (ever since I moved to the area) and Fami is usually the one who does my brows. She's always super friendly and actually remembers me, which I really appreciate. I get my eyebrows and upper lip done for $14. They have a board with all the prices clearly displayed, which is nice and straightforward. It's affordable and the results are consistently good. The place is almost always busy, which makes sense because they do solid threading plus facials and waxing too. You'll see moms with their daughters, couples getting services, and people chatting with Fami like they've known her for years. It has a really nice, friendly family vibe. Quick tip: they're closed on Mondays. I didn't realize that one time and "cheated" on Fami by going somewhere else. That place left my brows way too thin and short, not how I like them at all. Fami was able to help shape them back the way I prefer, which I was really grateful for. Fami does a great job and I always leave happy. We were seeking a quick and local eyebrow wax to save time and money. Found both right here. We could have walked over, but wanted to practice driving so we found ample angle parking around the corner on Border Avenue. Rahima answered the phone and was available at 5:30 on Thursday night. My GF sat right down and got a professional eyebrow wax in short time. Also inexpensive compared to fancy salons with lots more overhead. Definitely smart to ask the price before you sit down. They were both so friendly and I immediately started a conversation with them. She did such an amazing job with my brows and mustache. I use to come to this place 3 years back, I stopped going because I found a better threading salon.My threading place is closed due to COVID, I called this place yesterday to see if they are taking any appointments.This lady called Fami picked up the phone, I told her if Rina is available for appointments. She asked for my name, when I told her my name she immediately told me that they will not provide service to me because " I give the girls a hard time" I was flabbergasted! I told her I have not been to this place in 3 years and I only did my eyebrows with the owner Rina.Then she proceeded to say that she was Rina ( lady I know how Rina sounds).Then she apologized for mistaking me for someone else and said it was a misunderstanding and told me to come on Thursday! There is no way in hell I will be going to this place after how the lady treated me on the phone! I dont even know if they actually misunderstood me for someone else or they were talking about me.I remember I did my eyebrows with the owner and I was always specific to how I wanted by brows to be.You cant just shape by eyebrows however you want, if the owner Rina thought I or some other girl gave her a hard time with the brows just because I had a specific request than it truly shows their ability to shape eyebrows! Plus why didnt Rina ever tell me she could not provide service 3 years back! I am still confused and still in a bit of shook.Had to remind myself why stopped going to this place? They never gave me the brows I wanted. Located along cabrillo, Rina's is the corner shop. Parking can be a nightmare since you park along cabrillo or in the residential areas. I've been coming here since this place has opened! The shop itself is very small with two chairs used for threading and a back section for waxing. I was there a couple of days ago and the girl who has taken over for the most part said that Rina has been sick for over 30 days. I haven't seen Rina in a while. Hopefully she is OK! Compared to other threading places, Rina has the lightest touch that I've noticed! When she did my eyebrows, it did not sting! She does it quickly and does a great job. She takes her time and is very polite. The other lady that is mostly there also does a fantastic job. She seems younger, but she does quality work! Quick tip: don't come closer to closing because the younger girl will turn you away. All in all: nice place to keep those eyebrows looking good! read more

Fami is the best! I've been going to her for years now. I had a terrible incident where another threader made my eyebrows completely uneven, however Fami was able to save my brows! She makes the brows symmetrical and likes to keep the brows as full as possible. Usually other places I've been to will do a high arch and thin out the brows. Ugh so bad! I came here to just get my upper lip done. I normally get it waxed but I was recommended to come here from a friend. The treading was not as painful as I imagine it would be. I was going to go to a wedding and wanted to get the side of my face treaded as well. Fami was great and super patient with me. She explained to be the benefits of threading over waxing. This place was a cute little shop with with a pair of comfortable seats. There is a small waiting area inside, however, once you walk in, you are immediately greeted. I appreciate the friendliness as well as the cleanliness of Rina (owner) as she threaded my eyebrows. She sanitized her hands and instruments every time she went to work on me. Rina's Threading Studio is located a few houses down from where I just moved to so I thought I would give it a shot, especially since the place I used to go is more of a drive for me now. To be totally honest I didn't go in with high expectations because I've never actually been 100% happy with the way my eyebrows look when I get them done. I've gone to high-end places, small places, and usually leave feeling like the service was just okay. Most of the time it hurts too. I didn't experience any of those feelings with Rina! I kid you not, the way she threaded my eyebrows was completely painless!! Better than that, all I asked her to do was clean them up but the end result was much better than any other service I've gotten for them. Aesthetics aside, Rina was also very personable and friendly! Her shop is not on a busy or crowded street either, so it was quiet. I'm so happy with where I moved because coming back here is a no-brainer for me. :) read more

