"NO REGERTS" . . . sorry, we were having a good time! One word: wonderful. If you appreciate world-class customer service, Beach Realty is the rental company for you. The friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff is the best in the business. Our housekeeping and maintenance requests were taken care of posthaste. Our cottage, "No Regrets," was in a convenient location, had comfortable furnishings and a nice layout. The front deck overlooking the ocean cannot be beat (would be nice to have more high chairs!). While the kitchen is nicely equipped, the pots and pans are really showing their age. Love the hot tub. Lounge chairs on rear deck need attention, though. Our nitpicks would be just that and not worth mentioning here. Our only regret: we stayed for two weeks, not three! read more

My friends and I were extremely excited with our choice of The Sandbar for our girl's trip, this year. Two of us arrived on Saturday and the others were due to arrive the following day. We CAREFULLY selected our home due to 2 RELYING on the elevator to get up and down the stairs. Upon arrival, one person who RELIED on the elevator due to mobility issues was UNABLE to exit the elevator. The mechanism which unlocks the door upon its arrival to the designated floor WOULD NOT UNLOCK. They rode the elevator up and down trying to exit on each floor but remained STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR. Finally, after 10 minutes and much anguish (they also suffer from heart issues and severe asthma) they were FINALLY able to exit the elevator. I placed a call to the on-call repairman who arrived a few hours later. He stated the elevator was running as it should but the elevator company would need to come out to repair the door lock because if he did it would affect the warranty for the elevator. I asked him to get in the elevator to test it be he replied he would NOT ENTER IT BECAUSE HE DIDN'T WANT TO GET STUCK INSIDE. He said a work order was submitted the week before we got there and it was SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED. Guess what, it obviously WAS NOT. He said he'd call in an another work order but since it was September 13th they no longer worked on weekends. They would more than likely be out on Monday. This was UNACCEPTABLE as what would happen in case of an emergency with my friend who was dependent on the elevator? I called Beach Realty and spoke with their office manager on duty. She said there was no need to create scenarios that may or may not happen. SERIOUSLY??? She said there was nothing she could do and if something happened just call the fire department. She assured me she'd call with information from Atlantic Elevators. When it was late afternoon on Monday, I called Atlantic Elevators and was told they would not be out until sometime on Tuesday, September 16th. The office manager I previously spoke with was NOT happy that I called them. Fortunately, we had picked up a limited number of items at Food Lion and a large pizza before entering the house on Saturday. We were STRANDED on the top floor of this home for 3.5 days of our vacation. I would NOT leave my friend alone in that house if she experienced a medical emergency. Our other friend who has more severe mobility issues decided NOT to make the trip since they were afraid they'd arrive and not be able to use the elevator. I told the person I had been in contact with at Beach Realty that I was considering contacting an attorney because of the runaround I was getting. Her response was "YOU DON'T WANT TO MESS WITH THIS OWNER." That definitely was a serious threat from her. The weather on Wednesday and Thursday was not conducive for using the pool so we did some souvenir shopping and sightseeing after being STRANDED on the top floor for 3.5 days. Friday arrived with sun and bright blue skies. We made our way to the pool for what we thought would be a relaxing afternoon. Upon getting to the pool steps, we found a HUGE, DEAD RAT off to the side. ( I've included 2 photos). A call was made to BEACH REALTY and someone removed it between Friday night and Saturday morning. Our original check-out date was Saturday, September 20th. I called Beach Realty on Thursday to see if they AND the owner would grant us 3 extra days since the elevator wasn't in operation for 3.5 days and we were stuck on the 3rd floor. (NO ONE HAD RESERVED THE HOME FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 20-27th). The owner granted ONE EXTRA DAY.... OH WOW!!! I WILL NEVER RENT FROM BEACH REALTY, AGAIN!!! I rent houses frequently; however this is my first time in this area with Beach Realty. I have never rented such a dirty house in my life. The air filters were beyond dirty, the house smelled of mildew, had complimentary pubic hair, potential bed bugs, ants, pee stained mattresses , black mold, broken hot tub, dirty dishes, stained and unclean carpets, stained linens, etc. The company dispatched cleaners back to the house, but they were useless. I have never experienced filth like this in my lifetime. The address of the house is 1269 Clearwater Lane in Corolla. The house is named Dolphin's Song. Beach Realty is the worst property manager I have ever dealt with. I went from earning over $40,000 a year in income for my unit to half that when switching over to them. I thought working with them would be less work for me, but it was actually more work. Tirzah was rude and many times unresponsive. I had to ask her to reduce the price so I could get more bookings. I had to follow up numerous times to get answers. My little one bedroom unit was unimportant to her. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. I wish I had gone with a better company. Do not rent from Beach Realty or 1009 S. Virginia Dare Trail. We have rented in the OBX for over 20 years, staying in the same property for consecutive years - 1009 S. Virginia Dare Trail. The condition and cleanliness has consistently deteriorated. This year was the worst. There were mouse droppings under kitchen sink and pantry, mouse sightings, as well as mold in bathrooms, food wrappers and other detritus under the sofa and chairs and behind the dressers and under the beds. When asked for additional cleaning, were told by housekeeping that they do not deep clean between weekly rentals. When asked Beach Realty for compensation due to the home not meeting basic expectations we were told they were within the guidelines of the lease. Clearly, filth and rodents are not part of lease. read more

