A couple of years ago, I was **allegedly** going over the speed limit on 280. You know, that highway where people routinely drive 90mph due to an open clear road? Due to the **alleged** speed I was not eligible for traffic school, so it was either pay the ticket (with stupid court fees!), get increased insurance costs (due to not being eligible for traffic school), or defend myself in the court of law. I chose the latter, and I chose to work with Beahm Law due to the overwhelming number of positive reviews and a referral from a friend. After a quick phone call and a payment of a retainer fee, Jason took care of everything. The day of the hearing, I got an email from Beahm Law stating that they were successful in the defense and the case was closed. I looked up the case and basically what happened was the citing officer failed to appear, so my case was dismissed. Sure, I could have gone in there myself, but that's a waste of time for me. Not to mention, if the officer did show up, what defense did I have? Hopefully Jason had some strong ammo in his briefcase, but in any case I was happy as I got a favorable outcome and I didn't have to show up anywhere. Best. News. Ever (especially for Friday the 13th): Case Dismissed! If you're looking for someone to contest your speeding ticket and WIN, look no further. Beahm Law will take care of it for you! Right before heading to SoCal during Memorial Day weekend, I was driving locally (to a tennis match) and was pulled over by a policeman with a BIG, FAT attitude! After pulling me over, our conversation went along the lines of... Him: Do you know how fast you were going? Me: I'm not sure. Him (Persistently): Give me a rough number. Me: I don't know. (Why do police officers always feel the need to ask if you're in a hurry or to give them a rough estimate of your speed. Is that necessary? Is it going to change their mind on giving you a ticket? I really doubt it.) Him: Would you be surprised if I told you that you were going as fast as the freeway speed limit? Me: How fast was I going? Him: 70, and the limit here is 45. Are you in a hurry? Me: I have a tennis match to go to, and then I'm off to Southern California. I may have been going fast, but I was sure I wasn't going at 70. Plus, the other cars were going at my speed, and I suspect that he pulled me over because I was closest to him. So, I decided to ask... Me: Can I see the radar reading? (He goes over to his motorcycle, and comes back a few seconds later) Him: Oh, it erased itself. But, you were going at 70. It mysteriously erased itself, really? Wow. I just didn't know what to say at that point. Plus, I didn't want to give him a piece of my mind since he might just write me up for giving him an attitude. So, I kept silent. After handing me the ticket... Him: You can either contest it or pay the fine. Me: What are the procedures for contesting it? Him: If you contest it, I WILL BE THERE (clearly emphasizing the last part). Me: Okay, thanks. And, of course he had to put in the last word... Him: If you were going really fast and get into an accident and DIE, you'd never make it to your game. That's something to think about. Thanks, officer, for portraying such a vivid picture in my mind, and ruining my three-day weekend. Initially, I wasn't going to fight the charge. But, after I had to deal with someone as unpleasant as him, I Yelped for a law firm with a good reputation and found Beahm Law. I'm so glad I found them! They told me that I didn't have to deal with the officer anymore, and that they'd take care of the ticket. All I did was email them my personal information and the speeding ticket, and voila! Not unless you buy me drinks first and we've agreed on a safe word. So instead I called a lawyer. If I have to give my money to the donut industry or the legal industry, I'll support the legal industry first. This is San Francisco - we don't fucking eat donuts. Based on my research, it is very hard to win against a VC 21950 (a) citation (you can Google it for the details), especially if the ticketing offer is on a motorcycle. However, Beahm Law got my case dismissed, and I was worry-free the entire time because of their excellent service. There was very minimal work on my part. All I had to do was give them some initial paperwork, and they took care of everything else - showing up in court, etc...
