A month ago I had all the windows in my house replaced. The 30-year old single pane grid windows are a thing of the past in my house. Our new windows are amazing!!! I never knew how much of a difference it could be just looking out of the window. Hoping to see a change in my energy bill as well. Fingers crossed! Another follow up to a review I posted 10 years ago. The windows are still functioning perfectly. A sliding door that we had installed started becoming a little more difficult to open, so I called Beach Windows to see if they had any suggestions as to what I could do to make it a little easier. They sent out a technician who took the door off the track, installed new rollers, and lubricated the tracks. It is much better now. When I asked how much I owed, he said it was complimentary. My wife and I have owned 10 homes during our marriage. Yes, we moved a lot for work. Anyway, with all homes purchased, we had to hire contractors for a variety of big and small projects. While I am quite capable of handing many home improvements, I just don't have the time to do large projects (I do have a job). Anyway, Beach Windows and Siding installed stone and vinyl shake siding on our entire home as well as many windows. The siding was a huge challenge, especially the stone around the foundation. given the different elevations of the home and its age. The team was VERY professional and worked all day in well over 90 degree heat 6 days a week. They showed up on time and worked throughout the day to complete the job in a timely fashion. Thomas Barringer, the owner, is without a doubt, the most responsive contractor with whom we have ever work with on all 10 homes we've owned. He even responded to a text while on vacation with his family in Florida. He responded quickly/promptly to any questions before, during and after the project was completed. His responsiveness is only surpassed by his friendly and affable demeanor. He is the consummate professional. Any reviews on here that are less than a 5 are, quite frankly, due to ignorance of products such as windows and their limitations . . . they are not bulletproof nor soundproof. If they were, you would be spending CONSIDERABLY more for that type of product which are not installed in homes. Update 3/17/2020 It's been a while since I've spoken about our awful decision to purchase Windows from this company. We live in a well constructed, 99.9% all brick home. They are still the single worst decision we've made since purchasing our home in 2010. We've updated many aspects of our home and always come back to our window decision as being punk'd. You can hear neighbors pulling out there trash cans and recycling cans weekly. Simple 2-way conversation between people in front of your house. The list goes on and on. It's been 3 weeks since we had our Okna Series 600 windows installed and we are very happy with our decision. They replace our original 38 year old windows and storm windows, which were an absolute pain to clean and maintain. After much research and visiting local showrooms, we were impressed with the Beach Windows product and the company. Beach Windows ripped out my windows and then discovered the new windows didn't fit. They reinstalled my old windows (see photo) and said it would be 5 weeks for the new windows to arrive. The wind and rain blew through the gaps for 5 weeks. They never offered to reinstall my blinds and drapes during this 5 week period. The owner came out a week after it happened but only to pick up his check and say he was sorry. He didn't even come in to see what we were living with. read more

The stone chimney is by far the most talked about feature of our exterior update. 2) They use their own crews. Our work crew consisted of Rob, Jason and Kevin mostly, with Rob being the crew lead, and they were all wonderful. Rob has a really great sense of pride in his work and an eye for detail. I was very excited about BWS when we first purchased our windows in 2011. We did the entire house, over $7000 worth. Now, our windows are starting to fail and need warranty replacements. I've been trying since Dec 2018 to get a sash replaced. 10 months in and still no luck. I've had to constant hound the company for information. They once came to the house, brought the wrong replacement, and just left. Never said anything about getting the right one. The blame was then put on me, asking me to get measurements and numbers. And I'm thinking- You were just standing right there!!!! I just called and checked on the replacement that was ordered in June. It's October mind you... the request was denied because the company put the wrong customer address on the claim. 4 months wasted. I don't like bad mouthing anyone, but this process has just been a mess. I really wish I could do it all over again and try with someone who I felt cared about the customers after the check was cashed. read more

I have a lifetime warranty for my windows with Beach Windows. They have changed the way they do business pushing me to the manufacturer of the windows to get replacement. This was a disaster as I had to climb a ladder to find the serial number on the top of the windows. I have not received any communication with the manufacturer since filing my replacements. This was 2 months ago. Beach Windows said they are not doing replacements because of the long wait and this procedure will streamline the process. That was their way of getting me off the phone. I had Beach Windows replace 24 windows in 2013 with the Okna brand. The installation went well and the personnel were friendly and efficient. I expected a good job and didn't have any problems until I decided to replace my siding in October 2021. This is where the problem started. Beach windows did a very poor job of insulating and sealing the outside portion of the windows. They installed them and then placed metal shroud around the outside and caulking. Unfortunately, this did not prevent the rain from seeping behind the shroud and rotting many pieces of plywood below the windows and behind the siding. This is unacceptable and very poor workmanship on their part. Now I have several pieces of plywood that need replacement I can only imagine the damage if I would not have decided to change the siding. Look at the pics and see for yourself. John, I certainly hope that your workers no longer practice this poor workmanship as I have always recommended your company due to the quality of the windows and your friendly staff; however I can no longer give the recommendation. read more