Station Vacation Unit 2B is a lovely home, spacious and a good layout. It's within easy walking distance of the beach access and shops. The building was in a very quiet neighborhood and met some of the other residents who were very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the cleanliness left much to be desired. We felt that the property has not been properly cleaned and inspected before we arrived, even though the rental property informed us that ALL of their properties are cleaned and inspected before being rented out. Judging by the pics below it is safe to say that no cleaning nor inspection has been done on this property! Not having an outlet cover can be extremely dangerous, especially of kids would have been present. The dryer vent has probably not been cleaned in ages and constitutes a huge fire risk. And the only reason we didn't do it ourselves was because we could not figure out where the lint vent is in the dryer. There have been a number of issues we had that, not only it took days before they were addressed, but they could also have been easily prevented: 1) The initial door code that we were given did not work when we arrived on the property; 30 minutes later we get a temporary one that was supposed to work for couple of hours and then it would revert back to the original code. We ended up using the temporary code the duration of our stay as the permanent code never worked. 2) There was no shower liner in one of the bathrooms and it took 2 days to get a liner installed and only after we informed the rental company that we will not be liable for any water damages since we informed them immediately and were promised a liner will be installed on the same day by COB, which never happened. 3) One of the outlets did not have a cover and it took 3 days to get a cover installed. 4) Piles of dust in the main living area the day we arrived. 5) The vent in the master bedroom - yes...the 2 long black lines you see on the ceiling is the dirt being blown from the vent. 6) The bathroom vent. 7) The hallway vent. 8) Kitchen light and cabinets. 9) The dryer would not work, and this is what the technician took out of the dryer vent and the aftermath he left behind on the floor and the washing machine being covered in dirt and sand and lint. read more

Very disappointed. We rented a 8 bedroom ocean front home last week through beach realty with our extended family. The house was over $10k for the week so we had an expectation that we were staying somewhere nice. We arrived to a dirty home, dirty pool (with live crabs in it) and the stay just got worse. Cockroaches were found...mold...broken 3rd floor outdoor railings..:the outdoor shower door broke and almost landed on our 5 year old. Every surface in home was dirty. We ended up buying new bedding bc it was not ok. This was our 4th time renting - we previously used sun realty but decided to try something new. Big mistake. Beach Realty does not seem to care about maintaining the homes they rent. Go elsewhere... Note - they delete bad reviews on their website. That says it all... read more

We stayed in a beach house in Duck, NC for 2 weeks, the house was ready for us to check in much earlier than anticipated. Upon entering, we found everything very organized and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, plates, bowls, silverware, etc. We had two very minor issues, the wifi didn't work and the living room TV wouldn't work. I called for maintenance and they had both items working almost immediately. I highly recommend renting from this company, we go to the Outer Banks every summer and this was our first time renting from them. We had a fantastic experience, I'll definitely be using them again. We have been booking with Beach Reality for over 8 years for a family vacation at the Outer Banks. When the virus hit we contacted Beach Reality about us not being able to make the trip this year. We live in Colorado and New Mexico and need to fly there and on doctors orders it was strongly suggested we do not fly. Beach Reality said that refunds were not being made but we could transfer our booking to the same time next year with out losing anything. So with that thought in mind we went ahead and paid our balance only to find out we are out $5,103.01 and their prior word was worthless. I would have second thoughts if you are considering booking with Beach Reality. They have scammed me out of over $5,000.00 but will never get another penny from me or anyone I know or anyone I might meet in the future. Stay Safe Joe read more

