We shared the Connie Cristo with turkey sausage. This sandwich was perfection! The bread is french toast and it adds a light sweetness to the rest of the savory dish. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The egg and cheese combined created a really nice, soft texture. The turkey sausage links in the sandwich were really nice. If we didnt already know, we wouldn't have guessed they were turkey. Next time we go back to Chincoteague, this sandwich is a must have for us. read more

We came here because it was the best rated (and one of the only breakfast spots in town). While the staff was very attentive, when we arrived and sat with our impatient two year old, and they refused our order until the entire restaurant had drink orders in. We let out son walk around in the back of the place near the horse decor, and the staff yelled at us telling us to not allow him to look at a plastic mug he picked up. I could understand if he was throwing it, or if you had it on a shelf up high, but they had plastic mugs a foot off the ground and he picked one up to look at it. When they finally took our order, they delivered it to say half my meal fell on the floor, although they threw in a free coffee, neither of us thought the food was halfway decent. Don't expect frills or fuss here. But if you want a delicious, homestyle breakfast at a family-owned spot, this is the place to go! It's a very small restaurant with only a few tables. We were lucky enough to grab a booth that had just been vacated on a recent Saturday morning. There was a sign posted at the register and entrance about the long waits for food due to staffing, but we had nowhere to be and did not mind waiting. With delicious, hot coffee, the wait was definitely bearable. I was wavering between a couple of options and the sweet lady slinging coffee and taking orders made some suggestions if we wanted full bellies but not a ton of food - apparently her husband makes the pancakes too big! I had a pancake platter, small size, and hubby had a breakfast sandwich. Both were good sized portions for the price. Everything was tasty. Crispy bacon and shelled eggs, just how I like them. My only critique would be on the cleanliness. There's a lot of dusty knick knacks around the restaurant and the place looks like it could use a good spring cleaning. Pretty small but solid menu. Breakfast all day as well as some lunch type sandwich offerings. Note they only are open till 2 pm. Check the boards as it seems they have a few specials that are not on the menu. The menus are actually under glass at each table which I thought was a great idea as it saves the menus from getting torn up and the tables are easy to clean. We had the Saltwater Cowboy which was your choice of breakfast meat, cheese and eggs between two pancakes and the chicken tenders with fries and coleslaw. My guy liked his breakfast meal enough to say he would order again but leave off the cheese because it was weird with the pancakes. I also liked my selection but know it was four large tenders with the sides and was enough to split between two people. There were eight tables inside with what looked to be six or eight more outside. I'm sure the get filled up quick on the weekends and in the summer. read more

We stayed at the Jellystone park (.7 miles away) We didn't call because it was so close. But while we waited to order. The woman at the register did answer the phone and take someone's order. I vote. Don't call. Just go there. It's worth the drive. We arrived during breakfast but we're told we could have lunch too. So we did! It was delicious. Everything was spot on. The service was fast and friendly. The food was so good! Even the kids cleared their plates. There aren't a lot of seats inside. But they also had outdoor seating which suited us just fine since the weather was beautiful. A must go while you're in chincoteague! read more

Family run local place. The staff was friendly and the service was good. I really wanted to love this place. Our eggs were cooked well and the portions were generous. My husbands bacon was nice and crispy. Unfortunately my toast was burnt (black not just dark brown toasted) and the pancakes were burnt on one side. I am not one to send stuff back so I ate what i could. I would have rather waited longer then be served clearly burnt food. Which is the only reason I can't give more stars. read more

Came in ... only customers waiting for a table... were standing there with open tables and servers running around but ignored for approximately 15 minutes. We like a casual place for breakfast. And this place delivered. Simply decorated with lots of ponies and about 10 tables.....not including outdoor picnic tables. I heard great things about the breakfast sandwich. The waitress/owner made great recommendations. I asked for wheat and she said rye was better. She was right. I got scrambled with bacon and hot cheddar. Cheese was also recommended. Delicious and definitely no hot sauce was needed.....it was spicy. I loved it and it was plenty. My husband was less then impressed. He said the pancakes were very dry and his eggs were over hard.....not easy....and he likes his drippy eggs. Coffee was hot and service was good. Hands down, the best breakfast in Chincoteague. If you are undecided where to go to get a decent omelette, then look no further. I was warmly welcomed by the hostess and she took my order. I had the steak and cheddar omelette which comes with cut potatoes which are way better than the generic home fries that I usually get at other places. The omelette was very well done, with generous portions of eggs, cheese and delicious steak. The toast was done Texas style with lots of butter. So good, it didn't need jelly. Worth the price. If you're looking for food that feels homemade without any frills or fuss and at great prices, stop by Beach Road Round-Up for lunch! It also happens to be one of the few restaurants open for lunch in Chincoteague during the off season (we came in January). When we stopped by, they did not have any seafood which was a bummer but I appreciate that the reason is that they want to provide the freshest seafood (not frozen) and definitely commend them for sticking to that standard! In terms of lunch, we went with their burgers. I got the special of the day: quarter pound cheeseburger topped with fried onions and fries (great deal at $5.99). The patty was seasoned well (good balance of salt and pepper and allowed you still enjoy the beef flavor) and grilled as if you were grilling at home. The fries are wide and flat (a bit different than I'm used to) and were average. My husband got a bunless version of the Coastie and thoroughly enjoyed it - he could have eaten another patty! They offered to substitute his fries for coleslaw which was nice as well. Overall, a simple but satisfying meal and the service was so friendly and welcoming - definitely recommend stopping by! read more

I'm not even sure where to start.... We waited for almost one hour for our food AFTER ordering. They notified us that multiple things we ordered were "sold out" when they brought our food out so there wasn't much we could say because we were all starving. Our French toast was made with wheat bread because they ran out of white, and didn't bother telling us. The entire time we were waiting and eating, we could hear the staff and owner arguing and fussing at each other. Hands down the most uncomfortable experience. To top it all off... NO ONE was apologetic for the experience we had. The owner even tried to charge us FULL PRICE when we didn't even get all the food we ordered!! They serve casual family-friendly fare including pancakes, sandwiches, quesadillas, burgers and crab cakes. The fun horse theme continues inside but it's delightfully subtle. Service at the round up is very friendly and I appreciate their hospitality. I also appreciate that they have good prices. Even though the atmosphere is simple I fully appreciate that they are technologically advanced. They use a remote ordering system so they can electronically enter and send tickets to the kitchen rather than having to run to the kitchen to post a physical ticket. But, even with this nifty technology it felt like it took a long time to get our lunch - probably about 25 minutes. read more

We count down to treating ourselves to breakfast at the Round-Up. The flavor-packed choices are delicious! The Connie Cristo combines several faves in one--literally a pancake sandwich stuffed with eggs, turkey sausage (our go-to) and cheese ("hot cheddar" is yummy). Breakfast bowls are ample and satisfying, as are the breakfast burritos. We can't get enough of the Connie cheddar cheese on rye with slices of pickle inside. North Herd Burger was very good - bun was crispy, meat patty was thick, sauce was great. Fried potato chips were overdone :( Surfer Queen was great. Messy. Actually wish it had more marinara sauce on it (which would be messier, yes) or even consider adding a side of sauce for dipping. Thick juicy pieces of fried chicken were amazingly fresh.
