Second time coming to the Beacon and what a time was had!! I came to see Earth Wind and Fire and it was an awesome experience! Security check was quick and easy. Next time I'll leave my backpack and gym bag at home! In the lobby they have drinks for sale, band merchandise, and light snacks. We found our entrance and went to our seats. Great view of the stage. Acoustics were very good. The stage the perfect height. The show amazing. The tickets were reasonably priced.

I don't choose concerts for the venue, as my attendance at various plain concrete slabs in the summer indicates, but the Beacon has great decor including a glamorous ceiling. For last night's John Fogerty show the guitars and drums sounded great but the vocal mix was less than ideal, no idea if that's a Beacon thing. Given that some Beacon headliners could play bigger rooms, the prices can seem initially alarming but you can find bargains. I wound up in a part of the balcony that was closer to the stage than expected but was also an unlabeled semi-obstructed view. It's not crucial that Fogerty's feet may have been out of view but I couldn't see the drummer. Bathrooms are a bit claustrophobic. The workers were helpful in getting people into, and out of, the venue. Audience talking was 47% below average, meaning 88% less than Pier 17 levels.

This theater is amazing! It's huge with many levels of seatings including balcony. I saw a few shows here - Phil from Netflix's Somebody Feed Phil and also Ronny Chieng and again Ronny Chieng with Hasan Minhaj. The shows were all so great and funny. It's so beautiful inside. There are a few concession stands and merch stands too. They usually do security checks so better to get there early.

Came to see the Goo Goo Dolls here. It is a beautiful old-fashioned theater. It's beautiful and it's clean. I wish we had been told that the view from our seats was partially blocked by the wall in front of the seats in front of us. Other than that, it was a nice experience.

Such a beautiful old venue and an awesome place for a concert.

Well, we found ourselves back at the Beacon again for the Goo Goo Dolls concert. It's a nice theater. It's clean. It has a nice old pot vibe. The staff is attentive and polite. I was very unhappy with the fact that our view of the front half of the stage was blocked from our seats because the row in front of us had a half wall in front of them separating them from the walkway. The wall was just tight enough to block our view of the beginning of the stage area. That was very disappointed.

Been here before to see shows, great intimate setting, not a bad seat in the house. Only thing that I'd say is a negative is the drink prices. Kevin Bridges is funny as hell, everyone should go see him!!

Gorgeous theater. I saw Jackson Browne on 8/14/25. I bought the ticket 2-3 hours before the show started. The sound and acoustics are great. The theatre is old and the seats are smaller. The show was great and Jackson Browne played for 3 whole hours. The theatre was HOT. People were asking the ushers why they turned the air off! After his 3rd encore I was wishing he'd call it a night so I could get out of here to cool off. For the record I was wearing a sleeveless top.

Back again to see Trevor Noah! The Beacon security was thorough and quick! All staff was friendly, professional and welcoming! Seats were comfortable! The bathroom was clean. And the bas were open on every level. The beer and wine was fine although they do make specialty cocktails! The venue was perfect for seeing Trevor! Hope to be back again soon!

Ask the Community - Beacon Theatre

Where to eat before a show?

There is a lovely Spanish restaurant on the upper west side, called Tasca. I highly recommend it!

Are the seats comfortable at all for people who are bigger?

They are standard, old-style, theater seats. If you weigh 250+, they will likely be a tight fit.

Everybody did such a great job and I really loved Scorpius's character. Of course Tom Felton was there as the original Draco Malfoy, which is the entire reason that we came. If you want to during the play, you can order food to your seat which I thought was cool. The rest of the snacks were good for what they were. We booked through AAA and got a snack bag with popcorn water and a cursed child cup filled with Gummies. Everything was really good. If I could change one thing and I know this is like, "come on" but the seats were kind of uncomfortable. Google says that the Lyric Theatre was redone in 1996. The show was surprisingly modern, and completely captivating from start to finish. The energy in the theater was unreal as everyone, including celebrities, came out to celebrate Megan Thee Stallion in her final performance as Zidler. She was hilarious, quick, and owned that stage in every moment she appeared. Even though I've seen her perform on tour, it felt like such a special experience to witness. We soaked in the city, took in some sights, and of course grabbed a slice while we were there. I am beyond grateful to my husband for such an incredible and thoughtful gift. Even though it's a non-traditional spin on the character, she infuses the role with her signature "hot girl" energy and is a total joy to watch on stage. Despite her massive personality, she manages not to overshadow the rest of the cast. I think that speaks volumes about the group's chemistry... she fits right in without upstaging anyone. Since it's a jukebox musical anyway, having Meg perform some of her own hits while the rest of the company joined in was a great touch. Having seen the original cast in the 2019 Moulin Rouge production, which was also wonderful, I'm really glad I got to experience both interpretations.
