When I scheduled my appointment I explained that there were multiple issues that needed to be addressed. After waiting 3 weeks to get in for an appointment, I find out at the last minute that Beaches Dermatology only scheduled 15 minutes of time, which is completely insufficient to address the issues I outlined during the appointment setting process. I was told it would be necessary to make subsequent appointment(s) in order to have my issues addressed. I can only imagine how long it will take to ultimately get my issues resolved. I therefore cancelled the appointment and re-scheduled with another dermatology group who agreed to address all issues during one appointment. Very poor patient service, including lengthy phone hold times. read more

As opposed to some reviews, my experience was excellent. I made my appointment knowing that I would need a "tumor" removed. After a brief wait I was taken back, a consult with the nurse, as always happens, and the MD arrived. He confirmed that this thing needed to come off. He answered all of my questions and examined a few other spots I was concerned with. After the nurse prepped me, the procedure went down and I was good to go. I found the staff to be polite and courteous. The "text" appointment system worked well. My experience couldn't have been any better. I am awaiting pathology and if my opinion changes, I will adjust my review. read more

I felt like my former Dermatologist might not be as thorough as I need as a person who has a family history of melanoma. I made an appointment with Dr. Metz. In response to Courtney B. Once again, you failed to understand basic medicine. A skin scrape of my skin was done and came back false negative. Again, its because I was using a OTC cream for the skin condition which will render a false negative because its dead when you view under a microscope. Not to mention, a real skin scrap should take 15 minutes, and they did the speed version of 5 minutes. Its so basic, yet they are so incompetent. During the exam, you asked no questions about my medical health and disregarded and ignored my complaints. The first PA even said with medication my spots won't go away. Again, they believe that anyone that goes in with a skin condition is there for vanity and to look good, dismissing the fact we are there with medical symptoms. To say it is nothing more than sun damage is a joke since I do NOT go out in the sun. They truly believe that just living in Florida is considered being in the sun even though we are not in direct sun light for any length of time. They never even asked how much time if any I spend in the sun. I stopped going to the beach in 2016 because of increasing medical symptoms caused by the fungi but did not know why. So for the "sun damage" to spread for 8 years when I not once went in the sun for recreation, is a joke. They just diagnose everyone with white spots as sun damage and you are vain, stop wasting my time and here's your skin cream. They have no medical idea that an infestation of a fungal infection over years, can have medical consequences that need a competent medical practice to take seriously and diagnose. Since I have been treating with other doctors, and the home remedy salt treatments recommended by them, my fungal infection is clearing up, my medical symptoms are almost gone, and I have lost about 5 pounds in fungi weight. I went to a Salt Cave to kill the fungi in my lungs, ears, nose and throat. I never knew I could breath that well and I had nose surgery last December because the fungi infection destroyed my nose. I no longer have clicking in my ears and the post nasal drip is gone as well, all symptoms of a fungal infection on my skin that made its way into my respiratory system. The skin is the FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE for your immune system. So if your skin is infested with a fungal infection, then your immune system is compromised making it harder for you to fight off the fungal infection on your skin and respiratory system, not to mention other viruses and bacteria your skin comes into contact. Because of the progress of getting rid of the fungal infection on my skin it has helped my immune system get stronger in order to fight off the fungal infection in my respiratory system. Once the fungal infection clears my skin and respiratory system, my immune system will finally be at 100% for the first time in over 10 years. I know that may be too much for you to understand from a medical perspective, that all fungal infections are nothing more than sun spots, and advise stay out of the sun and wear long sleeves, but it can happen in rare but not uncommon situations. If I had followed their medical advice, I will still be having medical symptoms of passing gas, burping, ear aches, eye seizures, itchy skin, trouble breathing and the continued infestation of the fungal infection. So they failed to understand the important of a skin fungal infection and how it greatly affects one of the two parts of your immune system. Finally, THANK YOU for confirming my medical visit was not charted until the lab results arrived. So in essence you admitted your office policy for charting is not to do it until test results come back. That is still not professional. The correct way to chart is do it within 24 hours, then when the lab results come in, you update the chart. You DO NOT DO THIS. Electronic medical records should have a date and time the chart was created, and any updates as well. However, this medical practice has none of that information on their medical records. Probably because they do not want their patients and other doctors to see how incompetent they are with medical charting. read more