My husband researched every window known to God & man before he decided on what Windows we wanted in our home. Our house is 32 years old and I've lived in it 31 of those years and we had done nothing to our windows or siding in that time. Consequently, you had approximately 6" of sunlight coming through -- the rest was condensation. Our great room was unbearably hot in the summer and just as cold in the winter. We had several people come out to quote us on Windows and then Tom came out (the cute kid in the commercials). He was extremely knowledgeable. He offered us no b.s. No "calling the office for a better price." Just the truth. It wasn't cheap! We didn't want the least expensive window and he didn't try talking us into the most expensive window either! They showed up the same week as expected (that alone shocked us -- if you've ever done home improvements you know how rare that is!). His crew was fabulous. Ron was the 'big guy on campus' and really knew his stuff and we had a difficult issue with two of the Windows. In his fabulous take no prisoners way, we came to a meeting of the minds that made both of us happy! (Hell, I was thrilled when I heard the vacuum cleaner on!). He wouldn't leave until I was 100% question free and just as happy. Their attitudes alone kept a very crummy process pain free and he didn't know that I was nursing a migraine the whole time... Although he did throw me out of the living room cause it was going to get noisy and he thought I didn't look quite well! That thick Brooklyn accent was very reassuring. I just felt like it was okay to lay Dow. He had everything covered. Well, it's been a few weeks now and I'm still looking at my new Windows in awe. They are absolutely wonderful! For the first time in my life, I'm actually opening them to the lock, comfortable in the knowledge that I'm still safe in my house and the breeze is happiness! Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a bit of a perfectionist. The minute I order eggs Benedict at a restaurant, they all look down, 'cause they know if that sauce breaks it's going back, as often as it needs too! So imagine how I'd be, and am, about something as important as my Windows!! I'd recommend Beach Windows to anybody and everybody that's looking for a good deal at a good price with good people behind it! Now we're looking into siding... Then I'll have to find a new house to have another reason to get them out here! I really love this company, even their office personnel treat you with respect, humor and move quickly. I'm posting this after Beach Windows cancelled on us for our installation the second time. Both dates were crystal clear weather and set well in advance. They called to cancel the first time at 9:10 with an arrival time of 9-11 saying the crew called out sick - really?!! An entire crew. Left a message for owner Tom and never received the courtesy of a call back. Gets better - set the date a week and a day later for same time and go through entire process of moving furniture, washer & dryer and all blinds and hardware & they call at 10:20 to say they're not coming again. And yes-same excuse that people called in sick and can't do the job. We were replacing about a third of the windows in our home & put down half of the cost, which wasn't inexpensive, back in July. This company is horrible & clearly lacks a shred of professionalism. We'll be asking for our 50% down payment back. read more

Called 3x & wrote, trying to buy retractable screens from them. I received a quote of $1200 for a French door & front door. We said no problem. We were told the installer would call to make an appointment to measure & order the screen doors. No matter that we spoke to the owner 2x & sent messages, the installer never called! read more

We went with Beach Windows & Siding due to a referral. We ordered our door, which we were told would take 6 weeks. It took about 11 to receive this, to which I had to follow up on countless times. Their lack of customer service is atrocious. Delay after delay, they pushed us back months for our install. I will mention weather had a lot to do with it but they way they handled themselves was so unprofessional. They would reschedule on us 8-10 days out from each canceled job, when they knew our house was in bad shape and needed these doors. We finally had our door installed and today we had our contractor go over to finish the trim around the door. He let us know the door was installed completely wrong. Also, the door was installed crooked and is leaning too much into our home. We now have to hire someone to fix that issue as well. I just went over and you can see the door is visibly sagging far into the home. I would never recommend Beach Windows & Siding to anyone and will be sure none my of loved ones ever go though this with them. read more

The windows are fine, so far. The salesman, Joe Miller, was wonderful and it was he who helped me eventually get the work done properly. The original installers, father and daughter, not only were loudly arguing and smoking, but they demanded that i sign "job completed," when they had done a sloppy caulking job and left the carpet pulled up all along the wall where the 2 doors were installed.  I would not sign. She said, "You should read your contract." She was implying they were allowed to leave the job like that which was untrue. The salesman backed me up but he was told by the owner to call me back to say the company was not doing any carpet work. I spoke with the office manager and made my case to her in no uncertain terms. I had cancelled the financing co. so basically I had their windows and they had no money. The owner called me and said of course they'd fix it all. He tried to place blame on the salesman. Finally, Moises came out and saw the terrible situation. They had not put down  weatherproofing flash pan or sealed things. After a few days, Moises and Joe came out to remove and properly reinstall the doors. Trim had not been cut correctly, some was missing, and several other issues had to be dealt with. Moises's professionalism, work ethic, and clear understanding of what needed to be done was refreshing and made the finished product exactly what it should have been all along. read more

I put one star to post. They brag about their warranty during the pitch but don't back it up. I noticed a window that was leaking. Called them. Two weeks later someone called me. After they diagnosed the problem they discovered they didn't caulk the outside of the window. This was two years after the fact. They caulked the window, but I had to persistently contact them about the interior damage. They finally showed up, two weeks later, and spackled over the sheet rock damage. Search somewhere else. They brag about their warranty, but it's it's all talk. read more

