I have had a life filled with dental problems. I began struggling with severe jaw pain at a young age, and after years of appointments, treatments, specialists, and uncertainty, I eventually faced the difficult decision to undergo major jaw surgery. These days I have very little time to dress and shower forget about writing a review but when it comes to Katie Klein Orthodontics, I had to speak up. I am so sad that my two older sons did not have the opportunity to be patients with this practice. But I am SO grateful that my youngest son, who not only has sensory issues but who struggles tremendously with challenging, new experiences let alone ones that are not always very comfortable or pleasant, has had Katie and her staff for his braces journey. Dr. Klein came highly recommended by my general dentist wife and her colleagues. She did a terrific job fixing my lower teeth crowding. As a board-certified orthodontist Dr. Klein can bring all the tools to bear: Invisalign as well as traditional metal braces when needed. In my case Invisalign worked well for left right realignment. Dr. Klein also installed traditional braces for a short time to raise one tooth back into vertical alignment. I couldn't be happier with the care or the outcome. I first Dr Klein back in 2017 after visiting half the orthodontists in the Boston area and getting a wide array of treatment plans I was curious to see what this world class orthodontist had to say. I instantly felt very comfortable when speaking with her and throughout my entire consultation she was very open and receptive to hearing all my worries and concerns. Being a pretty complex case requiring surgery to correct my bite, I was very scared to begin treatment. Ever since I was first in braces at the age of 11, I was told I would never correct my bite without a La Forte 1. So scared that I didn't end up returning to Dr.Klein for treatment until 2019 and I am so thankful that I did. Dr. Klein has worked with some of the best surgeons in the country and I was fortunate enough to have her coordinate my care with Dr. Peacock at MGH and they made an amazing team together. I got my braces on in January of 2020, right before the COVID pandemic and even with this world changing event, Dr. Klein never forgot about her patients. She would video chat with us and check our progress and despite the major shutdowns, she did not let this get in the way of caring for her patients. Up until the day before my surgery, she was in constant contact with both me and the oral surgeon so much so that a complex and complicated surgery went absolutely smoothly. I recently got my braces off a month ago and I am so grateful for everything Dr. Klein has done for me. My smile and bite are incredible, I never in a million years would think that the smile I see in the mirror everyday now would be mine! She was patient and kind in explaining her course of treatment to both myself and my son, and answering all our questions in detail. Her personal attention to each patient is a differentiator. If you have a complicated orthodontic case and/or are a likely candidate for maxillofacial surgery, you cannot mess around with your everyday neighborhood orthodontist. You need someone who has dealt with hundreds and thousands of cases like yours -- and harder. You want to be a boring case for them, not the one complicated case they see in their entire career. And for all this, Dr. Klein is absolutely the person you're looking for. I did countless hours of research before originally going with her and I am so glad that I did. I'm part of a jaw surgery recovery group and I cannot tell you the number of horror stories I've read about people going to incompetent orthodontists who do not understand what they are looking at and do not understand that certain cases require surgery *and* orthodontic work combined. They just pull out teeth and put on regular braces that end up making situations way, way worse. I cannot underscore enough the importance of avoiding this. Not only can it be physically devastating but the psychological toll, as attested to by so many in this group, is extreme. As I mentioned, my own case is pretty much as complicated as they come. I ultimately had to get a bilateral total joint replacement (due to ICR), lower jaw surgery, Le Fort I osteotomy, septoplasty, etc. It goes on. The surgery itself was over 12 hours. Dr. Klein saw this the first time I went to her office. She knew exactly what we needed to do. And from that moment through the entire crazy thing - having to switch surgeons four times (!) - she has been the only constant. (A tale for another time but long story short, my first surgeons - surgeons at MGH! - were absolutely incompetent and awful. It was awful and I HIGHLY recommend avoiding them. Dr. Klein helped me end up with one of the best surgeons in the country for my surgery instead, even though he wasn't at MGH [which is where she was at the time]. She and the surgeon I ultimately went with were in constant contact. They could text each other!) Honestly, she's incredible. I have literally never met a doctor who cares more about her patients than Dr. Klein. And more than just "cared" but actually put in who knows how many hours figuring out how to achieve the best outcome. She gave me her cell to call. Being a patient of Dr. Klein's has been life-changing for me. My teeth were crooked, my jaw was completely messed up and I was in a fair amount of pain. She went over my options honestly. The price was very reasonable with the large amount of work that would be need to be corrected (which included surgery). She was up front with how long it would take and how much work it would be. She is a fantastic orthodontist and really goes above and beyond what is required of her as a medical professional. She truly cares about each and every one of her patients. She is the co-chair of the orthognathic surgical team at MGH in Boston which is so reassuring. She definitely knows what she is doing and has a lot of experience. Besides being warm and professional and taking the time to make sure I had all of the information I needed, she gave me a BEAUTIFUL smile!! Dr Klein is absolutely amazing! I love my Invisilign results. My teeth were so crowded and overlapping and now they look amazing. My guess is most places take your impressions and do whatever Invisilign says. She knows better she looks at what they recommend and using her expertise works with Invisilign to make adjustments. When your done she'll do as many refinements as you want until you love your results. Please remember though you need to do the work too and wear your aligners. The first day I walked into Dr. Klein's office, she looked at me and said, "I can fix this". And she did. As a 23 year old woman at the time, the last thing that I wanted was braces. I found Dr. Klein through my regular dentist, when she came to give me a consult on my shifting teeth. I have always had a few crooked teeth but were more bothered once they started shifting and spacing out. My first impression of her was that she was very professional and personable. She gave me an overview of how she could help me and it was my decision to move forward or not. I made an appointment with her after consulting with my insurance coverage. We decided to move forward with putting braces on my teeth, which was slightly scary to me being an adult and just married. I opted for the clear braces, which were much better, but necessary for my bite. The whole process was "painless' with Dr. Klein and her staff, everyone is always very friendly in the office. I only needed to have the braces on for a year and a half, it seemed like it flew by. She really knows what she is doing and always explained the process and next steps for each visit. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with her, and continue my follow up appointments. I would definitely recommend her to others.