This is the dirtiest place we have stayed at. We rented from Beach Realty. Here's a list of things wrong: 1. Very bad mold smell in house. 2. Jacuzzi tub was selling point for us, wasn't usable. 3. Refrigerators and freezers dirty. 4. Ice makers didn't work. Called the office the day we got there (Saturday). Girl had an attitude. They came Tuesday to fix it and didn't start getting ice from it the day before we left (the following Saturday). 5. Screened in porch filthy. There was dirt on the floor so it wasn't cleaned before we came. Screens falling out. Spider webs with eggs in it. 6. Outside couches by hot tub dirty and moldy. Couldn't sit there. 7. Couldn't hang out in rec room. Unbearable smell, air hockey table busted seemed they tried to fix it with duct tape. 8. Black mold on shower curtains in master bathroom and one of the lower floor bathrooms. 9. BBQ grills disgusting. Never been cleaned so we did do any grilling. 10. Couldn't do laundry because washing machine only put out hot water. 11. Walk way to pool was full of overgrown weeds. Unfortunately I checked out Beach Realty's reviews afterwards and they didn't get very good reviews. They also reply to the reviews with the same answer "you have twenty four hours to report any problems". I'm sorry but people spend thousands of dollars on this and there shouldn't be any! Not to mention all the complaints are the same so they should have been taken care of. My feeling is they don't really care about the houses or the people visiting, just out for the money! I like the Beach Realty company. I was disappointed about the exterior of the house we rented "The Banks Beach House". The siding, windows and all of the decks looked like they haven't been pressure washed in years!! The bug smears all over every window and the mold on the deck was really gross. The landscape had high grass and lots of spurs in the ground. My dog had a hard time trying to go to the bathroom. The interior was comfortable. Could use some updating and carpet cleaning. I am sure as a rental in August that is expected. We had a great time! We took care of the cushions during the rainy days which we unfortunately had a lot of during our week. I've been renting houses in OBX for 11 years and routinely rent in other locations. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I'm limited to 2000 characters, so I'll keep it short. On the third day of our stay, sewage began backing up in the lower floor bathroom. The tub was full and the toilet overflowed. We called for emergency plumbing support and no one came to the house for two days. The whole time we could barely use water for fear of making it worse. On the third day they fixed the septic system, but didn't clean the bathroom, so it was another full day before the bathroom was functional. The management company was barely responsive to multiple calls and texts asking for details, a plan and feedback on the situation, which basically overtook my entire vacation. The hot tub also never worked, which we reported, multiple times, but honestly I put my energy into chasing a plumbing fix. I sent a follow up email to the management of Beach Realty. They apologized and after four weeks gave us an 8% refund on the whole week. Given the plumbing issues affected the entire house and all guests for three days, we were dissatisfied, but they are not responsive to any other resolution requests. I understand things break in homes and service can be hard during high season. This does not excuse the lack of communication from Beach Realty or any measure of proactivity on their part to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. read more

Dirty. They said they cleaned it, but I wiped an inch of dust off of the windowsill. They are awful crabby about what you were allowed to do and not allowed to do. Our "welcome gift" for a party of 10 staying in a house was one pen, one pad of paper, one small roll of paper towels, one laundry pod, all shoved in a miniature reusable bag. 603 Tide Arch Ocean Sands "Seaside Dunes C0645" Horrible experience with this management company. Spent 12,000 on a vacation rental through this company. The Hot tub was broken when we arrived and never fixed all week. The AC wasn't working for 36 hours when we arrived and they only brought out window units. We paid for the pool to be heated but was never turned on. Pool service never cleaned the pool and it quit filtering 4 days in to our week rendering it useless. The property manager never called us back after requesting it several times. Having to dispute the charge to try and received something back for the ruined vacation since they have refused to even work with me. I highly suggest just using one of the other property management services in the area. They also will not post my review on the actual house as they control the reviews. This is not an owner problem, but a property management issue. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We got to our house and it was disgusting. Dog crap everywhere, so much that you couldn't step out of your car without almost stepping in it, it was like walking through a mine field. It wasn't clean in anyway, the floors and counters were covered in a layer of oil that wouldn't come off. The microwave had a huge crack in the door, we were told when we called it was still "usable", except it wasn't, it didn't have a seal on it, which is dangerous on its own. Half the locks didn't work, not comfortable being in a house that anyone can just come into at any time, that alone is enough to not want to stay, it's a safety issue. One of the locks was ducktaped back on...when we called they were extremely rude, transferring us from person to person, they pretty much told us we just had to deal with it. It was un-liveable. We left and had to stay in a hotel that night. We are still fighting for a refund. NEVER USE THEM!! Forgot to mention the smell was horrible, I couldn't even be inside with out getting nauseas. read more

