On several occasions, I witnessed my granddaughter being subjected to bullying by several girls in her class. I told Tanya about the girls' inappropriate behavior, and I was told that "my granddaughter will make friends." Due to her lackadaisical attitude, I became extremely vocal, pulled my granddaughter from their school and demanded a refund, which they obliged. Additional complaints is that there is no guidance, communication, and the studio is sloppy and unclean. A child is not a commodity, and needs to be treated as such. Both owners are pompous regarding the amount of years that they have been in business. So, what does that mean to you, a prospective client? You will be subjected to ridicule if you make a complaint, regardless of the complaint, just because they have been in business for several decades. And, if your child is bullied, there may be no recourse. It seems that both Tanya and Betty Jean were angrier at me for bringing up this situation than being accountable and responsible for not having a no-bullying policy in place. On a positive note, my granddaughter is now in a clean, well-established, well-structured, fun, and disciplined ballet school, and she is thriving. She is very happy and can enjoy her classes and classmates without any worries.

We dropped by 4 different studios and we knew PDC was for us! My 4-year-old daughter has been with PDC for 2 years and we absolutely love being a part of the PDC family! Classes are nurturing and positive, age-appropriate but certainly teaches the little ones to push themselves and do their best as little ballet and tap dancers! Owner, Paige L., and the toddler teacher, Ashley A., are absolutely amazing with the children! Each brings their excitement, their expertise, and their big hearts to the classes. Even the older dancers, who sometimes cross paths with the 2-4 year old class (or on the recital days) are so sweet and loving! They are like big sisters to the little dancers, taking them under their wing and making them feel like important parts of the PDC family. These girls have become extended family. All the parents look out for each other's daughters and support them with encouragement and love. There are workshops with special guest dancers and they have a winter performance for dancers who'd like to participate. The studio is an adorable boutique studio - small and quaint but perfect. Parents can sit right outside the class and watch. PDC is conveniently located right on Route 6 in Mahopac and parking is available behind the studio.
