Sooo much fun!! The cutest little house, they do have a couple designated parking spots around back, or you can find street parking in the neighborhood. The store is clean and organized in a way that is easy to navigate. All beads were clearly labeled with price. They had almost any color, or material you would want in beads. They also had sections of charms and pendants. You could really make anything- necklaces, earrings, bracelets, even keychains! There is a lot to choose from, I was a little overwhelmed at first but the staff is AMAZING. They were very well staffed and were very willing to help. There were already made pieces around the store, or they were able to look at inspo pictures and find beads/pieces that matched. Once you pick out your pieces, they give you a board to lay it out, and string to bead it on, then they take care of putting the clasp on and finishing it. They have tall tables to work at so you can stand while you work, or sit in a stool. You can drop in anytime they are open, but they are only open until 4:00 during the week. We scheduled a private party which they do after hours, is $20 a person not including jewelry, and you need a minimum of 8 people. We also brought our own drinks and snacks. As far as pricing, everything is very clearly labeled, then it was an addition $5 to put the chain and clasp on. My necklace was $40 total and most pieces made by our group ranged from $30-$60 for the most part. I will definitely be back!! read more

I really enjoyed my first time beading and Beads, Inc. made it a pleasure! This really is a beautiful space for any business, but having all the sparkles and colors and beautiful design inspirations makes it even more dazzling! Everything is neat and clean and well organized. There is an upstairs as well with some different materials. A group of us went in with some nibbles and wine and just took the place over for the evening. All of the ladies working there were very helpful and even did some of the connecting and stringing to help us along. You can have your necklaces fixed here, make new jewelry, take a jewelry making class, or buy pre made jewelry. The girls are super helpful and will help you put together whatever piece you are making and make suggestions. I would describe Beads as an upscale bead'a'porium lol. I don't know, its definitely more than a bead store, that's for sure. They had a great selection of beads and accessories. I could see that they were offering classes, had drinks for customers, and had staff available to answer questions. Although it seemed a bit upscale, the staff was very friendly and personable. The only thing that I did not like was the super small parking lot. The day I visited, it was pretty crowded so there was no place to park. The neighboring parking lots were all reserved for their businesses (which is understandable). I would not advise using the other businesses parking lots unless you don't mind chancing the prospect of getting towed. On a String Bead Shop is not the largest bead shop in town, but Christine the young hip owner has a great selection of bead strands. Everyone seems to find something that they love in this shop, and she and her helpers are always fantastic at suggesting stuff and helping prioritize when you start drooling. The shop is divided into 3 small rooms which helps make it feel quaint and manageable. If you are particularly "blingy" she definitely has crystals and that sort of thing but also antiquey beads and all different kinds of stones. I am really into chain so I wish they had a bit more of it like Ornamentea in Raleigh, but otherwise she does a great job buying a fashionable selection. They even host birthday/bridal parties there during evenings and we went there for a friend's bday. Word of warning though - my only complaint is that there's a fee on top of your jewels, which I think is wrong. Everyone's going to buy something, so it's not like it's going to be a waste of time/money. But that said, EVERYONE had a great time and found something they absolutely loved whether it's a simple pair of drop earrings to a bold statement necklace. One other note- said bday princess also got all of her bridesmaids necklaces there and had Christine design them and they were gorgeous, so if you lack vision/inventiveness you could always "commission" pieces. read more

If I owned a bead store, this is how I would want it to be. The atmosphere and decor is inspiring and beautiful AND prices are reasonable. Beads are sold loose and by the strand. Every employee I encountered offered to help me and was pleasant without being overbearing. There were at least 5-6 employees to help with choosing and creating jewelry. The store is in a converted home with rooms upstairs and downstairs for creating and shopping. Took the FREE introductory class today with my mother in law and it was awesome! They had all the supplies set out and ready to go and we made a beautiful bracelet and earrings that we got to keep! The service her was fine but the prices where through the roof. When I was shopping the beads where cheap the pendants where cheep and all was good. We finished up and the total was crazy. They did not tell us the price of string or even the price it would be to work at their table. That's right it cost 20$ to use their tables for an hour! Ridiculous! My husband and I took the Saturday morning class together. They were so welcoming and friendly it took all of the intimidation out of the experience. While exploring the Charlotte area for a Bead Store I came across Beads Inc. I felt like I was walking into a Doll House. The store and it's ambiance is soooooooo inspiring, elegant, inviting, organized and well stocked. The aesthetic was unlike anything I had ever seen in a bead shop. They have big wooden work tables and stools for doing projects and taking classes. The have beads displayed in beautiful hollowed out picture frames hanging on the walls like works of art. Each room is housed with an array of beautiful and unique beads by the strand that are of great quality and reasonably priced. They even have a room full of unparalleled loose beads. I felt like a kid in a toy store. Not only can you go in to purchase beads and beading materials for your beading needs. You can drop in at anytime for assistance with your project. You can even shop and create in the same visit. On my first visit to the shop last week I was greeted by all the staff and they were all eager to assist and accommodate my shopping needs. I not only purchased beads, but one of the owners Anne made every effort to give me a tutorial on how to add a toggle closure to my bracelets. I was so impressed with their willingness to help and their stellar customer service that I returned a few days later to do more shopping and another project. I wanted to make a necklace something I had never done before. I had the vision I just didn't know how to put it together cohesively. I showed and explained to the other store owner Christine what I wanted and she stood by my side from beginning to end helping me develop my piece. This shop has it all! For years I've admired a girlfriends jewelry and she always told me she went here to have it custom made. Finally I stopped when I had some free time after an appointment near uptown. Boy am I glad I did. It was like walking into a grown woman's candy store. I walked around at first to just soak it all in. They have some lovely already made pieces and then what seemed like thousands of different beads and strands and chains that you can mix and match and create. I've never made my own jewelry before but the sweet girls running around helping everyone said they could easily make it for me. I settled on a cool purple glass bead and some tiny chain tassels and had them make me some earrings.II'm delighted to say my custom earrings were about $20! They don't even charge you to make it! I'm wearing them now with my favorite sweater and don't want to take them off! Can't wait to go back and spend some more time. I even plan on bringing in a blouse I can't seem to find the right necklace to match the neckline. I bet those creative ladies will have a solution for me in no time! read more
