We lived at Crystal Cove and we loved, loved, loved every minute of it. The location cannot be beat, as it is right on the beach. The apartment complex is very well-maintained and managed. There is assigned parking in a gated and secured area with controlled access. Tenants are given remote control garage openers for parking, and key fobs for the complex entry doors --front and the beach access. The complex is designed with the tenants' needs in mind --garbage chutes, foot wash at beach entry door, recycling containers, gym, indoor and outdoor lounge, etc. For being on the beach, our apartment is surprisingly quiet day and night. Our windows and doors were always open to let the cool, fresh air breeze in. If not for work relocation, we would still be there. read more

I have lived at Crystal Cove for over 6 years. I have an amazing view of the harbor and Palos Verdes. The complex is steps away from the beach. The property manager, Matt Yarc is professional and very resident focused, improving the pool area, the outside landscape and making major improvements to the interior of the apartments. He responds in a timely manner if I have a concern or request which is a big plus when renting. The maintenance team, led by Spencer is quick to take care of our service requirements. It would be difficult to find a better community to live at in the South Bay considering the five star location, price and management. read more

Living at Crystal Cove is a fantastic experience! The place has all the amenities- pool, gym, laundry facilities- all perfectly maintained and clean. The people living here are friendly. And all of this reasonably priced and RIGHT ON THE BEACH!!! The views are spectacular, relaxing and make this place home. I can hear the ocean from my apartment- so amazing! Completely Unimpressed with the lack of management's inability to give you the facts about the rentals. Numerous unreturned calls, emails not returned and shady approaches to running a complex that don't instill proper managment or services. Coming from a laid back beach community in hawaii, I know exactly what its like to be on island time in a workplace as well as living in a community and this place by far is a negative - 10. If the management cannot act as professionals trying to properly onboard tenants what does that say about the tenants when living there? Premises smelled like weed, and there seemed to be considerable water damages on many of the property grounds. If you are in party hermosa mode this place is probably good for you, but if you are young professional expecting a great unit on the beach as it compares to other exceptional apartments in the area, definitely drive on by and don't think twice here. read more

I have been a tenant here for 2 years now, unfortunately I will be moving to Florida in a few weeks. Sad to leave this beautiful complex, my experience here was nothing but amazing. Perfect location right on the beach! Next to bike path, convenience stores, restaurants, parks and gyms, what more could you ask for. To top it all off the staff here is exceptional. They keep this place really clean and always respond to maintenance issues quickly. The manager Matt Yarc is a great guy, very professional and friendly. Considering that he has all these units to look after, he seemed to find time to address all my needs in a timely manner. Bottom Line Up Front: Crystal Cove is the best residence I have lived at in over 13 years of military service that has had me residing at numerous apartments and houses across the country and I would HIGHLY encourage anyone looking at living in/around the Beach Cities to strongly consider it. They also have the best management and maintenance team I've ever worked with supporting this great community. Crystal Cove's location cannot be beat. It is the only apartment complex I found in LA that actually extends out on to the beach. As a result, the views of the ocean, adjacent marina and Hermosa Beach are unrivaled and the complex offers direct beach access through a dedicated entryway (complete with foot showers to get the sand off your feet after running around on the beach). It is physically located midway between the Hermosa Pier and Redondo Pier, offering residents the ability to walk either (~0.6 miles to the North to get to Hermosa Pier or ~1 mile to the South to get to Redondo Pier). This affords flexibility to be able to explore many restaurants and community events within a fairly reasonable walking distance. It is within an inexpensive Uber ride to Torrence, Manhattan Pier, Southern Redondo, and El Segundo. They also offer an extraordinary program where residents can move to a different apartment within the community without breaking their lease (with some minor caveats). This allows residents to have the flexibility to upgrade the size of their apartment or get a better view of the Marina or Beach even if one might not be available at the exact moment they have to move in. I can't say how much I appreciate this program, as their apartments with a beach view may not turn over in the same timeframe you need to move in but this still gives you a very reasonable way to get the view/size you want later down the road all the while living in an exceptionally enjoyable community. Crystal Cove and its management, maintenance, and cleaning staff exhibit extraordinary care for the Crystal Cove community as a whole, but what I found truly remarkable is how much they also care about every individual that resides there and their unique needs. They have worked hard to create a living space that provides a very high quality of life and create programs and policies that help offer that quality of life fairly for all their residents. I had a constant feeling that Kim, Matt, and Spencer were indeed not only caring for the holistic well being of Crystal Cove, but also that they cared about addressing my needs in every way they could. It is regrettable that some of the reviews here are from some experiences to the contrary, but personally I found that the management and maintenance teams were always very prompt in both acknowledging receipt of any calls, texts, or e-mails, even after normal working hours. The only downside I ever encountered was the lack of in-unit laundry facilities, but the location of the complex's laundry facilities and the prices they charge are reasonable. read more