Turned Off By "Terning Point" and Beach Realty. We rented "Terning Point" (C0437), 737 Crown Point Circle, Corolla, NC 27927) from May 27th -June 3rd, 2023, for our summer family vacation on the Outer Banks. It turned out to be a grossly unpleasant experience. The property manager and leasing agent for "Terning Point" is Beach Realty Construction/Kitty Hawk Rentals ("Beach Realty"). On May 28th, we discovered standing water, an overflowing toilet, sewage- wastewater-soaked carpets, and flooding of the laundry room area and all ground floor entry and exit doorways. This emergency was immediately reported to Beach Realty. A Beach Realty employee subsequently observed and photographed these conditions and we were led to believe that help was available and would soon be on the way. Sadly, however, no repairs or any assistance from Beach Realty came afterwards for three days despite numerous follow-up text messages and phone calls requesting immediate repairs. Only on the late afternoon of May 30th, did Beach Realty offer to relocate our family to a different property for the remainder of the rental period. The attached photographs show the unhabitable conditions existing at Terning Point on our departure. The current conditions at Terning Point are unknown. We have filed a Citizen Complaint with Currituck County's Development Services Department for housing code violations under the North Carolina Vacation Rental Act and Code of Ordinances County of Currituck. read more

We rented Ashley's Retreat through Beach Realty. I would label this property as total false advertisement. The pics and description were completely inaccurate. The property was deplorable. Extremely dirty, aged and rundown. And smelled very badly. The AC did not work on the second floor. It was 90 degrees in the master at night. Carpet was brown as was the furniture. I walked around with no shoes for about five minutes and my socks were black! The exterior was just as bad. Totally overgrown with weeds. There were giant spiders everywhere inside and outside. The outdoor shower was not even reachable bc it was totally infested with spiders. The outside deck had piles and piles of dead midges. The wood was aged, splinter prone and there were nails sticking up everywhere. Totally unusable. And worst of all, there was a giant dead rat on the stairs going into the house. So gross. The ocean view was blocked by overgrown dunes. I did question this and was told that they can't touch the dunes. Then why include pictures of the property as having clear ocean views. They should include the obstructed view on their website. I was not letting my family stay there. I don't know how anybody other than college kids would want to stay there. We were able to rent rooms at the Sanderling. Beach Realty was non-empathetic at all, very nasty and unprofessional about the whole situation. Total guns drawn, immediately that we are 'not getting out of the lease'. When we didn't even bring that up right away. They claimed that they would fix it all. I went back two days later...AC was still broken. With the exception of the dead rat being removed, all other issues detailed above were NOT addressed at all. I will be contacting an attorney. Don't waste your money people. There are tons of realtors that can help you with your rentals. Don't gamble with Beach Realty. We spoke with other people during our stay and apparently Beach Realty properties are notorious for being dirty and run down. And Beach Realty being difficult to work with. And as you can see from other reviews, what we experienced is a very common occurrence. read more

So disappointed in my experience with this organization. We rented a house from them in Kitty Hawk, NC. Upon arrival, the home was filthy despite the cleaning person on-site at the time (who was cleaning the property with a minor who looked to be no older than 10 years old). They were just wrapping up when we pointed out food all over the couch and not just crumbs, but whole pieces of food under the cushions and the sofa. The floor had been vacuumed but not mopped so it was still dirty. It was the same way on EVERY floor of the house. The cleaning person stated that "it is hard to get the houses clean in such a short amount of time." We didn't want to cause a fuss as we were just glad to be there after a full day driving. By the next day, we began seeing cockroaches. They were not just in the kitchen, they were in the family room and even in the bedroom. On our 3rd day, we found a cockroach in the fridge and decided to call Beach Realty. We first spoke to Christina who said she could send someone out to spray the property to address the cockroach problem. We explained that we were not totally comfortable with this as we had very small children and dogs staying in the house. We recommended that they take care of the issue when the property was empty (between renters). Christina was neither helpful, nor had good customer service and stated that she "didn't know what else she could do." So she said she would put us in touch with a manager. Several hours later, Tiffany (a manager who is also listed in another review) called and she offered no other solution or compensation. She was no more professional, courteous or apologetic than Christina. She was defensive and at times bordering rude. She explained that the cockroaches were just "Palmetto bugs!" This is just another name for the American cockroach! She said that they are attracted to moisture and not food, which is totally inaccurate. She then told us that we should have called on the first day if we were not happy about the house and offered no solution for the apparent uncleanliness of the home. It is no wonder that this organization only has 1.5 stars on Yelp. My experience with them demonstrates exactly why this is the case. We most certainly will never rent from them again and highly recommend that you stay away from them too. read more