No way else explain her but awesome. She's super nice, and unlike a lot of other eyebrow threading places, she takes her time with you to make sure its right. I've been to places that charge around the same amount as her and just rush to get them done, but with Rina she definitely doesn't do that. She picked up the phone right away, she scheduled me in, and did an amazing job with my eyebrows. It was my first time here and she was the most lovely human being. I have absolutely nothing to say that's even remotely negative. The shop was clean, she was lovely, and the service was incredible. I completely support her. it's worth it and it's super cheap compared to other threading places. I've gone to Vogue and other studios and they were all really mean and incredibly hostile. So this place really went to the dumps after my first visit which was awesome. I tried the place 2 more times both times the owner was not there and the the staff she has in place are not the most professional. The second time I was there 2 things got me really frazzled 1) the technicians child was there crying the whole time and she was the only one there. She had to go between customers and comforting her child. Just took way too long and was nerve wrecking for me. 2) When I approached to pay she mentioned that I couldn't use the card even though they had a tablet for this purpose. so I had to go get cash and come back. Which was quite annoying The last time and there was a person stretched out laying down on 3 chairs and told me that the owner was gone and to come back in 10 mins even though the sign said open. I've been going to Rina's for about a year after my daughter told me about the place and my former threading location closed. My daughter and her friends have been going for years. When I first went, my first impression was that the place seemed dark and dingy. And the staff was curt, but not unfriendly. I took it as a cultural issue. Not everyone is bubbly Californians. When I went back yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised that they had rearranged and perked the place up. They could certainly make it even more welcoming and comfortable (changing the window treatment would go a long way to improving the place), but I would no longer say it looked dark and dingy. What has sold me on the place is the value. They do a great job at shaping my eyebrows. I know from the variety of eyebrow shapes that my daughter and her friends have that they are good at whatever shape you want and take direction well. And they only charge $6. So even with a generous tip, you're out of there for under $10 and less than the "price" any place else I've been. And like most threading, it only takes a few minutes. And there is usually no wait. Once, I did have to wait about 10-15 minutes because there were two people already "in the chair" and a third waiting (and of course that was the one time I was in a hurry!) But normally, you get helped when you arrive. The service yesterday was more friendly than I've seen in the past. Perhaps they're reading their yelp reviews. :) Personally, if someone does a good job and isn't "mean", I'm fine with "down to business" interactions. Someone said parking is a nightmare, but actually with parking on both sides of the street and in the middle of the street and the curb (so a total of four lanes of parking!), I find there's never a lack of parking. Grant it, parking in the middle of the street is unusual, but parking is parking and it's not unsafe. read more

today was my first time visiting this studio and as soon as i walked in, i was welcomed with open arms by i believe was the owner of this studio. a friend introduced me this studio bc of how cheap it is for an eyebrow clean up, $8!!! you won't find that price anywhere else. she was so nice and making conversation with me and making me feel comfortable. she did my eyebrows in less than 10 min!! that's way quicker than any other eyebrow studio i've been to. i totally recommend coming here!! price is good, they're so nice, and their service is quick. who can beat that? i walked out with some bomb ass eyebrows :) read more

I'm all about picking up the phone while they do my eyebrows (you know, they have to answer to other clients calls), but this younger lady seemed to be having a personal conversation.