To quote a previous honest review - I can vouche that this has been my experience here as well - Matt seems like a great guy, very friendly, but did a questionable job onboarding me as a new tenant. I was left in the dark with a ton of stuff including my water and electricity bill set up and it was my first time moving out on my own so I was lost for months with unanswered texts, calls, & emails - then suddenly asked to pay up for missing payments I had no idea about- really stressful - Also worth noting, the neighbors will bang on walls to shut you up if you play music at even a medium-low volume (so if you are a musician of any kind, pray you avoid this place - they are so far removed from reason its baffling - I was also lied to about this being told that quiet hours are 9pm-9am & outside of that I can do as I wish - which I abided by but after moving in I can tell that was a lie and I'll just get people banging on my walls if I attempt anything whatsoever at any time), but its okay for them to play music as loud as they want when they want and no one will do anything about it - real bittersweet first time renter experience honestly as a professional at home worker - Also, stuff keeps breaking randomly around the place (luckily, maintenance is a free service and is really good at being responsive): "Completely Unimpressed with the lack of management's inability to give you the facts about the rentals. I have to say that I'm surprised that this place only has 3 stars. My wife and I just left after almost 4 years and we loved it. We moved to get bigger place that was less money and it was a hard choice. The management team is awesome: Kim, Spence, and Matt. I gotten to know them well over the years and they are good-hearted people. Every request was taken care within a reasonalbe time frame. Our apartment and location was great. My wife and I can see renting out a place in the future to go to as a little beach get-a-way... Thank you Spence, Matt, and Kim for a great 4 years! It has taken me a few months to write this review because I am in denial that I don't live here anymore!! (I moved to Europe for MBA school). I spent 2 wonderful years living in Apartment #219, with a gorgeous view of Palos Verdes and the ocean. I could hear the waves crashing and the seals talking as I sat in my apartment... it was a dream -- no where else in California can you get the experience that Crystal Cove gives you. The location is 5 stars, the amenities are great (pool, clubhouse, gym, private door with direct access to the beach!!), and every apartment is kept to the highest standard (I was extremely impressed with how good the maintenance team is (thank you, Spence!!) and how they are constantly updating apartments with the newest/best features). When I first moved into my apartment in 2020, they did such a good job renovating it that it seemed like it was brand new. Every person I met at Crystal Cove was friendly and welcoming. From my first day to my last, I can truly say it was an enjoyable, relaxing, safe and friendly place to live (even throughout the peak of the pandemic). Matt is a fantastic property manager and it is clear that he genuinely cares about every tenant on the property. He goes above and beyond to make it feel like a community. I always felt like I was being taken care of anytime I needed anything, he responded within seconds. I especially appreciated that he lived on the property because I knew he cared just as much as anyone living there that it was a 5 star living experience. I will continue to be in denial that I no longer live here, and would recommend Crystal Cove to anyone looking to move to the area. WORST APARTMENT RENTING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! First off, I lived here7 years ago and decided to move back because I had THE BEST experience. Apparently management has changed and now my renting experience has been THE WORST. Based on other reviews I've read online and about the specific individuals I'm mentioning here, I'm not alone. The on-site manager Kim and Owner / General Manager of GGE Management LLC, Patrick have been dismissive of concerns I've had regarding the HUGE flag my neighbor has hung on their patio, blocking the expensive view I'm paying for, since I moved in in April. I uploaded a picture of my neighbor's flag for your reference. Again, I rented this unit for the VIEW and my neighbors have put these items up and are refusing to take them down, despite them being, per my understanding of the "House Rules" I signed in my Lease, against policy. I've reached out to Crystal Cove for assistance and Kim has given me the run-around. She'll reply and not even address my specific concern, as though I didn't even write it. That's just one example. I've looked online and I have read dreadful things about tenants of Crystal Cove's experiences, specifically with Kim and Patrick and I am disappointed and disgusted with the way they treat tenants. I've contacted lawyers and what I've heard is, "despite the fact that the way they run their business clearly lacks integrity, they don't have to communicate with their tenants. It would be nice if they did." When I heard this my jaw dropped! Basically my understanding is that legally, despite the lease I signed, I have no rights and Crystal Cove does not have to uphold the lease parameters if they don't want to. And based on my experience, they don't want to, UNLESS IT'S SOMETHING THEY NEED AND WANT. It's a one way street. That said, based on their behaviors, I assume the owner of Crystal Cove Patrick and the manager Kim know their rights and privileges and use it to their advantage and to their tenants disadvantage. I don't know how they sleep at night and I am disgusted. Based on my research, the law really does not protect tenants, so if you choose to move into this building, it will be at your own risk. Definitely don't pay the high rent if it's the view you want, because based on my experience, that's not a guarantee. read more

We lived there a few years ago and although the view facing north towards the sand and ocean was awesome from the second floor loft, We finally moved out when our lease expired because of TWO main issues; the number of stuck-up rude stoned assholes who also lived there, and the management staff that didn't give a damn about excessive loud noise or explicit drug use everywhere. The walls are so thin, we could hear the neighbors banging away over the sound of the waves. The recent upgrades were nice, but the scumbag type clientele of the complex outweighed the outrageous rent that we paid. Great at time in years past, but not any longer. read more

I have been living in this apartment complex for five years now. Even with the high price for rent I think it is one of the best apartment complexes in the South Bay. The management is very nice and the new Assistant manager Matt has been very helpful in getting the apartments updated at a rapid pace. If you are looking for the best location in town it does not get any better. It's right on the sand with a location much closer than the multi-million dollar houses on the strand for a fraction of the cost. Lots of love for the crystal cove! read more

Crystal Cove is a Great place to live. Just steps to the beach. The sunsets are amazing, especially riding a beach cruiser with your friends on The Strand. There is free Internet in the lounge where you can kick back relax, watch tv or if you are like me studying for your certification renewal for work. There are a lot of friendly neighbors here. Say hi and you're sure to make great friends that you'll call family. A lot of things to do on the weekends and the weekday. To the north you have Hermosa Pier and to the south you have Redondo Pier. A lot of restaurants to go to. During different times of the year you have free concerts and activities to do. The best part about that is you don't have to find a parking spot because you have gated entrance with your own spot. If you want to grill there is a little park not to far from Crystal Cove called South Park. There is picnic tables and charcoal grills scattered throughout the park. I hope you call this home and become part of the family. read more
