I've been to several Adams stores, this one is a lower key and read easier to shop in. I shopped here several times. The produce is absolutely gorgeous, the breads are nice, there is a nice selection of all of what you might want for baked goods, spices, sauces, etc. I found the kombucha that I was looking for. There is a coffee bar where you can order a cup of coffee and or buy coffee by the pound. The staff are great, extremely helpful. On 2 occasions they brought me to where I was able to find what I was looking for. I love a grocery store that celebrates food. And excellent food at that. When I'm in the area I always have to visit Adams Grocery. This grocery has so much to offer. Once you enter the automatic door you're in the zone. Produce right in front of you, cheese to the left, florals and popcorn to the right. You just hit the ground running. Everything is well stocked and well organized. Sections like, plants, popcorn, pizza, hot foods, cheeses, produce, a gift store, a holiday section, candy, fudge, gardening, fish, sandwiches, bakery, meat and so much more... so much! The set up in this store is so strange and makes it hard to shop. Pizza dough, all types of bread spread all over the store. The cheese is in two separate random places. It's like 3 different stores in one place. I don't know what they are going for here, but it's confusing as heck. They ruined gift shop and ladies are the rude rude rude. Follow up review to my pre-Thanksgiving dinner purchases. The Lithuanian bread was outstanding. The house-made Barata, that I paid a premium price for was very disappointing and missed the mark completely. The mozzarella "shell" was rubbery and the anticipated creamy goodness that should have oozed out of the center was nothing more than an injection of ricotta. I've got to give that a fail, pass and opt instead for some of the more premium imported cheeses for your charcuterie board this holiday season Asparagus: another disappointment, unfortunately. Wappinger Falls location has the worst bakery.Cakes and pastries are stale and for the price you pay they shouldn't be.I will never purchase items from the bakery again.That manager needs training or to be let go. I've been going to Adams for years and I have always been pleased. They are always crowded but they have plenty of cashiers and the help is nice. They have a lot of plants and I like the hot food display/ salad bar. The bakery is sinful . The food is bit expensive but it's a once in awhile treat. I was pleased to go out in the parking lot and seeing someone help with lifting soil. That is helpful for this 60+ gal. I will continue to shop there. read more

Very clean store ; staff is top notch amd friendly. I came in hungry in the morning as I dropped my car for service across the street. They had plenty of delicious looking hot food @ $9.99/lb. I got a BEC for $5.00. Not a bad price for being in Adams, and it was delicious. Also grabbed a bottle of water for 59 cents - everywhere else gets well over a dollar for them. Two lines open with a lot of people waiting - staff saw this and immediaty got another line open. I love it here at Adams! PS - its 90 amd humid out and they got the AC rockin! read more

I wish i could think positively or optimistic about this but it just leaves me confused on how this is safe and why this is protocol.. I bought rice pudding as I was looking for something small, sweet and already prepared., I came back to my house and noticed that's a heavy amount of ingredients for rice pudding, 17 ingredients in Adams and 3 in my household when we make it fresh. I want to make an honorable mention to the titanium dioxide, cellulose gum, sodium stearoyl and sodium phosphate.. these ingredients are not necessary to put in your foods, do your research on these ingredients and ask yourself why would a grocery store that promotes itself 'healthier' when you might as well get it from a gas station for have the cost to get these additives. These additives they put in are to purely enhance the look and texture of it. No good comes from putting additional foreign ingredients in your body that we can't even pronounce. Additional side note, I made this same exact review on their google page and something told me to screenshot it incase they delete it, which I do for most of my reviews bc if a corporations have nothing to hide why delete a comment when it could be rectified? Someone hasn't reached out to me about my concerns and I guess Adam's standards are to delete comments that don't make them look good, healthy or authentic. watch out wegmans. well, not sure if were going to cross over to that beacon of groceries, but i will say, first time crossing the doorway of AFF, and i am impressed! shame on me for not even understanding the magnitude of this place until it was my last day of travel, however, this place isnt going anywhere, so i will be sure to visit back. ok, so i didnt really see a lot of the store, time crunch, but i did see the candy section and if this was any index for the rest of the store, look out! service was all smiles too! what a great store to shop at, or at the least, to get my sugar on. check out time! read more

