This is our favorite place in Hudson to lunch with the ladies. The menu is large, and what we have tried so far is delicious and expertly prepared. The service is friendly and super efficient. We have no complaints - just praise! This diner is also comfortable and inviting. We like sitting in the booths, and can carry on conversations with no interruptions by loud customers. Of the many times we've visited, one in our group LOVES the mushroom cheeseburger with coleslaw. She doesn't get anything else. But that's because she's lived in Hudson for more than 30 years and has tried almost everything on the menu! My other friend has decided that the fries and cheeseburger are her lunch favorites. As for me, I'm still sampling the menu items. So far, I have liked the grilled chicken breast, the Cobb salad, the chicken salad and the grilled cheese. Stopped on for lunch. Greeted quickly with a smile. Had a cheeseburger with Cole slaw. Burger was awesome as was the slaw. Only request would be more than the " thimble " of slaw. Would certainly return. read more

The food: there were 7 of us. We had stuffed French toast, a Greek salad, a Greek omelet, chopped steak and eggs, fried steak and eggs, a chocolate chip pancake and sausage gravy. The stuffed French toast was fantastic. My niece at half of the generous portion and was full. She saved the leftover (unusual for her). My other niece had the chocolate chip pancake. She gave glowing reviews of that as well. My father had the Greek salad - unusual breakfast fare, but never the less he says it was one of the best Greek salads he had ever had. Despite being a salad he walked away full. My mother had the chopped steak and eggs. Basically a hamburger. But still another home run. She enjoyed it. My nephew had the sausage gravy - he liked it. My sister had the Greek omelet - and an hour later she is still raving about how great it was. I had the fried steak and eggs. The eggs were a little rubbery, my toast came out Without being toasted and only 3 of the four pieces had butter. The second batch of toast was much better. I didn't send the eggs back. At this point the rest of my group was nearly finished eating. The steak wasn't bad. It came out smothered in gravy that tasted like it had been in a can recently. I don't recommend it. Maybe it was an off day for the fried steak. I can accept that. All in all I'd have given four stars except for the service. Our waitress was middle aged and had black hair with a mildly Spanish speaking accent. Black hair, short. Chubby. Can't miss her, she's been our waitress every time we've eaten there. Things ended in a good place. But they did NOT start well. There were seven of us, and she gave us an attitude and was rude when we asked for more than one menu. She said menu costs are too high that we needed to share. with three kids within a year or two of 10, that just wasn't going to happen. Before you think perhaps the menus are expensive and costly - no - these are laser printer copies with hand writing on the top. Cheap looking, cheap feeling, amateur hour $.08 copies from Office Depot. It is a fragile situation indeed if 8 cents will break it. Honestly raise prices by 8 cents and give everyone a menu. Then she forgot - she forgot my drink, she brought my food out last well after everyone else's, and it was both over (eggs) and under (bread) cooked. It sort of felt like retribution over my demand for three menus. It was petty. She never introduced her self, I don't know her name. But I do know That I do not appreciate being treated the way she did at the start of the meal. By the end, she had settled down somewhat and was tolerable. She complimented my nieces and nephew and that made up for a lot. But if they ask me where I want to go, it won't be this establishment. Four star food, 1 star service. Average pricing. I have to laugh at the one star reviews for this place on others, where the customer raves about the food but gives one star because of service, never taking into account that large groups, substitutions and difficultly finding help are all issues. Two stars or three ok, but one. Guess it's better to have great servers and crappy food. It not in my book. read more

You can not beat the prices here and I would have given them 4 stars but a couple of the older waitresses here have an attitude and that can ruin it for you. It does not bother me because I just don't tip as much. Never had more than breakfast here but it is really good and only a dollar if you order the specials!!!!!!!! read more

Worst experience of my life with the antagonistic, argumentative hispanic waitress who just harrassed me to death. She decided to supervise the old people coming and going and kept barking orders. She made me so upset that I finally said, "I don't need any supervision." Then she went off on a rant. I told her to stop several times and she would not. This woman is a nut case. I've been a customer for 10 years although I haven't been in mThe scrambled eggs were deliciousuch in the last two years. I think there must be a new owner. I didn't see any of the waitresses that used to make this such a comfortable place. At 9:30 am, the place was only 2/3 full of people which is most unusual. There were only two waitresses. The scrambled eggs were delicious and the cook brought them out to me himself to apologize because the same waitress had ignored me for so long. The potato salad was swimming in mayo. I feel sorry for the owner who just might be the cook. Thank you for your apology but nothing can make up for the way I was treated by that waitress. read more

How do you know it's good food? Your husband says yum with every bite! I had the western omelette, which was way more than I could eat, but very tasty. The husband had a special, which was spinach pie with a Greek salad side. It was super fresh and good. It was our first visit here, but will definitely come back. Breakfast - my favorite. NOT here. All wrapped up in my home fries, as I'm chewing, at the back of my mouth, PAIN. So I have to spit my food out into my plate, and what do I find?? According to the waitress 'a piece of what we use to scrub the pots. Yes, stainless steel, but not the thin kind like in a brillo, a hunk of heavy duty stainless, all gnarled up. Then, she takes it from my hand, and walks away with it to the back room/kitchen. It felt like it was still there from the injury. So I was sitting there coughing and drinking water. She came back out and was writing tickets at the counter, and my husband called her over. And she said "We don't know what it is, and I said "And it doesn't even seem like you care. Is the manager here?" To which she said," we'll take it off your bill - no manager. He'll be here tomorrow". Really??? There IS NO bill! Just a one-star rating. It's troubling to me as to HOW could a cleaning steel-wool get into my home fries?? One does not clean plates with that. Only metal pots! read more

This is the best Mom and Pop type place around. Often go here for breakfast and/or lunch on the weekends and once in a while on a Friday night for dinner. The food is always amazing. You cannot beat the taste or the prices! The staff is wonderful. They are friendly, courteous, and never leave you without something you need. So much better than the big chain restaurants. This is a charming restaurant. It is relatively small - owned by a Greek chef and his wife and caters mostly to locals. The food is wholesome and very good. Peter, the owner, cares very much about what he prepares - and it shows. He makes things from scratch - - even the biscuits and gravy - it is down home and delish. In season - they are open during the week for dinners - I think Wed-Fri - but call to check. Finally - the pricing is VERY reasonable. It is a worthwhile find. Enjoy. read more

The food is great and fast, But if you have a Service dog, DO NOT GO HERE. The staff will embarrasse you and your party, and there is always ONE customer who says Why is that dog in here? Waitress then tells him that they cannot stop them because it's against the law. We had to wait ten minutes to get coffee and order, then our ticket was tossed on the table!! We took our ticket up to the register to pay for the meal and I apologized to her about the incident. She then tells me they should outlaw the Service Dog act because too many people come in with their pets and say they are Service Dogs. With that said... I told her they as a business had the right to ask for the dog's ID. She said it didn't matter she felt that the law was stupid. We have had a problem with a different waitress six months ago and she yelled at us!! Thinking that maybe it was just the one waitress, uh no, It's the whole CREW!!!!
