Oh My Heart Be Still ... For everyone that reads my reviews you know the way to my heart is to tell me I'm pretty and buy me ice cream!! I had the privilege of stopping in at this adorable little homemade ice cream shop today and I'm in love. This place is everything a ice cream shop should be it's brightly colored and has the cutest decor and seating inside as well as several seating areas outside. There are several ways to place your order 1.) Walk up to the window on the porch clearly labeled order here 2.) Go inside and place your order 3.) Call in your order and go pick it up ( Beaches I'll give you call tonight wink) . Now the selection is amazing 16 flavors they also offer several sugar free options. And you can sample if you are unsure of what you would like . The ice cream here is reasonably priced and and you get a lot for your money .

You can get it in a cup or cone of your choice ( cake cone or waffle cone ). I had a scoop of the White chocolate and coconut I couldn't help but think this recipe was created just for me as these are two of my very favorite things...

Most recently I had their Coconut Caramel Pecan, and it was heaven. Keep in mind that BNC is POPULAR. At night, you can expect a line and a small wait, but it goes pretty quick. You may have to eat outside, but we never have issues...

Single scoop coconut ice cream and a pup cup

I mean the friendliest folks behind the counter I ended up going with the Coconut after many hard minutes with so many darn yummy choices ! So so so good my Dogg had a vanilla pup cup with peanut butter ( I get the best Momma award from him if the line is long it is worth it !! So enjoy I will be back to try the many flavors they have to choose from !

This is it. In my humble opinion, there are two go-to dessert spots at Holden Beach. This is one of them. We came in yesterday and their chocolate ice cream was as the youngins say "goated with the sauce." I tried a couple of otter flavors and they are also good. This may be the best ice cream around. There is seating outside and inside. Parking is plentiful which is good because lines can get comically long during busy season. Do yourself a favor and come try this ice cream.

We have come here over the years and I agree this is a great place to visit. I especially like the banana pudding ice cream. You can enjoy it inside or outside and watch the beach traffic go by to Holden.

I am an ice cream snob and this place deserves 10 stars!! Service moved quickly on a hot summer night, employees were friendly. Cute shop with tables to sit, large parking lot! Nice little ice cream shop just across the bridge from Holden Beach. We visited twice, and while the line was out the door both times, it moved quickly and we never had trouble finding seating after we were served. All the workers were kind, courteous, and efficient! The ice cream itself, which is homemade, ranged from okay at the low end to excellent at the high end. They have a wide variety of flavors, ranging from the standard fruits to "monkey poop" and "sweet and salty spud". On the "okay" end of the spectrum, I felt that the Nutter Butter ice cream tasted more like vanilla ice cream with a few Nutter Butters mixed in. On the "excellent" end, the Butterfinger ice cream managed to have a base of the Butterfinger flavor along with the crunch of Butterfinger chunks. We didn't have any bad ice cream here! But some was better than others. Overall, a solid choice for ice cream after a long day on the beach!

We go here almost every night on vacation. The flavors rotate and no matter how long the line may look you are never waiting very long. The workers are nice and quick and the ice cream is so soft and never disappoints. They post their menu on Facebook daily and because they do receive a good amount of track they have a live view of their menu so when they run out of a flavor you can see what is replacing it. They have cones, bowls, sundaes and milkshakes and for a reasonable price.

Beaches N cream is a local handmade ice cream shop in Holden Beach. They offered various ice cream flavors and one of my favorite is drilled ice cream. Drilled ice cream reminds me of blizzard but tasted way better. Be ready to wait in line as this ice cream place is quite busy.

This business is outstanding all around. The quality of ice cream, quaint decor, and amazing staff keep us coming back. Even in these different times of pandemic they are carrying on and working to accommodate. We witnessed a family get upset with the staff over one scoop in the group being larger than the others. They expressed their concern with staff and the scoops were weighed. The one scoop was way too large and the person behind the counter fixed it. They even asked to see the owners and began the conversation with "we are never coming back". It is sad to see people act this way when small businesses have gone through so much this year. Something so minor turned into something crazy.. Good job Beaches-n-Cream today and each day. Keep your heads up! We support you and wish you much success! read more

Great! Cute ice cream place and appreciated their strict Covid operating procedures. The cookies and cream, and butter pecan flavors were delicious. We always come here for ice cream while on vacation. They have different flavors everyday. You have to get there early for some flavors. It's fresh made on site. If it's strawberry ice cream it has real strawberries. Maybe you will be the fortunate one to be there when the Krispie Kreme ice cream comes out. We look forward to our visit next year already and we just left yesterday. I don't know of a better ice cream place anywhere. read more

Absolutely some of the best ice cream that I have ever had and I have had a lot. This place ranks up there with Handels Ice Cream!! Can't say enough good things about Beaches and Cream. Hint. Order a pint or two early and have them hold it for you. They make flavors daily and they ran out of several flavors by afternoon. Like carrot cake. read more

If you want ice cream, go here. Sure, there are about a dozen ice cream places nearby. But none of them compare to this place. They have the most amazing ice cream. I rarely ever eat ice cream, it's something I can live without eating. When the kids decided they wanted ice cream on a hot summer day, we decided to give Beaches and Cream a try. I fully intended to take the kids and not get anything for myself. However, when I saw all the different (not your everyday) flavors I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! It was delicious!!! I had carrot cake, my husband and daughter had butter pecan, and my son had the coffee flavor. All the ice cream is homemade and delicious. Ice cream here is really good and I definitely recommend trying it out but it was the worst customer service that I have ever received. The girl was extremely rude and in a rush for us to order even though the place was empty. It was our first time in so not a great first impression. She turned over the iPad and told us to sign and then walked out the back door. Update: We went back here twice more while staying at Holden Beach and had good customer service both of those times. read more

Established in 2012.

