I can see why people jump on Metro North and get off and Beacon to run the streets and attend this farmers market. It's just the right size to not feel overwhelmed but all of the products are Hudson Valley born in bred. I made several stops along the way There are plenty of places to park, but you will have to walk a few blocks in either direction. The walk will be interesting as main street has lots of unique shops, boutiques, and restaurants to choose from By the time you get to the Beacon farmers market, you'll be in the mood for a delicious by to eat. And bring the dog because there are plenty of people hitting the streets and begin with their furry family and Tow. You'll find unique booths with local Rice growers who hand plant rice and weed through using old-school methods. No pesticides because they use ducks in the patties to maintain water pests. Another great stop would be the mushroom vendor toward the end. Please see my video attached. Food from every corner of the world is represented here under about 75 tents. We had a beautiful day but even on a cloudy day or light rain I think you can have a great time here. Don't forget to shop on Main Street on your way back to the car. I stopped at a Thai tea shop for a shaved ice that was phenomenal. And Alps chocolate has their factory on Main Street as well. They're a regional Chocolatier, but I know there's even a step up chocolate tear further down on Main Street. While you're at the farmers market, do not forget to pick up treats for yourself and treats for your dog. Next time I'm bringing more cash because there were so many tents that called to me that I couldn't budget in this time around. read more

I finally got to check out the Beacon's Farmers market that everyone raves so much about with so many epic businesses like Laurel & Ash, Laughing Gut Kombucha, 4 Wall Farm and more! It's summer, it's hot, so of course expect the heat to sizzle up but if you pop in a bit on the earlier side you'll be sure to have a breezy experience. The day we went they even had a cooler with free ice to chill off! I loved the layout of this market and the amount of different vendors there and variety. From cute tote bags to dog treats and fresh produce. Beacon's Farmers market has you covered with so many local businesses ready to welcome you. It's the perfect chance to do a little stroll if you're in Beacon but also a great chance to discover and shop local. We left with a delicious bottle of maple syrup, some kombucha and a pickle on the go from Tony's Pickles. read more

Great little Sunday stroll. Not a big farmers market but they have a little of everything. From pastries, pickles, Jamaican food, hot sauce, and fresh produce from local farm , this lil market pairs well with other shops in the neighborhood. Vendors are always super nice and if you have the right weather you wouldn't mind taking your time experiencing all it has to offer. Today we took advantage of sharper Harper knife sharpening business, which took 2 hrs but worth the wait, so plan accordingly. read more

We need to fix the overall rating for this farmers market. As one of the only farmers markets in the area open year round, the offerings are plenty and it's certainly a fun activity even if you don't buy anything. There is much to see. The vendors have grown over the last five years that I've been visiting. Yes, it is expensive but most farmers markets are. Things I never skip: a Jamaican beef patty, pickles/olives, at least one baked good (the pretzels at All You Knead are worth the trip alone). I go there specifically for maple syrup and honey. Parking can vary on the time you arrive and time of year. If you can't grab a spot on Main Street, you can easily find parking on a side street nearby. read more

This farmer market is on Main Street in Beacon on Sundays. You can find free parking on the street. The parking is mostly free on Sundays. Just make sure you're not blocking any driveways or hydrants. There are a lot of vendors from the Hudson Valley. There was a dj there and people dancing. You're in the downtown so you can walk around and check out the area after. read more

This was a flea market. Not a vegetable or farmer to be found. Nothing. Nada. Cranky old men at the tables too.

My husband and I were in town visiting family and really loved the Beacon Farmer's market. There was a great mixture of things for sale-- from local farm raised meats, Cheeses, Pickles, vegetables, and we bought Empanadas from a food vendor, and they were delicious. It's nice that it's held in a parking lot so there's no cars driving through, and was all around a great time! read more

Out of about 15 vendors, 2 were friendly ; unfortunately i don't eat bread ; the 10 dollar for a dozen eggs ; pure extortion no egg is worth that amount but purchased honey from the 5.00 from he same egg extortionist ;;; never used the honey ; now its a solid; will throw out . although i love mediterranean food, aint spending one red cent on an unfriendly salesperson. read more

