(And the maintenance guy Steven and his crew). If I could just rate it on these people alone it would be 5 stars but I have to be honest and take into account my experience for the last three years. The new management team is just what was needed for this complex because the old management had the most vile, disgusting and rudest customer service. In fact, it was well known in the area when we went searching for other places to live. This was especially true when we first moved in- Leslie pretty much tossed us our keys with no explanation on where things were located. I had no idea where the garage parking was, mailbox, and where to store our bikes at (this was not shown to us during the tour) When I had asked, I was given the rudest and condescending answer by Leslie and Tania (the latter no longer is here -for that we are all grateful). So, I found the garage, mailbox and bike storage by asking random people living in the complex. I was not happy and put a bitter taste in my mouth. I avoided management at all cost because I would fear being ridiculed and didn't need that negativity in my life. Fast forward to a year ago. New management and things sudden shifted and the pandemic came in to disrupt everyone's living. I was not able to work due to pandemic. I reached out to Gabrielle and she was not only was so helpful in arranging a solution but also sympathetic. Something that lacked in the world especially in this apt complex. I've dealt with Tim as well and nice respectful man as well. With new management, the apt was able to fill up its long history of vacancy even during the pandemic which is a true testament to past customer service this place has had. We randomly reviewed a $75 gift card (not sure why) and for holidays- a gift bag of goodies! Very unexpected and a nice touch. Also, as mentioned earlier- Steven the maintenance guy is really the only reason why many stayed during bad management. He was reliable and just a very humble move gentleman. The guys he works with was also very nice and respectful. I am grateful for Steven and his crew. Thank you Greystar for finally putting in new management in!!!

I stopped by to inquire about rental availability and was disappointed by my experience. When I entered the office, an associate looked at me and then continued walking into another office without acknowledging me. Having worked in hospitality, I believe a simple "I'll be right with you" would have been appropriate. After about three minutes, Melody returned and asked if she could help me. I explained that I was looking for a place closer to work and wanted to downsize. She handed me her business card, told me to make an appointment, and then walked away. Whether my expectations were reasonable or not, the interaction left a poor impression. As a result, I will be looking elsewhere for housing.

I'm looking to move out now only because I need to find something that fits my budget a little better. I would not be looking to move out for any reason if my budget allowed me to stay here. The management and staff are attentive and responsive. The grounds are well maintained, safe and secure. Neighbors are considerate, respectful and friendly. Redondo Beach is a quieter, more family oriented beach community. I've never felt unsafe or uncomfortable walking around at any time of day near this complex or in Riviera Village. Community Ammenities: Gated, assigned and covered garage parking On-site laundry Pool and Spa Walking distance to Redondo Beach and Riviera Village Apartment Ammenities: Updated appliances and cabinets New granite countertops in kitchen and bathroom New tile in entry, kitchen and bathroom Only a few apartments have been available in the six months or so that I've lived here. There are a few openings in the apartment now, but people have been filling them quickly. If you can afford it, you will not regret living here.

I HIGHLY recommend you take into consideration the comments on property management (aside from Kelli - she is relatively new and does try to help this goat rope of a company She is extempt from this review). While the "area" may be decent, the apartments are poorly and cheaply put together. Paint splatters everywhere, cheap appliances, no AC, huge gaps underneath the island connecting to the floor, garage storages are disgusting, and that's just a few examples. This isn't even the biggest and most disturbing issue. I say again - It's property management! One person in particular = NADIA! Nadia is only responsive when it benefits her. Otherwise, you will not hear from her. She contacted me three times for my renters insurance despite this already being sent to her via text twive AND then the 3rd time threatened to charge me for not having it on file. What's mind boggling is if what I provided wasn't sufficient documentation there should've been communication. Not one time! She even said thanks when it was provided. I digress. She rides around on her golf cart to walk her dog, leaves work early to pick up her daughter & doesn't return (I can't even begin to tell you how many times I tried to catch her in the office - never there!), and doesn't even communicate to her co-workers about the issues on this property. Kelli had no idea I was moving out. Nadia knew the day I moved out, when I followed back up and randomly stopped by because of the lack of response, and NOW I've asked about my Security Deposit twice with absolutely no response. AVOID like the plague if you want your personally identifying information protected. I will be placing identity fraud alerts on our information because who knows what lengths she will go to hurt me and my family. Original review: If I can provide less stars, I truly would. Our family of 4 resided here from May 2024 through June 2025. We did the 13 month lease with $1000 off for the life of the lease (it was a promotion that was going on at the time). Nadia Padilla is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. From the start, we should've known, however due to circumstances out of our control, we dealt with the hands we were given. First, when we applied, she had a trainee, Kelly-- super sweet and kind, and Nadia GASPED audibly when she saw mine and my husband's paystubs as part of the application. And she asked us if it was ok to show Kelly-- stating she will be showing Kelly later anyways to process the application. Second, she took FOREVER to communicate material and necessary information about our application, deposit and move in date. She didn't get us a copy of the lease till we were moving in. Third, our laundry machine was out for over 2 months and I had to threaten legal action to get the washing machine fixed. She had us walk down our laundry two buildings down and use their washing machine, unload it and use our dryer in our unit. Mind you, in both locations, the washer and dryer are upstairs. To add insult to injury, she knew I had a newborn and a toddler -- so laundry was basically a daily thing I had to do. I got in contact with the service they contract with and I found out that she did not call them timely, and when the service person came to look at the washer, he then had to wait for Nadia to approve the parts for purchase. She did NOT return their call in a timely manner which caused delay. Again, UNPROFESSIONAL. This is a listed amenity. They cannot advertise it as part of the unit and deliberately delay the maintenance of it. Fourth, we noticed that our rent was not matching up to the numbers we were seeing. In the middle of our lease it appears they switched programs or providers of the rent management. We were previously able to pay rent ahead of the due date, but for some reason the rent was increasing despite meeting the balance. We finally inquired why there was such an increase and again, she was unprofessional and said every penny was accounted for in their ledger. Kelly, finally told us it appears there is a CREDIT of a few hundred dollars and advised us not to pay ahead and wait for the bill to actually show up to pay. It worked. Fifth, the garages are shared. Our particular unit, 2665 unit A, has two tandem parking spots that share with unit B- who also park in tandem. Unit B moved out in Nov during Thanksgiving. Because of toddler and baby, when we noticed they were no longer there, so at times we would park the car in the middle but we mostly parked within our lanes. Come December we were notified that cars will be parked next to us-- we don't know who. So for a MONTH two cars were parked next to us and it appeared as if it was to prevent us from parking more comfortably. We expressed concern about who the owners of the cars were because Nadia specifically said only people who live in our building will have access to the garage. It wasn't our neighbors' car for sure. Lastly, we cleaned this place from top to bottom for DAYS. Yet we were charged $500 for cleaning fee. For those of you who have the time to do a small claims, I would encourage you to. I say this because when our neighbors moved out, NO ONE CLEANED THAT PLACE WITHIN 21 DAYS OF THEIR MOVE OUT. In fact, that unit was not rented out until April-- and literally a week prior is when that unit had ANY cleaners and painters come. I know many will think this may be a one off, but I promise you it's not. I have been a renter for more than half my life at this point and I have never met a leasing manager this unprofessional. I hope you never have to deal with her.

