I worked in the orthodontic industry for a few years, so I had a relationship with a number of orthodontists in the area. I began treatment with a different orthodontist in the winter of 2019. As my treatment progressed, I was starting to feel as though the other orthodontist wasn't getting me the result I wanted, and during the time I formed a trusting relationship with Dr. Lisann. I knew the kind of work Dr. Lisann did, and how she treated her patients, and I decided I must switch to her to get the personalized patient experience I needed. Boy did that decision pay off!! I started with Beacon Orthodontic Associates in September 2020, and thought I would need 12-18 months to correct the issues I had. Here we are today, May 2021, and I am already done! Dr. Lisann is a wizard with the Invisalign treatment planning, as well as the artistic touches to the contours of my teeth, and I am incredibly happy with my new smile! The experience I had coming into the office with Becky, Dr. Lisann, and others, especially during a pandemic, made me feel safe, comfortable, and known. Did not feel welcome here I took my daughter for an initial orthodontic consult on March 31st. The initial woman who came in to take my daughter in (who is 9 and was a little nervous) barked at her to use hand sanitizer and when I asked if I should come in with her, said abruptly to me, "No!"  I was a bit off put by this but thought it must be a one-off thing. I had a question and spoke to the woman at the front desk. Not only did she not listen to me, she kept interrupting me, raising her voice and misunderstanding what I was asking. Her tone was condescending and rude. This did not bode well, especially if we had to come to this office repeatedly for orthodontic appts. We then went into see Dr. Lisann. She at least was professional, though she did not have a warm and friendly manner with us either.  At this point I was pretty upset and wanted to get out of there--I forgot that we had to go back to the desk to pay for the appt and as we were leaving the front desk woman said, "EXCUSE ME, YOU HAVE TO PAY!!" I was totally taken aback. I am someone who is very conscientious about all payments--it was just that I was upset. The kids kept repeating what she said all the way home. I was very upset after that consult.  I have never been treated in such a rude and unprofessional manner as I was at Beacon Orthodontic. Given her stellar reviews for the most part, I had expected to use Dr. Lisann  for not only my daughter, but also my other daughter and myself as well.  Unfortunately she just lost 3 potential  patients. Unless she works with her staff to make a more welcoming atmosphere, I expect we won't be the only ones. read more

All my life, I've been insecure about my teeth. My insecurity mixed with my general anxiety made any dental appointment really difficult for me. I always came in with a deep sense of shame about my teeth, and I'd been to both dentists and orthodontists before who repeatedly told me that my case was too difficult (one orthodontist quoted me at 4 years of braces, no possibility for Invisalign). It almost seemed hopeless, not to mention the financial burden of it all. Then I walked into Dr. Lisann's office. First of all, Dr. Lisann has to be the most cheerful orthodontist I've ever met. She has this infectious, joyful energy about teeth. She's enthusiastic, and she has an incredibly positive attitude. She never once made me feel shamed or that my case was too complicated. She greeted me every visit by telling me how great I was doing and complimenting my smile. While I still have anxiety over uncomfortable procedures, Dr. Lisann and her staff really put me at ease. I don't dread going there. Strangely, I look forward to it! That's a testament to the kind of atmosphere she's committed to making her office. Secondly, look at my teeth! I am in awe. I know my case was difficult, but Dr. Lisann did not flinch when I said I wanted Invisalign. She was confident she could do it. She took one look at my teeth and said yes. This is my teeth after 5 1/2 months--I have not yet done refinements or retainers yet, so I'm not finished. But I'm thrilled. My whole face has changed and I've gained so much confidence: I smile all the time now. Given how much shame I carried for so long, this means more to me than I can put into words. Even when I imagined my teeth straight, I never imagined they could look like this. Invisalign is not cheap, but Dr. Lisann's prices were fair given what I'd been quoted before. Also, she sold me Exceledent at cost, because she saw it as a win-win for both of us as it helped the treatment along. I was able to put down a deposit and pay off the rest over the course of a year. As for the Invisalign itself, I found it pretty easy. There are a few days of discomfort, but other than that, I had no issues with it. You have to be committed and you'll have to give up snacking and sipping on anything but water, but that was not hard for me. And literally no one EVER notice that I have them. Sometimes I may turn down a drink at a social event and say, "I can't, I have my Invisalign in," and they will squint trying to see them. I had attachments on almost every tooth--I thought they'd be noticeable. But, as Dr. Lisann jokingly assured me, "People are not that observant." I just love this woman. I'm so thankful she took on my difficult case and I'm so thankful for her energy and kindness. I can't recommend her enough. read more

