Brought the family to see Stomp over the weekend and it was a blast! We were so excited to watch…read morethe show with our kids that we had seen almost 30 years ago, seeing the awe and wonder on their faces was so worth trekking through the snow covered streets. Before I get to the actual show (and what some may view as a spoiler), lets talk location. It's right there on 2nd Ave bet 7th and 8th near St Marks, so lots of dining within walking distance, pretty much any type of cuisine you can want. You can find street parking, depending on the day/time of show, so if you don't feel like paying for a deck, arrive early to search for a spot and make sure you read the signs to avoid a ticket. The venue is small, but seeing as the show has been around for 30 years, you shouldn't have a hard time getting tickets. What's really nice is, when we got there for our matinee show on Sunday, they had extra seats right up front that they upgraded us for free to! Now on to the show (SPOILER ALERT)! If you didn't know already, Stomp is basically a musical where no regular instruments are used, everyday objects you find all over like brooms, garbage bins, lighters, luggage, and newspapers are used to make noises into song. With that said, it is very loud! There is also quite a bit of laughter as some characters on stage are humorous and there is some audience participation as well, so if you like that, listen for your cue to join in. Definitely a show for all ages if you like music. I'd be happy to see it again!

No dogs allowed in the sand area. Overall nice lake to spend your summer in, they do have a strict limit of how many people/cars are allowed. When it gets over crowded in the weekend they will close admission for the day. Definitely best to go during the week to be safe. Otherwise, make sure to get there nice and early to guarantee admission. Open from 9-6