Beaches-n-Cream makes their product in small batches, ensuring every scoop is the freshest! We opened our doors in 2012 and have developed all flavors trial and error. We come up with an idea and create a recipe. We then make a batch and make it available for customers. If it is a hit we add it to our list of flavors and make it again!

Meet the Business Owner: Amanda and Steven P.

Steven and Amanda began Beaches-n-Cream based on Steven's love for sweets and Amanda's love for cooking. They have a 2 year old named Riley, who also loves to create and eat the ice cream! Amanda has developed recipes for nearly 300 flavors and has a continual list of new flavors to test!

This farm-to-table restaurant supporting local farmers and fishermen is worth a try if in the area with a little something for everyone on their menu. The Deets: A friend of mine drove down from Wilmington while I was vacationing in Holden Beach recently and we decided to get dinner to catch up. Looking at options on the trusty Yelp app, we decided upon trying The Cove Restaurant for dining. It is located just a bit out from Holden Beach, along Hwy 130 going towards Shallotte. It has pretty good parking that was almost full when we arrived. When we went in to place our name on the waiting list, we were told it would be about 30 minutes wait (we were actually seated around 15-20 minutes) and so we used the table and chairs outside the door to relax and talk. When seated at a booth inside, we perused their menu and they have plenty of different selections (not just limited to seafood). The cover of the menu describes The Cove as a restaurant "...featuring all natural ingredients supporting local farmers and fishermen." This farm-to-table format is good to know going in and I'm glad they share that on the menu. We were given bread service to start with (loved the bread!) and my friend got their Homemade Crab Soup to start with, and he liked it a lot. I went for Fish & Chips for my dinner entree while my friend opted for their Chicken Marsala for his meal. I was satisfied with my meal, the beer battered deep fried cod fish tasted great here. I sampled my friend's Chicken Marsala and it was good but was hoping for more flavor to come through on the Marsala sauce. Service was acceptable from the host desk to our server, all went well. My husband ordered the special Trio: grouper (blackened) with shrimp (fried) and scallops (blackened). It was served with mashed potatoes. The portion was huge! He said it was the best mashed potatoes he's ever had. I ordered the seafood linguini, scampi style - it was delicious with a generous amount of mussels, clams, shrimp, and scallops. There was an option to have the dish "fra diavolo" (spicy red sauce) which I may try next time. My husband shared his giant side-salad with me. It was an extra $2 for the salad that could have been a meal for me. Complimentary bread is served with olive oil and freshly cracked pepper and with single serving pats of butter. For dessert, we shared the housemade brownie with ice cream. It was recommended by our wonderful server, Bailey! It was a great first meal for us in Holden Beach as locals and no longer just visitors!

WOW!! This was truly a blessed experience at Beaches-n-Cream. The young lady's were so polite and just so helpful. The Butter Pecan was the best I have ever had. But following up on the previous review I was actually in there when that situation went down. I personally thought the young girls handled the situation correctly and professionally. The customers were awfully rude about the whole thing. They asked for the scoops to be equivalent to each other, so the girls fixed them according to their appropriate weights according to their company policy (as they explained). The wife became furious she wasn't given more even though they were corrected, the husband had to argue because they weren't given extra basically for free!! Anyway the ladies, Hailey, Faith and Alyssa were excellent and very professional. Delicious ice cream and they will DEFINITELY be getting my business again. read more

My family and I vacation at Holden Beach every summer. We discovered this terrific little shop last year and fell in love with it! This is by far the best ice cream I have ever eaten in my life. It is simply delicious! Their flavors are spectacular and unique. Last year I tried red velvet cake, birthday cake, and orange creamsicle. We will be staying at Holden in July and it cannot come soon enough because all my family members are so ready to try more flavors of their amazing ice cream. The ice cream is fantastic and they are handling the virus perfectly. All employees are wearing gloves and masks, they are actively limiting the number of people in the store, and are ensuring everyone who enters is wearing a mask. Not only that, I have a severe peanut allergy and in order to ensure my safety they opened a whole new tub of untouched ice cream for me. I could not recommend them enough! read more

Easily the best Ice cream that I have ever had. I went back three times in the week that my family stayed in Holden. Banana Pudding was great, but the best flavor I had was Boston Creme Pie. There are flavors that are there everyday, and others that change daily, but you are always guaranteed to get great ice cream for a good price read more

Beaches N Cream is a family favorite from the grandparents down to the youngest grandkids! We visit multiple times during each trip to the beach. I especially love the mini size cups- a perfect size, quilt free, scoop of ice cream! Death by chocolate is my favorite! read more