Happy Haven was the name of the place our family disappointingly rented. We had a great time together but this once beautiful house has not been managed properly. There were many issues of items broken and unkempt. Not fit for children and elderly, even with an elevator. After almost a week of dealing with SEVERAL agents, Jason was professional but seemed to only care about negative reviews and a "reflection" on the real estate agency. It should be a reflection on the unsafe, unhealthy conditions of " UNHAPPY Haven" and the agency! Families who are spending their vacation should NEVER have to deal with stress while on vacation. Super frustrating experience dealing with Beach Reality over the last few months. We rented a house, but had several family members become unable to travel due to COVID. The Beach Reality folks provided absolutely no compassion let alone actual help. Issues include: unreturned phone calls, directly conflicting information, promising to contact the owner to discuss options but then claiming we never asked them to make this request. The recommended travel insurance agency - specifically and directly recommended by Beach Realty - denied our claim. Overall, incredibly frustrating experience involving many hours of emails and phone calls and thousands of lost dollars. We love the Outer Banks, but I see no reason why we would ever rent from Beach Realty again. read more

Went in and the first thing I saw was an abandoned broom and a pile of sand in the entryway. The house was a complete wreck. Absolutely unacceptable. Our vacation was scheduled for May 5, 2020 and the pandemic hit we called for a refund on our rental August Rush. We kept calling and calling and no response when we finally did get a hold of someone they told us they were waiting on the owner to refund the money back to us we still had to pay for a processing fee and taxes. Spoke with Scott so called office manager and he has horrible customer service would not recommend this company at all for a vacation rental. We rented "Knottaway" just north of Duck in July. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the property- even though it had good potential. We chose the property based on its 4.5 star rating on their site. After our stay, I posted what I felt was a very fair 3 star rating. I pointed out both good and bad items, trying to help future renters make an informed decision. Unfortunately, two weeks after my post - not only was there no response, it was deleted! I tried reaching out to them to ask why it was removed. No response. To me this is a very deceitful business practice - keeping only good reviews and removing others. Had a great time getting together with our extended family but embarrassed to have spent thousands of dollars to bring them to a home that has been ill kept. The images online were lovely but It was apparent upon arrival that the operation was a turn and burn model - literally piles of bugs on the deck, dirty showers, stained carpet, trash in the yard, etc. Other properties near us were managed by the same company and we heard similar complaints. Just be aware that the bare minimum is done at their properties even though you are paying a premium. read more

At 3:30 pm Beach Realty told us that they were waiting for an inspector to see the house so that we could get in. Check in is 4pm. At approximately 6:10pm we finally got a text saying that the house was ready. The attached photos show some of the issues we found walking into the house. We had to clean for about an hour before we felt it was ok to bring our belongings into the home. We never received an apology for the condition of the home or for having to wait so long to get in. This is definitely not a company I will do business with in the future. read more

They have 1.5 stars for good reason! Beach Realty refused to provide any assistance when we could not access our rental due to road closure by Dare County in light of COVID-19 precautions. They told us they would have to contact the property owner for consent to release the rental and it could take up to 3 days for a response. When we pressed them for a more prompt reply, we received a response within an hour stating they and the property owner would not provide a refund and we should pursue a claim under travel insurance (no loss to them). On top of everything, the representatives we spoke to were extremely rude and apathetic! Is this how you treat people during a national emergency? Beach Realty and the owner of Ey Believe (K1217, 6305 S Virginia Dare Trail Nags Head, NC 27959) should be ashamed of themselves. What a wonderful example of helping those in need! Apparently, making a profit off other's troubles during a crisis is a good business model. Stay away! read more