How many farmer's markets do you know that have a blazing fireplace to keep you warm while you peruse through the local offerings? THIS ONE! The train to the city was late one day so a couple of us decided on the frigid but sunny day, to walk on the Beacon Ferry Dock and stare at some seagulls. That's when we saw a tiny little building next to the dock with smoke coming out of its chimney. Seeing people come and go, we walked closer and saw the sign for the Farmer's Market. Sweet sweet warmth. The fireplace was burning bright as we walked in past the homegrown veggies and wine. We walked, obviously, straight towards the cavity-causing stuff and bought some delicious macaroons and some yummy cookies for the train-ride. Local teas and the most amazing looking breads were also available. We would've stuck around to see/buy more but heard the train coming through and had to run back to the platform to make it on time. Definitely coming back again - if only for the fireplace and some fresh bread! read more

Nice small farmers market with an amazing view of the Hudson. I got peachberry wine, apple cider donuts and honey. Not a huge place but they had some fresh quality products. Live music!! Located right at the Beacon Metro-North train station and free parking. The only con was port-a-potty located pretty far at the park. read more

I know, I know. I'm a farmers market whore, and I only gave this one a three star.... I love that this happened to be going on as we were both waiting for the train to the city. It was a conveniently pleasant surprise. We tasted wines from Adair Vineyards in New Paltz (and bought as well). We tasted apple cider and Winesap apples (and bought cider doughnuts and enough apples for my killer pie from CIA) from a vendor whose name I should've written. (they were awesome, so I hope they read this) The only drawback was the extremely limited selection, both in vendors and vendor selection. And yes, I know it's only early April. But it made me so absolutely nuts for a full-bore farmers market that I was left feeling crazy bummed. I promise, once I'm back in the summer, that I'll revisit. And I'm sure I'll be just as pleasantly surprised. read more

This farmer's market is decent. For this area, with not much to do-the farmers market is a fun and laid back thing to do on a Sunday. I've been here twice now and both times, I really just enjoyed walking around tasting things and buying cheap produce. There isn't that much of a selection in comparison to the Union Square Farmer's Market--but you can pretty much get everything from veggies, fruit, bread, honey, peanut butter here. The view is spectacular because its on a waterfront--so there is a nice pier and nice green to sit on to enjoy the ambiance and sometimes there is live music. I also like how I can bring my puppy along here! :) There were a bunch of other people who brought along dogs too. I stopped by Fishkill Farms and I bought 3 medium sized tomatoes for $3.00--crazy and then a challah bread and 1 croissant for $8.00. read more

Updated. I don't know what happened but the farmers market is lame again. Seems many vendors dropped out. No meat? No fish? The guy from Edgewick Farm was super rude to my husband and I. I hope beacon can get this market back on track. It's now June and what a difference. They have 3-4 organic farm stands now, Tas coffee, and the Scandinavian food stall is there every other week. Great improvements. Still wish they had meat, fish or dairy, but this is much improved. read more

Went upstate for my bday and this was one of the places we decided to go to before heading back to the city. This place was definitely NOT worth it. I like the fact that it's next to the water which was serene and nice but the farmers market was the smallest one I have ever been to. You can walk it in less than 5 minutes. There were maybe about 10 vendors. Luckily I bought something - beets and corn but everyone else I was with did not buy a single thing. read more

Nana's makes a delicious falafel sandwich. The market is understandably small. Not a ton of produce either. The pickle guy was really quiet and reserved and had a lot of varieties of pickles, olives, hummus, etc. We checked out and he let us choose a hummus on the arm. What's really nice is that we could get the sandwich and stand on the dock or sit on the bank of the Hudson and enjoy the surroundings. read more

This farmers market is as down to earth and friendly as you can get. In the summer, the market is held on Beacon's new ferry dock and the view is spectacular. Weather you are looking to stock up on just picked veggies, local honey, maple syrup, fresh eggs (THE best and freshest eggs I have ever had and at 5.00 a dozen, quite a bargain), a wide variety of baked goods or orchard fruit, this is the market to visit. Every vendor is as friendly as can be while conducting business and there are some great nature trails just minutes from the market. There are also two rotating beer vendors as well as a local winery and some great Greek food in case you feel like a nosh up. Also a great place to meet locals, two and four legged alike! Free parking in the train station parking lot. No parking rules on Sunday! read more

I am a fellow Beacon-ite who have visited the farmers market plenty of times. There are a sufficient amount of goods to see but in a way, it is limited. Each week, you will have the typical produce stands, bakery stand, independent jewelry booths and various food vendors inside and outside the tiny building. My boyfriend and I have tried contacting the people who runs this to see if and how I can have my own stand that includes a jewelry stand and bakery goods stand but no one has ever returned the call. Since we have been there, we know that there is space available for the booths. It's just a matter of contacting us back especially as Spring approaches. We are enthusiastic bakers and would like a change to be vendors here. read more