The ABSOLUTE WORST business I have ever dealt with. From day one windows on our two story home in Merritt Island were mismeasured and the installation was faulty such that during storms they leaked severely, causing extensive water damage to walls and flooring. It has been over a year and a half and we still cannot get this company to remediate the poor installation of their windows. One window that was cracked they have yet to replace. They make unfulfilled promises and do not stand by their product or labor and do not return phone calls. Please take heed and DO NOT throw away your money on this shoddy company. This is an update from my prior review, so my husband went to pick up the window replacement in Norfolk from Alside and brought it home to install it, it's not the right window, so my husband called and spoke to Vanessa today again and she was supposed to call back and never did as usual so it's now Monday night, and we have to call again, like I said this has been going on for 6 months just to get a window replacement for my living room that I can't clearly see out of, we are beyond anger and hope to get this resolved soon or we will have to find legal advice, this is just unbelievable, we have worked with many companies but none as negligent as this one, we will be calling the head manager the CEO or anybody at the top who will listen, we just want our window replaced, my good friend had her windows replaced the same time as I did with another company and every time she has called they have it installed within two weeks with no problem, I am so disappointed in this company to say the least, how do you send your employee to measure a window once and get the wrong size, but twice and get the wrong window again? After an exhaustive search I signed a contract with Beach Windows to replace some windows and doors around my home based on referrals and what I judged to be a superior quality product at a reasonable price - not cheap, but a good value. The job got off to a rocky start with the manufacturer sending some incorrect components but Beach Windows stood by me through the whole process. It took multiple shipments and repeat installation days but they kept working until they had a fully satisfied customer. 5 stars would have been for a perfect installation on the first try, I'm giving them 4 because it was a bit of a hassle having to take extra days off work to get it completed but most or all of the responsibility for the mistakes seems to rest with the manufacturer, not Beach Windows. I would do business with them again and would recommend them to others. Make sure you ask for Tom and James - some of the best installers / professionals I've dealt with across various home projects - prompt, clean, courteous and true professionals that take pride in a job well done. read more

Terrible experience. Caused expensive damage to my house in more than one place while replacing the siding. For instance, one area of damage was a cut coolant line to my air conditioner. The coolant had recently been topped off, so when the big cut was done a large amount of coolant would have rushed out under pressure. Unmistakable damage. Rather than stopping and fixing the problem, the high pressure line was patched with duct tape then covered with plywood and siding. I discovered months later that the AC didn't work. It took two days to fix it. One day to have the AC people tell me the problem was with the coolant line. A second day to have the siding people pull the siding off so the AC people could repair the leak. Beach Siding did pay the cost of the AC repair but not my two days of wasted time. No apology, no call from the company, no explanation. read more

Did a fantastic job. I got 11 windows replaced, they showed up on time and were done by early afternoon. I was impressed with the speed and the quality of their work, and with their professional and friendly attitude. I have an old house and a lot of the window openings were crooked and most had water damage, they took care of replacing wood where it was needed and added trim in certain places to make the openings look clean and as straight as possible. The windows look fantastic and the whole job was very reasonably priced. I will absolutely be recommending them to family and friends! read more

We have 37 year old windows and it is time for us to get new ones!! We had at least 10 companies come out and give us prices and showed us their samples. We noticed that every company had different windows, with different quality and they differ in the construction of not only the window, but the stationery part of the frame too. I will never work with Beach Windows again or recommend using this company. The 2 guys working on my house were great and did an amazing job but I can not say the same for the folks that work in the office. Communication was AWFUL. It took over 5 months to start the project and when you sign the contract they tell you 8 to 10 weeks. Yes, they were in breach of contract by the time they started. Should have pulled the plug then but didn't, shame on us. They finished the job within a few weeks but before the job was complete they were asking for payment in full.......what? No Ma'am you will finish first! It took several phone calls and unanswered emails to get the final payment amount resolved. Overall I am satisfied with the final results of my house but unless you are ready to deal with unnecessary headaches, no communication and incomplete/wrong material ordered, dealing with a sales guy that no longer works for the company (and no we did not know this....again they don't communicate) and un-used material sitting on your property for weeks till you threaten to trash it I would not choose Beach Windows. read more

We had Beach Windows install 18 new windows in our home which was a 1950's one story brick rancher. My wife and I choose Beach Windows after researching and receiving quotes from a couple of different companies in the area. Mike did our initial consultation and did a terrific job informing without overselling. We found that for the price and quality of the window/company, Beach Windows is hard to beat. The windows took two days to install but the install team did an excellent job and only needed access to the inside of the home the first day. I would recommend Beach Windows - we had them install a new Okna sliding glass patio door as our old doors were letting in tons of water any time it rained. The door was installed last week and didn't let in a drop of water during all the rain and wind we got from Matthew. The door looks and functions great, the salesman did not pressure us at all - he gave us one follow up call and when I did call back (several months later) he remembered us and had our info, and the quote he'd given us hadn't changed. The door arrived and was installed during the time frame promised. I did have to have them come back out the day after installation as the caulk had some holes in it after it dried, but they were quick to come back out and re-caulk. read more
