My neighbors are friendly, management - Vonny and her team are amazing and the location is prime real estate - close to everything including the beach. The property is quiet which is ideal for adult/retiree living. Amenities include a beautiful pool (although always cold), BBQ grill, laundry room, a great room with games, ping pong table, exercise equipment, weights, sofa and chairs for lounging. The complex is well-kept and managed - Vonny does an excellent job. The Al and the maintenance team are attentive and provide a speedy response and repair to any maintenance and/or repairs. I would highly recommend Emerald West to adults/couples/retirees if it meets your needs, a place of peace and good energy. I will miss being here!

All of the neighbors were friendly, and the kids were respectful of the common areas. Very quiet at night. The maintenance staff handled all service inquiries promptly and with personal care. The property manager, Lorena, ALWAYS greeted me with a smile and a check in, which made living there feel truly like home. She went over and above her required job, even wishing me well on holidays, knowing my family was on the East Coast. My only recommendation is to convert the on-site laundry to a card system, although if keeping the coin system keeps costs low ($4 a load in 5/2026), maybe no change is needed! Ocean West is in the heart of a quiet, residential community and adjacent to a school with plenty of on street parking for guests and walkable to 711, Walmart, PetSmart, and Tokyo Central. Very close to Del Amo Mall and an 9 minute ride to the Esplanade in Redondo Beach.

Even with not living there for 3 months, they still go above and beyond. My mail order pharmacy sent my medication to my previous address there and would not resend it. I contacted Nadia and let her know the situation, she was extremely attentive and was able to track it down and secure it for me until I was able to get it picked up. I really appreciate all the help that we endured in our time as residents there and will continue to recommend those looking for a great apartment in a great location of the south bay, to them. I HIGHLY recommend you take into consideration the comments on property management (aside from Kelli - she is relatively new and does try to help this goat rope of a company She is extempt from this review). While the "area" may be decent, the apartments are poorly and cheaply put together. Paint splatters everywhere, cheap appliances, no AC, huge gaps underneath the island connecting to the floor, garage storages are disgusting, and that's just a few examples. This isn't even the biggest and most disturbing issue. I say again - It's property management! One person in particular = NADIA! Nadia is only responsive when it benefits her. Otherwise, you will not hear from her. She contacted me three times for my renters insurance despite this already being sent to her via text twive AND then the 3rd time threatened to charge me for not having it on file. What's mind boggling is if what I provided wasn't sufficient documentation there should've been communication. Not one time! She even said thanks when it was provided. I digress. She rides around on her golf cart to walk her dog, leaves work early to pick up her daughter & doesn't return (I can't even begin to tell you how many times I tried to catch her in the office - never there!), and doesn't even communicate to her co-workers about the issues on this property. Kelli had no idea I was moving out. Nadia knew the day I moved out, when I followed back up and randomly stopped by because of the lack of response, and NOW I've asked about my Security Deposit twice with absolutely no response. However, a couple of drawbacks are the absence of charging points in the apartment's garage, which prevents me from charging my electric vehicle, and the lack of dumbbells in the gym area. These were clearly communicated by Marylou during the site visit. However, it would be greatly appreciated if these amenities could be added in the future. Its part of one of the best school district in LA and a family friendly neighborhood. Its close to various eatery joints and super markets-(Costco, Walmart, VONS, Ralphs) within short driving distance.

The manager on site, Karra, is the best and I couldn't recommend living here more. She is very helpful and always willing to work with you. My husband and I moved out before our lease ended because we bought a house and she helped us get our apartment leased as soon as possible so we wouldn't be stuck paying the apartment and a mortgage. We register her and NOW she says she has no record of it? Mind you there are dogs barking all day and pussing all over the place. Madeline is also great and has been so helpful! The maintenance team has also been wonderful. Invest the time in your apartment search to look elsewhere! Azure is a great spot to live, albeit…read morewithout any amenities to justify such high rental rates for the area. There is no doorman, package room, pool, roof-deck, gym or any other convenience that one can usually find standard in a similar type of rental community in the Hermosa/Redondo Beach area. Azure's management company, Pan American, is a master of the "bait and switch" sales tactic in which they'll lure you in with rental concessions and then increase your rental rates as soon as your initial lease expires. Their rates are inflated for the market, which is why there are units sitting vacant with little interest from prospective tenants. The rent for my unit increased 12% year-over-year when you factor in the initial rent concession to bait us to move in and the property management company tried to claim that increased rental rates for the renewal are aligned with the local market. If that were true, there wouldn't be vacant units in the building with such high turnover. I offered to keep my rent flat in order to renew my lease, which is still 9% higher than my effective rent during the initial lease and they rejected the proposal. They would rather lose money offering a rental concession to new tenants than keep an existing tenant at full-price. Pan American's corporate greed and senseless business practices are unethical and tacky. Do yourself a favor and pass on this property!

This building changed owners about a year ago and is now professionally managed by Pan American…read moreProperties, Inc. of Tustin, CA. The building does not have an on-site manager, but the manager has been quite responsive when I have reported problems. Without an on-site manager, package delivery services are somewhat questionable. Some packages do get delivered inside the security gate somehow, but some get left outside the gate by the mailboxes. I have chosen to have my packages delivered to The UPS Store less than a mile away. That has proven to be convenient enough for me. The new owners have done significant work on the property since they acquired it. The building has new exterior paint and landscaping. They are in the process of refurbishing the units with new cabinets, appliances, hardwood floors, and vertical blinds. There are sixteen units in the building, eight of which have two bedrooms, and the other eight have one bedroom. The building has a laundromat in the basement. Refurbished units are getting a stacked washer/dryer unit as well. All units come with a garage. Residents of two-bedroom units get their own two-car garage with over-hood storage cabinets. Those in one-bedroom units share a garage. The parking area has a security gate, and the garage doors can be locked as well, if desired. Additional storage space may be available for rent. The building is pet-friendly. First floor units are accessible to disabled people, but the wheelchair-bound may need to install a threshold ramp. There are no outdoor spaces for recreation, nor does the building have any other shared recreational facilities. Natural gas, water, and trash service are included in the rent. Time Warner Cable provides TV, phone, and broadband. Verizon services the area, and their phone and DSL services are available in the building. Only the slowest DSL service is available here. Verizon's FiOS is available in the street, but for some unknown reason, the ownership has chosen to not have it installed in the building. I find this puzzling given the effort they are putting into updating the property. My understanding is that Verizon will install it in the building for free, if allowed. My unit is quite comfortable. The living room in the two-bedroom units is quite large. The unit is heated by a single double-sided gas wall unit between the living room and the hall to the bedrooms. This means that the bedroom doors must be left open in the winter to allow heated air to flow into them. The neighbors in the building are all very nice. Unfortunately, more than half of them have moved out or are preparing to since I moved in. Apparently, after the building changed hands, the rent for the current residents was increased substantially to the extent that several of them have been forced to move out. The situation with the rents for the current residents who were here before the building changed hands is so extreme that it has me wondering how fairly rents will be handled from year to year. The building is less than half a mile from South Bay Galleria. That puts most shopping and several dining options within walking distance. Bus service is also convenient. Stops are located at the corner of Artesia and Inglewood a short block away, and the nearby mall is serviced by several lines; so public transportation is quite easy from this location.
