The staff were polite and capable, and the watch bracelet is now installed, but I had a process/communication issue that's worth noting. I brought in a Sinn watch bracelet and was very clear that I only wanted a test fit performed and that I did not want any modification made to the watch or bracelet. Despite that, parts were altered to make it fit, and I was informed only after the fact. To their credit, the watch appears unharmed and the bracelet is secure, but ignoring explicit instructions -- especially on a quality mechanical watch -- is not something I'm comfortable with. I would strongly recommend confirming expectations very clearly before leaving watch work here. read more

They were able to inspect, clean, and fix my ring same day; they did this as a courtesy to me when they told me it would be a couple days and I told them I would bring it back after I visited my grandfather. My grandfather lives in CA and was the one who gave me this family heirloom. They made sure I knew my diamond before I left it with them, cleaned it up so well that it looked like a brand new ring!, and fixed not only the immediate issue of the putting the diamond setting back in, but to the quality of "cleaning out" the old solder and replacing the setting as it was meant to be. Paid to have rings soldered together and it lasted a couple of months and I took it back and they kept the rings a week. When I went to pick up they still were not fixed so he quickly soldered the broken place back which was very sloppy and now 2 months later it has broken again. Not impressed at all. read more

I had several rings that needed to be resized. This jeweler was rated high for jewelry repair so I took two of the rings in to get them fixed. The jeweler did a fantastic job! The band on one of the rings had split because it was so thin. I was asked if I wanted the band to be beefed up a bit which I agreed to do. The ring looks as if it has always had the new band and now I do not need to be concerned about it breaking again. My most precious ring is my birthstone which my parents had bought for my 16th birthday. It was a size 6 which needed to be sized up to an 8. It looks like it has always been an 8. A subtle groove in the band was maintained and the ring looks like new. The last ring I wanted sized turned out to have a band that was not gold. I was informed that if they tried to cut and weld it, it would be discolored. So, they recommended that they put in a ring size adjuster which I agreed to and it works perfectly! This place is great! My wife's wedding ring had a few loose stones (one even fell out and we found it). I had brought it to a different jeweler for repair and the stones were still loose. After bringing it back to that place another time to find the a loose stone, I didn't want to risk her losing a stone. We put the ring down for several months and never got around to getting it repaired. I came upon King's Jewelry while in the area one day and decided to stop in. I spoke with the owners and they were helpful, so I decided to have them take a look at the ring. Upon inspection they showed me that most of the prongs were broken off the stones. I was given an estimate for repairs and told it would be ready in 7-10 business days. I called on the tenth day and they told me they were finishing up and just had to clean the ring. When I arrived, the ring looked great! They showed me the repairs and honored the cost on the original estimate. Additionally, they worked with my insurance company to help me make a claim for the repairs so I was able to get reimbursed for the costs. I had a ring needed to be resized smaller. The first time I went they took down my measurement and what the size needed to be. They told me it would be ready by that Thursday (it was monday) I called Thursday at 3pm to make sure it was ready. They said to give them till Friday that they hadn't done it yet. I went to pick it up Friday afternoon because when I called Friday morning they said it wasn't ready. STILL. So when I got my ring, it wasn't the right size. I had to wait another week (next Thursday) to pick up. Again when I called Thursday, it wasn't ready. :) Fun game right? Picked up my ring that Saturday. Super fun use of my time and $60. I was so excited when I brought my mom's wedding ring and band into Kings Jewelry for an estimate to be fixed + cleaned and learned that not only would it be 4x less expensive than Kay Jewelers, but also since it didn't have to be shipped off (which is scary when you're dealing with sentimental jewelry) it would be done in a week vs over a month!! I asked lots of questions and they were all well answered and I felt safe leaving my mom's ring in their hands. One week later I went to pick up her ring and it looked brand new! They fixed bent prongs, added gold onto the worn out prongs over the main diamond, and replaced small ones as well. I inherited a diamond eternity (baguette) band from my aunt when she passed. The ring is somewhere around 50 years old. She never took it off her finger and when she was sick they put hand cream on her hands everyday and all over the ring. The cream was very greasy and really dulled the stones... This place is ridiculous. I went in to have my Movado watch fitted and was quoted $10 for the service. It took the guy behind the counter three tries to get it right, which, no big deal, right? Wrong. Because it took HIM three tries to get it right, he thought he'd change the price to $15 to make up for the extra time. I'm not sure what the weather is like on the planet where this sounds like a good idea, but I was floored. Look, it's only $5, so I paid it because I really didn't have time to negotiate the "new" price on my lunch break. The moral for me is, this guy clearly has zero business ethics and could care less about the customer experience.