I first became acquainted with office 15 years ago because my primary care provider suggested them for a spot I had on my back. I saw Dr Metz and he knew right away that the area needed to be biopsied. The process was quick and thanks to the numbing shots, fairly pain-free. Turns out it was precancerous melanoma! I now see Angie, who specializes in procedures like face peels, Botox, laser hair removal and Juvaderm injections. She is so sweet and really knows her stuff. Years ago I was a patient of Dr. Boudreaux for some skin issues every teenage girl usually experiences. This time I was here to see Angie and get some laser hair removal. Basically I'm just tired of shaving and want to make my life a little easier. Angie is an absolute sweetheart. While the treatments weren't the most comfortable thing I've ever done, with their new laser machine they actually weren't that bad at all. Multiple sessions may not be necessary and numbing cream was not needed. It's been several weeks and I can definitely notice a difference. The girls in the office are always pleasant and easy to get in touch with whenever you have a question. read more

Nurse Jamie is a real B. I likely won't be going back. Dawn at the front desk is awesome though. Jamie asked me why I was there and I tried to tell her but she interrupted me because she wanted to do it HER way. She snapped that I was here for "x" (so why did you ask me in the first place?). I had a few issues to discuss but decided that I'll just go somewhere else. Same thing happened with a different nurse a few years ago - she's gone. My father has been going here for years. He showed up for his appointment and was told he cancelled it via text. He did no such thing, and reviewing his texts confirmed it. I confirmed the appointment for him when the automated call came to our landline a few days before. No apologies were offered and he was told he could be rescheduled for more than a week later. If you choose to allow them to be your Health care provider, do not, absolutely do not schedule with a physicians assistant. The 5+ years I was a patient there, I never saw an MD. I would not recommend this office to anyone the scheduler of the appointment was rude on the phone and did not notify us that the patient was not able to have a family member with them or in the building so my time is wasted waiting in the car and the office staff that was at the desk was rude about it as well The patient and myself both had masks on and had no problem with that policy whatsoever read more

I went to Beaches Dermatology in August for scarring, sun spots, and discoloration that has plagued me for quite some time. I scheduled an appointment to see Dr Boudreaux. From beginning to end my experience got worse and worse. Upon my arrival, the parking is simply atrocious! I showed up to my appointment 20 minutes early, and ended spending almost 30 minutes (10 minutes into my scheduled appointment) looking for parking - I ended up parking across the street in the bank parking lot. Once I checked in for my appointment, a nurse walked me to the exam room and took a lengthy history. All the while I gave her my history (yes, I protect me skin with sun shirts and hats and sun screen; no, I don't scratch my skin; I am very fair skinned and it is highly sensitive) and all the while she recorded it on her iPad looking me up in down in a judgmental manner. Dr Boudreaux walked in, sat down on a stool, and said "so why are you here today?" I held out my arms and showed him my scarring, and pointed to the discoloration on my face. His response was "well, what do you want ME to do about it?" He told me it was melasma, there is no fix for it, and that he can prescribe me a medication that probably won't do much. Dr Boudreaux wasn't even in the exam room for 5 minutes. Walking out of the exam room, I have never felt so betrayed and helpless. I walked up to the receptionist/cashier to pay my bill, pulled out my wallet, and said "what do I owe for today?" The receptionist just stared at me like I offended her and replied "you don't owe us anything, your visit was covered by your insurance." Slightly relieved, I walked out. The moment I stepped foot out of the office, I broke down into tears. As a woman in her 20s who has made every effort to protect and be good to my skin, and who has been self conscious of it for a long time, I went to Dr Boudreaux for HELP. I don't have thin skin by any means - I can take criticism and I'm not an emotional person. Dr Boudreaux left me feeling like an ugly monster. I will NEVER go back to that office, nor would I refer Beaches Dermatology to ANYONE. And, to add insult to injury, 2 months later I get a BILL in the mail for my visit. I called the office and told them that their receptionist told me my visit was covered by my insurance and that I don't owe them anything. If you want a good dermatologist, with caring doctors and staff, go to First Coast Dermatology down the road. I have been under treatment for almost a month and my skin (and confidence) have improved tremendously within the first 2 weeks. read more