Last week I bought 40 dollars of mostly produce. Pineapple was brown inside. Mandarin oranges texture was mushy. Cucumber went mushy to the point of being inedible the next day. Alright, after figuring out what supermarket & grocery store in the area will fulfill my needs for any given purpose, I realize that I rated Adams Fairacre pretty unfairly. Their nursery and plants are outstanding, so I'll never have to go far to find a nursery (or worse, rely on Lowes or Home Depot for their typically lackluster selection). Their produce is the best you'll find at any local supermarket. After all, they are probably growing it on their farms. Nah, it won't be a "good deal" or anything, but quality is far more important when it comes to veggies. I still don't like that they average a buck or more higher than Hannaford and Shop Rite for basics (LaCroix, condiments, etc). I don't like their self righteous "we're a family business, so no, we don't sell beer" BS (uh, many people in families drink beer and it doesn't automatically mean they are lousy parents who are guzzling a six pack while ignoring their kids)- which requires you to go to Hannaford or Shoprite anyway. I still don't like that their vegan, or as most mainstream supermarkets call it "Health foods," section is meager. You'd expect more in a gourmet grocery store. I still don't like that they charge crazy amounts of money for lousy candles in the gift area either, though damn, that area has something for everyone, from the burgeoning bee keeper to the occasional beer crafter, as well as our favorite solar-powered dragonfly lights. But, if you're like most people I know, you're well-versed in the supermarket shuffle anyway, so Adams is worth a browse when you need flowers or a decent head of romaine. I suppose their baked goods, cheese, prepped foods are decent, too, given the crowds in that area. read more

The food I got was good, but the disservice I witnessed to a nice, well mannered customer was disgusting. I was on the salad line minding my business and a very nice man walks up to the counter there and asks if they have a fresh pepper grinding station. The employee tell him that they do not and tells him he can use pepper packets. Then when the man leaves, the employee turns to his fellow coworkers and proceeds to actively make fun of the man for "asking such a stupid and ridiculous question." His coworkers and himself proceed to go on about this for about 5 minutes, very loudly, and in front of other customers. Listen, I get it, I've worked retail and food service for a long time, but you don't do that. Especially to your nice and respectful customers because they are a rare breed. And you especially don't do that and ridicule them in front of OTHER customers. You do that stuff in the privacy of the break room if you really need to. Absolutely unacceptable and it made me extremely uncomfortable. Imagine what your employees are saying behind the backs of their other customers? Gross. I like giving very good reviews, especially funny or helpful ones. Whatever I can do to help. But this was egregious enough for me to come on here and actually do a bad one. Maybe try the Adams in Poughkeepsie instead. You might not be ostracized there. read more

I have been patronizing the assorted Adams location for years. The Wappingers store is my go to for shrimp cocktail in a ring box with sauce in the middle. Nice big shrimp, always fresh, no fishy smell and comes with sauce so it's ready to eat. When I went to get my weekly fix there was none to be had. Only the shrimp dumped into rectangular boxes with no sauce and lots of fluid in the box which makes the shrimp smell fishy. Usually there are 3 or 4 rows of the shrimp rings. When I asked the staffer in the fish department if they had any, he stated "we stopped making those, they are too labor intense". Labor intense! This is Adams! They bake cakes, cut meat in the butcher dept, slice cold cuts, prep hot foods and salads, and even landscape your lawn and fix your lawnmower. Lining up a dozen shrimp in a circle is LABOR INTENSE? Ok, I know a blow off when it hits me and I am blown off. Enough to never go back again. Hey guys, that's why you're in business. To do the things that people don't want to do. Like putting chilled crustaceans in a circle around some sauce. read more

