My dad and I have an unspoken…read morerule that when we are driving anywhere, so long as we don't have a flight to catch or something time sensitive, that if we see a really cool looking business of any sort we immediately pull over to check it out. We were visiting Ft. Myers area and thought this looked like a fun stop so we did just that, and were not disappointed!! SO much to look at, and the best part is that everything is handmade! Some things are imported from other caribbean islands, Indonesia, and a few other places, but most of the stuff is collected and made in shop by the owners themselves, Tim and Kitty, which just makes it feel all the more special! We could even hear Kitty sawing away at something in the back while we were there, just made the experience even more real. We talked to Tim almost the entire time we visited, he is one of those genuine, good, down-to-earth people and I really loved chatting with him. There was endless art in the store and it was super cool to hear the stories behind a lot of it and the process of making some of the different pieces. Tim also gave me an adorable lil shell turtle for free before we left, how sweet! Even if you don't end up buying anything definitely check them out!

We recently moved into a new home in Orlando and Cheryl helped to make our new house the perfect home. Combining her awesome ideas and suggestions, with all of the furniture and decor offerings, etc.. we were able to make our house feel home-y, modern and most importantly, us!!  Even if you are not looking for design advice, Retreats of Florida Design also has a beautiful storefront, showcasing furniture, decor, ideas and so much more!  It's a pleasant experience just walking in and looking around.  We can't thank this awesome team enough for making the entire process easy and efficient.