The treatment I received at this office was amazing Dr.Boudreaux tended to my every need with respect and professionalism I had multiple skin spots treated and warts throughout my body. I was greeted with a smile every time I had an appointment. When I was told I would probably have acne for the rest of my life I appreciated the doctors honesty and help in finding solutions to combat the problem. My daughter just left the 210 office in tears. And this was for the second time. The first time they scared her to death by telling her she had cancer around her eye with no testing of anything. Just an opinion. This time they called her dumb for not remembering the last time she was in and made her feel stupid. They spoke to her in a condescending manner not taking anything she said as a concern. No young adult wants to hear that they will have Acne the rest of their life. The last time she had an appointment, they suggested they could remove some moles that might be sketchy. When she asked about it this time, they said they couldn't just remove random moles. It appears this team could use some training on how to treat people with dignity and respect. While my daughter is young at 21 years of age, she still deserves to be treated properly. I'm really disappointed with this service. We definitely won't be going back. read more

Had an appointment with Fernandina location; referral from our primary doctor. Previously was a patient of a dermatologist in Jacksonville. I requested a full exam since it had been several years. The doctor only looked at my head and immediately started spraying liquid nitrogen on some dry skin areas at my scalp. No dialogue about how much this would cost or long term benefits. Tried to sign me up for a more expensive procedure at a later date. It has been my experience that good dermatologists search ALL of your skin every year for any changes. Especially the areas we cannot see. Not the case here. One quick procedure that was over $800. My insurance refused to pay for all of this. Said it was "cosmetic". No full exam, just wanted to get me to pay for another more expensive service. I went back to our dermatologist in Jacksonville and they confirmed this. Areas treated were "dry" not in need of the liquid nitrogen. Strictly a money grab. read more

Sold me pigment control creams that did not work after months of using as directed. I was told that it would take a few weeks to work and to taper off treatment before 5 months. I went in today to show that it didn't do anything to my skin at all and was told I only have 2 weeks to return the product. If it takes at least 3 weeks for results then the 2 week policy doesn't make any sense. I was willing to do some sort of credit toward future visits if a return was not policy. Now she states it takes 5 months to see results when she warned me to taper off prior to 5 months and to absolutely not use it after 5 months. I am completely let down and will be searching for a new skin care PA. read more

Worst experience of my life. Horrible procedure. Charged me 4 times what was quoted. Had skin tags frozen off and actually taken off. Never worked they are still there. I had to pay for a procedure that did not work. Afterwards they said it takes 3 or 4 times to get these removed and you have to pay each time. They do not guarantee their work. Over charged for nothing. Told several people of my experience, they have had a similar one. read more

Oh my gosh, the worst place to go to if you need cosmetic work done. Sadly, they are not nice people. They force you to pay a 100 dollar deposit per appnt. And when the appnt does not work right, a follow up is an added 100... It's very scary that they get away with such bad protocol that is questionable legally. I rarely complain about establishments. they missed a huge skin cancer spot on my dad and now it's STAGE 4. He cut other things out and missed the HUGE spot.

I went to them a year ago for a lump on my scalp. I was treated like a product in a factory line. Intake person, triage person, then doctor. When the triage nurse/person, said if the doctor says it's cosmetic then insurance won't cover it, I got concerned. The doctor said she thought it was benign which means removal would be considered cosmetic charges and insurance does not cover it. Everyone's attitude was very cold and uncaring. I went the checkout counter -- yes an actual CHECKOUT COUNTER (way to make this feel more like a chop shop) -- I was given an preliminary estimate of over a grand for the surgical, but they could not estimate the labs because that would be sent out and again insurance would not cover it. I told them I would have to call back to set the appointment. I have seen another doctor, got the lump removed, and insurance covered EVERYTHING because it was MEDICAL codes used. I think they just want to get instant money out of the patient instead of billing insurance and waiting for payment. NEVER EVER GO THERE!!! read more