We checked in on a Sunday (May 27th), we needed a temp passcode for the door, so I called. They gave me the password and we entered the condo. It was 87 degrees inside, so I started the air. As we were bringing our stuff up, I received a call back from these people saying "I didn't see the flag on the unit, the a/c doesn't work so there are window units in their place". First, there were no window units, second, why didn't they call me when they noticed the issue (apparently they found out that day except the neighbors said they told them about it a while ago). I called back to let them know there were no window units. "Oh, our tech is on his way with the window units". The guy shows up and only has one unit... I call them back to let them know there is no way the little tiny unit sent is going to cool this condo. The manager "Tiffany" said she would have another one brought over. After a long back and forth, we settled on them bringing another two. Tiffany told me the tech would be here with the hour, but two hours passed before he got here. Keep in mind, we are sitting in a condo in 87 degrees. We were told the repairman would be out on Monday, which they were but it was only to get the model # of the a/c unit. He told us, it would be repaired on Tuesday. Here we are on Friday still using the window units. We haven't received any follow up calls from the manager to let us know the status, etc. The condo is moist from the use of the window units. I'm asthmatic so it's been extremely rough on my lungs, but I kept thinking they'd be here to fix it. Now, about the unit itself- The sink drains are disgusting with fungus and mold inside, the shower did not work because it was stuck, there isn't a good view of the ocean from inside the unit and it's actually kind of dark in most locations within it, the chairs outside on the deck are ok but there is nothing to sit in to give an unobstructed view of the ocean (all other decks around had them), the carpet has gross stains, the furniture could use a good cleaning, and the mattress is horrible. Definitely not worth the $2400 we paid for 6 nights!! They didn't offer us anything for the trouble, either. read more

I have debated whether or not to write this review. We arrived the weekend of tropical storm Hermine. This presented a challenge for the company as they were without phone or internet service, I'm sure this created a great amount of headaches for them.The office staff were friendly and I feel they tried to help but I am a bit disappointed and will not use this company again. I took a chance on the company, since I had never used them before. When we arrived at our property the house smelled of mold and mildew and then strong chemicals. Admittedly, we are sensitive to these factors much more then others since my wife suffers with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity). However, long story short we were not able to stay in the house. We ended up spending hundreds of dollars to stay one night in a nearby hotel, and then had to rent another home from another realtor. We were traveling with one other, older couple who had already unpacked and did not want to move. The owner offered a full refund if we would relocate by Sunday morning after checking in late Saturday evening. However, this just wasn't feasible for the other couple. We were told by Beach Realty they had no other properties to offer us. I am sure again, that the power outage my have effected this. I feel like they did try, but overall I will not rent from them again. Due to lack of cleanliness of the house I ended up paying for two rental houses and hotel stays, a quick cheap trip to OBX quickly changed. I know my situation is unique and my families health presents a challenge that others may not face. However, I was not going to put our health at risk by staying in the house. Sadly, this trip cost me far more then I ever planned on spending. I will remain with the other rental agencies I have used previously. read more

Extremely disappointed!! bathrooms, kitchen, everything was not clean at "The Banks Beach House" I have been renting from Beach Realty for several years now and this is the first time they have dropped the ball . I spent my time cleaning I called the office,, told them,, they said they would send someone out to clean. She arrived unannounced, let her self in, no mask. She was there 10 minutes said she was done. Minutes after she left we discovered Hair still around the shower and on the hand held shower and black mold all around the shower doors, crumbs dead bugs on the carpet that were still there from the previous guests. I cleaned again. I called the manager the next morning she said the best they could do would be to offer me an early check in for next year. Wow! If I were a homeowner I would want to know that Beach Realty is not taking care to have my home cleaned and ready for guests and have a good reputation so that more people would want to rent my beach home. I hope that this review will help Beach Realty to improve and get back to their standards that they once had so that I would be able to rent from Beach Realty again. read more

