She got me two interviews, and I was hired for a different contract job on the second interview. The job paid well, and the work environment was very good. I wish I could give this agency negative stars. I've lost count the number of times someone from Beacon Resource has contacted me through LinkedIn and/or Indeed, only to never follow up or respond to my messages that expressed my interest on the opportunities that person presents. The latest incident happened on 10/15/20 when Rosa Carmelo contacted me though Indeed. ROSA CARMELO: Your accomplishments are very impressive! Even in these uncertain times, we have many clients who are growing and hiring. I am working on an (sic) Senior Staff Accountant opportunity in Orange County. Are you open to hearing about new opportunities? Are you available for a quick 10-15 min call today or tomorrow? I would like to learn more about you and what kinds of opportunities you are interested in for your next role. If you are looking to move to the next level in your career, I would love to discuss that as well. Can you send me a good contact number to reach you at? I look forward to hearing from you! (Job description followed in message) MY RESPONSE: Hi Rosa, I can talk right now. My phone number is XXX-XXX-XXXX. I look forward to hearing from you. (END MESSAGE) Nothing but crickets after that. Never heard from Rosa again, and like I previously stated, she is not the first person from Beacon Resources to not follow up. I tried to call their office, but now I get a recorded message that the phone number has changed or is no longer is service. My frustration is now at the point I felt compelled me to write this review. I will NEVER respond to these people ever again. What really saddens me is that I have worked with a couple of these people before at other agencies. Sara Vigeland, who is actually works at DLC, the parent company of Beacon Resources, and Ryan Milne, the manager of Beacon Resources, were people that, once upon a time, had a good working relationship with me. Now they also completely ignore me. Very disheartening. It may stem from the time I had last worked for Ryan Milne when he was at the other agency, and the client unjustifiably stated he wasn't happy with my work and wanted a refund for my services. Ryan Milne had asked me to sacrifice part of the pay I received from that assignment and I told him that I wouldn't. I thought it was completely out of line and I had never experienced anything like that before or since then. Needless to say, Ryan never contacted me again about another assignment. I'm not sure what he said to Sara, but I'm completely disappointed Sara took his word without speaking to me despite having a good working relationship with her in the past. I've tried to contact her directly, but she has not returned my messages. :-( I digress. Look at the past negative reviews and you'll notice their experiences are similar to mine in terms of being misled into believing they seriously interested in you and wanting to establish a working relationship. I couldn't agree more with the below post. Beacon was eager to get me in their office, quickly met, glanced over my resume, the follow up was one 'potential' job, then I never had a response for my FIVE follow up emails. I also messaged a different employee (who called me after I went in their office, but didn't realize I had met with a another employee), and had ZERO response. I'd have appreciated just simple follow up, even if the team didn't want to work with me, but got absolutely nothing. Move on if you're looking for general decency in your headhunter. read more

These people jerk you around and send e-mails on attractive job openings, and then when you try to respond, good luck trying to get a real, live person to speak with. I've left countless voicemails and e-mails and no response or reply. Very unprofessional. There are more reputable agencies out there. Don't waste your time with Beacon Resources. Update: I should've held off on my review. Someone from Beacon did contact me to apologize and explained why I wasn't contacted, which I appreciate. I used to work with the recruiting manager when he was with another agency. He was very helpful and did help me find employment, and he's a very nice guy. He assured me that his agency does want to help me with my new job search. My advice is to go ahead and give them a chance. You may not hear from them immediately, but they will return your inquiry. You'll just have exercise some patience. read more

Won't spend much time reviewing the unprofessional crew at Beacon. I can only agree with previous comments of their trolling activities for resumes, and insistence on meeting face-to-face. The group makes up clients from web listed positions, and will never return a call. The least Beacon can do after wasting people's time, is be professional and inform someone that there is no job fit, or something of the likes. Their blog posting "One man's trash, is another man's treasure," makes me chuckle. The blog proves how their client positions, are so measly that candidates reject them once they find out the name of the hiring company. Yet in the blog, the recruiter sobs about how he doesn't understand why someone would not want to leave a good job for a dismal career opportunity. Definitely pass on these guys. read more

Thrilled with my experience with Beacon Resources. I submitted my resume to an online job posting and was contacted by Dana Carr Brown. We set up an in person meeting and she was terrific with helping me make the necessary changes to my resume to make me more marketable for the position I was seeking. Within a few weeks she had submitted me to several available positions and I had accepted a temp to perm position with a great company. All of my interactions with Dana and the staff of Beacon have been professional and helpful. She was in contact with me throughout the process. I have been using Beacon Resources for over 15 years and have to say they have always been extremely professional and responsive to any questions that I had and always followed through on their commitments. I have used them to find candidates as well being placed by them so I know how they work. As a candidate, they have always found positions that would be of high interest to me and they have never oversold the position to get me to try to leave for the wrong reason. They listened to what I was looking for and only presented positions that fit those parameters. Even during the interview process, they kept me fully updated as to what was going on and where I stood in line. I received specific feedback that was shared with them by their client. No false promises and no bait and switch! As a client, they actually listened to what I wanted and then help me craft a proper job description. They gave me good ideas and defined a profile for an ideal candidate. These positions were management level positions. Once the profile was created, they resourced a select number of candidates to present. I would say about 90% of the candidates they presented would've been acceptable for the position but obviously it came down to the right fit amongst the 90%. Not to say they are perfect, but I found this % to be more accurate than other agencies I have used in the past. I plan on using them again for my next open position. I highly recommend their services as a client and a candidate. read more