I promise that visiting this Adam's location in the late afternoon will bring you right back to your city days. In all seriousness, this Adam's is great. It has a deli, bakery, cheese shop, fish shop, garden center, etc. Basically everything you come to expect. Their selection of local, natural, and regional products is unparalleled in the region and you cannot beat the freshness of their produce. The employees are always friendly and always willing to help you out. One particular instance I recall was with a woman working the sampling station. She created her own little sandwich recipe to showcase some local ham, bread, and cheese. It wasn't on any menu but I asked for it anyway as a full to-go order and she was more than happy to make me one! That's awesome customer service. But like I said, if you come here anytime between open and close, it's busy. If you come between ~3:00pm-7:00, the place WILL be PACKED. Parking will be very limited. You think Game of Thrones was ruthless? Get ready for Game of Parking. If you don't mind the crowds, then Adam's is perfect. There's a reason all the locals know it and love it. There is even a little eating area with a microwave to sit and enjoy your meals. Adam's is more than a supermarket also, the florist and greenhouse is impressive. Bakery Department: where's the cake? I had purchased 3 18 inch cakes. All 3 cakes had so much layers of icing and a very small thin cake on all 3. Seems that the person who installs the icing shaves too much cake and overloads the icing. One of the cakes was called margarita cake. Looks good but someone should have installed a sign at the showcase that the cake has alcohol. At the end of the day all 3 cakes mostly ended up in the trash can. No one wanted to eat the icing. Waste of decorating icing on the cakes. Cakes should have a nice thin layer and inside a full moist cake. read more

This store has gone from great to horrible. They renovated the store and the gift shop is just terrible now. So much tacky merchandise that clearly no one takes care of the department. The gift shop manager is also very rude. I asked her a question about a certain hand cream, and she was so frazzled she basically barked back at me "it's on the shelf!" Used to be my go-to now I stay away because the staff are mostly high school kids who don't know how to really help customers. And like I said so disappointed in the new gift shop. The in-house fish fry, for years since the opening of this location, has declined in quality so badly that it seems lower than the lowest Sysco quality off the truck Fish is smelly and discolored, squares rather than the filets of the past. Mixed platter (perhaps thankfully) no longer includes fish but is heavily badly breaded shrimp and scallops that smell of iodine and decay. We have now vowed never to order it again. Generally seafood at this Wappingers location has seemd of much lesser quality than at Arlington but never so bad as this. Shame. read more

Adams has been a fixture in Dutchess County for like, pretty much forever. The Garden Center's spring flower show was one of my favorite things as a child for the longest time, and the winter displays back then were just as magical. Not sure if they're still doing all that, but it's still a lovely specialty grocery / farm market mainstay in the area. It's essentially the closest thing we have to a Whole Foods or Nob Hill in Poughkeepsie. Pros: Huge sweets / candy section with homestyle / vintagey sweets. Huge garden / greenhouse section -- wreaths, big trees, mini trees, all your decorating needs. Fresh produce but expensive. More wholesome groceries and snacks that you won't find in your regular supermarkets. One year we got an organic chicken here for roasting over Christmas and it was delicious. Great prepared hot food bar. Samples and free coffee samples. Cons: It's also close to Whole Foods in terms of bougie prices. Parking lot is large but still manages to be cramped. read more

I was only in the area for a couple of days and I will say there were many things I truly enjoyed. The truffle cheese & imported cheddar. The maple syrup section. The best one I took home was the bourbon maple syrup. apparently it is aged in a bourbon barrel. The Manuka honey The cranberries soaked in balsamic vinegar. I love these and I finished the bottle. I really need many more!!!! ALso purchased a delicious balsamic vinegar. It is so thick and has no sugar or additives. I eat it by the spoonfuls. I will add name later. I enjoyed fresh veggies and fruits and a large selection of desserts and foods. (They have fresh turmeric too) FYI. They do not sell wine. read more

BEWARE!! BEWARE!! BEWARE!! BEWARE!! Last week my family made a phone order with Adam's for a bakery delivery. The call was taken by NANCY who took a credit card over the phone. Late that evening we were notified of fraudulent charges made on the card. The purchases, (totaling approximately $1,000) were made for a bicycle and cooking supplies. They were made by a woman named NANCY, and delivery was to her local home address. This is soo unacceptable on so many levels. Adam's should he ashamed that they employ such a crooked person! We loved shopping at Adam's, but this will forever make me stay away until this employee has been terminated. Hopefully Adam's takes care of this before she does the same thing to other customers. This is the premier supermarket in the Hudson Valley. It is the best run, best stocked, and cleanest of it's kind. Staff is super polite and knowledgeable. Nearest competitors in local area are Shop Rite and BJ's, neither of which can possibly be compared, particularly when it comes to deli section, seafood and meats. read more