Do not rent vacation homes from this realtor. The homes are not taken care of and are in disarray even though they have been told before about the problems of the vacation rental. They do not respond to complaints nor do they do what they say they are going to. Their houses are above the average cost and require a 25% down payment. We have been going down to the Outer Banks for over 20 years, and the home , and this realtor has been awful. The house is and was unsafe and even though I have talked to an associate and was suppose to get a call back about the problems, That has never happened. We rented a beach house through this company and the experience fell FAR short of what we were promised. The elevator didn't work, which made it very difficult for mobility-impaired family members, and the company was not responsive. There were two dishwashers in the home--but neither worked and we had to call the company numerous times before they finally sent a repairman out on the second-to-last day of our stay. No hangers in the closet, no toilet paper in the promised "welcome" packet. Furniture was falling apart, broken glass and trash in the front yard. DISAPPOINTING! read more

Although we did have to vacate our beach home early due to our group of boy cousins and friends making some bad decisions, I would not recommend Beach Realty. Once we left, they charged us for damages that were all accidental and some due to their property items being old. As others have noted, they seem to like making extra money by charging for things such as a $15 plastic pool chair being broken (these things get degraded from salt, wind, weather exposure), a small blood stain on the mattress when my nephew's scab came off during the night, and the bar from the bottom shelf of the refrigerator falling off. The appliances were in awful condition to begin with so I could argue that the refrigerator wasn't our fault, but at this point I want to be done with Beach Realty and never rent from them again. We have been renting from Sun Realty and will go back to them for sure. I have never rented a home with such old appliances! read more

For those of you considering renting from Beach Realty, beware! Customer Service is 100% awful. We did not get into our house until after 9pm. Check in was 4pm. Cleaner, not plural, singular, arrived at 710pm. One person for a 7 bed room home. She was there 50minutes. Beds were not made, linens not left for bathrooms. We were not able to get into our home until after 9pm. Another hour later, you ask??? Well, they people to make beds came in after her. We had 3 beds not made. We were in the Whistling Oyster in June. Look up the cost of the home. So unfortunate that this beautiful, uncleaned home WILL NOT BE RENTED BY US, AGAIN. Nor will we deal with the unprofessionalism of Beach Realty. Scott, Property Manager, very disrespectful. Jason, General Manager, who said this family owns the business, arrogant. I would not recommend Beach Realty to my worst enemy. Horrible horrible company. Hoping the owners of the Whistling Oyster see this. They need to know about the unacceptable experience we endured. read more

Your brokerage canceled my family's reservation a month after we confirmed it and paid a $3,000 deposit. The excuse from your personnel was that there was a glitch in the online reservation system and the week we reserved was actually not available. Why was that week available on your website in the first place? Why did it take AN ENTIRE MONTH for you to figure this out? My family shopped early to find the house we wanted and now there are no available options in that price range with like amenities. Whose fault is this? What can you do? You've done absolutely nothing, even after I've reached out to you several times to find a solution. You ignore my emails. Incredibly unprofessional. read more

We used Beach Realty in renting a vacation property. After vacating the premises, we received a phone call that there was alleged damage to the hot tub cover and they were charging my credit card. They failed to provide any documentation of damages, invoices or photos. They also fail to respond to phone calls requesting these things. Don't leave an active credit card on file with them as they will charge you whatever they like without providing any proof. read more

Uninhabitable house, run down, rusted sliders, roaches, kitchen window bug infested and doesn't close.. rowdy neighbors with barking dogs.. dead dog floating in bay.. fighting to get some refund from Beach Realty for they should be responsible for renting this home that needs upgraded.. don't believe pictures on line... read more

Called to let us know 2 weeks (TWO WEEKS!!) before our vacation that the house we had rented would not be available. We realize that this is the homeowners fault, however, when booking another house that would accommodate our group, we were forced to pay a fee when any decent realty company would have paid it for us. Will never go through them again. And if you're thinking about renting "The Lazy Lizard" in Nags Head- don't, they are who canceled our vacation 2 weeks before. Wow! Wish I would have read these reviews before renting through Beach Realty. We rented York beach house in Duck. Dishwasher was broken and we were told before we arrived. It was promised to be fixed by Monday morning. Due to COVID 19, we brought our own food and planned on cooking in for the most part. We spent a lot of time doing dishes. Very inconvenient. Monday and Tuesday came and went. I made several calls to BR. Finally dishwasher was fixed Wednesday afternoon, 4th day of our 7 days in the house. I agree with other reviewers that they don't advertise the houses honestly. The house was rundown and in need of a fresh coat of paint in most areas. These things don't show in photos. We had issues with the electricity. Most lights on the main floor did not work....weird. I won't be renting a vacation rental through Beach Realty again. read more