Highly unprofessional and stay away! I made an appointment a month ago and was very clear about my intended type of treatment. Then after the receptionist confirmed my appointment several times, on the day of my visit, they first called to ask me to come in early. Then, when I am on my way & taking the train to the office, they called me only to tell me they can't do the treatment I want - weeks after I have sent all my materials and files in. Then when I told them I am already on a train to Boston just for this visit, they blamed me for their misunderstanding! Beacon Ortho has been doing my braces treatment for over 6 months now. I got the clear braces on top and metal ones for the bottom row. I met Dr. lisann the very first day. They took my pictures and molds and she sat down with me and explained to me what had to be done to make my teeth not look like the inside of a Klingons mouth. I have seen two other Orth/dentist and they all told me that my treatment would take a year and I would be fine with Invisalign. Dr. lisann told me that this wouldn't be possible and that Invisalign just wasn't for me. The location is fine and there is plenty of parking on Washington st. A previous post mentioned that parking was hard to come by. I have worked for 8 years in the area and can tell you that there is plenty of 2 hour parking right on the street with no meters, with the most a minute walk. Yes parking is difficult if you want to park in the lot belonging to 637-651 Washington st. There is a nice clean bathroom on the property. I am always greeted with a smile when I walk in, even if I am late. I never have to wait to be seen. I wish I did, because they have these cool arcade games in the lobby with plenty of magazines. All the assistants are extremely nice and all answer my questions. It would be extremely rare not to see Dr. lisann around because it is one big room with about 5 dental chairs and she is always walking around doing something. So are the assistants. Always a smile on everyone's face. It's a real pleasure to have them stick their fingers in my mouth. So if your afraid of dentist/specialists head over here for some great Ortho care or just a consultation. BTW I have a weird schedule for work and they always have good openings. Great for kids and in my case great for adults. Don't be afraid even if your 30 years old to ask for a sticker after your visit. The front desk also has great goodies like pens and hand sanitizer and chap stick. They also offer a payment plan, and the front desk will work with you on that. Even as a new patient, they fit me right in and I didn't have to wait for than 2 minutes. Everyone was very friendly and I loved the old school video games in the waiting room and the Tetris in the exam room. Parked right in front on a stretch of Beacon without meters. read more

My two daughters have now completed treatment with Dr Shari Lisann and her friendly staff. We will miss her and maybe have to stop by to say hello! Beacon Ortho was especially good for parents, which is important because having braces requires many visits over a two-year period. The parking is easy, the financial part was transparent and reasonable, and the waiting room has lots of People magazines and even video games. Her treatment room is 'open', meaning parents can wander in and reassure/joke with their kids. The treatment is very credible and easy. read more

Outstanding! We've sent three kids there over the years, one of them quite challenging "orthodontically", all of them completed with perfect results. Dr. Lisann pays attention to every detail and has friendly, competent staff. The office has state-of-the art equipment on site. I liked them so much, even as an older adult, I decided to have my teeth straightened, with perfect results. Prices are reasonable, comparable to other practices and clearly stated up front. Dr. Lisann and her staff treated my son for braces with a wonderful outcome - lovely, straight teeth in a fairly short amount of time. We consulted with three additional orthodontists before choosing Dr. Lisann, and I greatly appreciate Dr. Lisann's conservative approach. All of her peers wanted to pull several baby teeth and then "wait it out" before putting on braces. Or, alternatively, they wanted to put on braces before losing the baby teeth and keep the braces on for several years as his teeth developed. My son would have been wearing braces 2x as long with her competitors' treatment plans and endured unnecessary discomfort. Instead, Dr. Lisann monitored my son's teeth and took into account his age and his growth rates and the impact on repositioning his teeth. No teeth were pulled. She and her staff were friendly, helpful (recommended an out-of-town orthodontist when a wire snapped), and professional. Dr. Lisann's office also runs on time with appointments and has ample parking. We are now going through the process of evaluating my younger child for braces. We are fortunate to be in such good hands. I should also note that our own pediatric dentist has an in-house orthodontist. However, when I pushed for a recommendation outside of his own practice, the dentist highly recommended Dr. Lisann. I think we made the perfect choice. read more

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A PERSON. If I could give it NO stars I would. This is not a review on the doctor, which I did not eve get to see. But on the service I received. Upon arriving 10 minutes late due to the limited parking spaces, I apologized sincerely. The hag (for lack of better words) replied "that is going to be a big problem" rolling her eyes. This is my first time at this office and NEVER have I been treated this way at ANY doctor's office. She then is huffing and puffing stating "If we do see you it will be in between patients and we'll be putting you on hold", still rolling her eyes between words. I then voiced my opinion on her treatment towards me, she defensively throws her hands up stating that is not what she is doing, and unapologetically defends herself by stating it is because I am late. I told her this is not the only place I have a referral for. She then states "that is fine, would you like to go elsewhere" in a condescending tone. I asked to speak to her superior, and without avail I end up voicing the incident to a orthodontic tech (which I am sure is not the one to voice my opinion to). She was unsympathetic, asking if I wanted to "fill out the paperwork or not". Of course I did not and asked for the doctor's email, she should be aware of those who negatively effect her brand. I then get the same email I was given for the hag at the front desk. This place is a shabby hole in the wall and as much I love supporting small businesses, I will take myself and my teeth elsewhere. read more