The location may look appealing because it's close to Redondo Beach, but after actually living here, there are a lot of issues that prospective tenants should seriously take into consideration. One of the biggest problems during the summer is the heat inside the units. When temperatures outside are in the 80s or higher, the apartment can become absolutely blazing hot. The building is very old, and the units seem to retain heat extremely well. Even at night, when it has cooled down outside and there's a nice breeze, the inside can remain unbearably hot. It feels like the building absorbs heat throughout the day and continues radiating it into the units long after the outdoor temperature has dropped. The design of the property also makes the apartments feel very cramped and dark. Our unit gets very little natural sunlight, so even during the daytime it can feel gloomy and depressing inside. Another major issue is the smell around the property. Despite management telling residents not to allow it, some dog owners continue letting their dogs urinate throughout areas of the building/property. The smell of dog urine is noticeable in many areas and makes the property feel poorly maintained and unpleasant to walk through. The parking garage exit onto Prospect Ave is another serious negative. Prospect is a busy street where cars frequently travel fast, and cars parked along the street can significantly block your view when you're trying to pull out of the garage. There have been many times where exiting feels like you're playing accident roulette because you simply cannot see approaching traffic well enough. In my experience, it feels unnecessarily dangerous. If you have guests or a roommate with another car to park on the street, you can forget about it. They'll be parking very far across the street in the residential area or competing with others to park somewhat close. The common laundry area has also been frustrating. The washing machines frequently leak, leaving puddles of water on the floor that residents have to walk around or through. Noise is another issue, particularly on weekends. There have been tenants playing loud music late at night, which adds another layer of frustration when you're trying to relax or sleep. Overall, living here has been a bad experience for me. Being close to the Beach sounds great on paper, and I think that's what makes this property somewhat deceiving. Once you actually live here, the heat, lack of natural light, urine smell, laundry issues, late-night noise, cramped design, and dangerous garage exit onto Prospect Ave significantly outweigh the benefit of being relatively close to the beach. If you're considering moving here, I would strongly recommend visiting the property at different times of the day and night, checking how much natural light the specific unit receives, looking at the garage exit onto Prospect during busy traffic, and walking through the common areas before signing anything. These are all things I wish I had taken more seriously beforehand. The location may initially look attractive, but in my experience, there are simply too many negatives that make day-to-day living here unpleasant.

All of the neighbors were friendly, and the kids were respectful of the common areas. Very quiet at night. The maintenance staff handled all service inquiries promptly and with personal care. The property manager, Lorena, ALWAYS greeted me with a smile and a check in, which made living there feel truly like home. She went over and above her required job, even wishing me well on holidays, knowing my family was on the East Coast. My only recommendation is to convert the on-site laundry to a card system, although if keeping the coin system keeps costs low ($4 a load in 5/2026), maybe no change is needed! Ocean West is in the heart of a quiet, residential community and adjacent to a school with plenty of on street parking for guests and walkable to 711, Walmart, PetSmart, and Tokyo Central. Very close to Del Amo Mall and an 9 minute ride to the Esplanade in Redondo Beach.
