Bealls always has a nice, reasonably priced clothing. It's my go to store! The clerks always get you through fast too.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at TJ Maxx in The Villages today was extremely…read moredisappointing. Around 12:40 PM, I found a dress in the clearance section with a red clearance tag clearly marked at $10. I spent time shopping, selected several dresses, and went to the fitting room to try them on. After deciding to purchase three dresses, including the clearance dress, I headed to checkout. The cashier scanned the first two dresses without any issue. When she scanned the clearance dress, she immediately removed the red tag and informed me that the dress was actually $29.99 because the clearance tag had supposedly been placed on the item by mistake. Since I had found the dress in the clearance section and with a red clearance tag attached, I politely asked to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, the manager simply told me that $29.99 was the correct price and that nothing could be done. What bothered me was not the additional $19.99. Had the dress been marked at $29.99 from the beginning, I would have made my purchasing decision based on that price. The problem was being told at checkout that the clearly displayed clearance price of $10 would not be honored. Customers should be able to trust the prices and tags displayed by a store. If a pricing or tagging mistake was made, it was not made by the customer. What disappointed me most was the lack of empathy and any effort to find a reasonable solution. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, misled, and undervalued as a customer. I left the store without the dress and with a much different impression of TJ Maxx than I had when I walked in. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled in the future, because customer trust is built on transparency and fairness.

It's fine as Targets go. Good selection of products. My biggest gripe is with the check outs. They…read moreusually have 2-4 self check outs (my preferred method) and 1 or 2 lanes open. The issue is when they only have 1 check out open and maybe 2 or 3 self check outs. They now limit the self check outs to 10 items or less. If anyone has an issue on the self check out, they have to wait for the sole full check out person to be available to help them. It's a bad model to have the self check outs managed by the regular check out person. It leads to long wait times and a stressed out looking clerk. Plus if they have to help at self check out, then their line is at a stand still and vice versa. I like Target as a store, but the way they've been handling check out this past year has A LOT of room for improvement.

I will say, if you're looking at kids clothes, toys, young women's and men's clothes then Lady Lake is the better option. The demographic in Lady Lake being 55+ means they aren't buying these products that are probably sold out in Ocala. The store is also clean and organized every time I shop here. I prefer visiting the Lady Lake location, getting an iced chai at Starbucks and getting some steps in while shopping is always a treat.

I like this one much better and it's closer to home. You can see your face in those shiny floors! Here's a few highlights: 1) Regular and Self check out lanes 2) CVS pharmacy in store 3) Starbucks in store 4) As you enter, there is a spirits shop to the right before you enter the main store (I didn't get a chance to look around) 5) Large food/grocery area 6) Large in store wine and drink selection (a full aisle plus a cold section) 7) Tons of seasonal decor and Halloween stuff already out 8) The aisles are wide and bright - signage is very clear - easy to find what you're looking for 9) Sizeable amount of clothing options 10) Plenty of pet options - toys, food, litter, etc. 11) Also a tech/electronics section with TVs, Gaming systems, etc. The staff was really friendly and answered my questions about how this Target was different from the other one near by. They were enthusiastic about all the features of the store and how nice it is. This is definitely our new go to Target. Seeing one of the original gathering places getting such a major makeover feels like watching a piece of local history begin a whole new chapter. Even with construction underway, you can still feel the charm and character that made Spanish Springs such an important part of The Villages for more than 30 years. After three decades, I honestly think this renovation is much needed. The square is getting refreshed with beautiful new landscaping, updated gathering spaces, improved lighting, and renovated storefronts while still preserving the Spanish-style architecture that gives it so much personality. New additions include J.Jill, Coffee for the Soul, Barons Creek Vineyards, Blondie's Bar, and the new Genesis Health Club. Longtime favorites like Kilwins, Bella Vita Italian Steakhouse, Coastal del Mar Seafood Grill, Panera Bread, Flippers Pizzeria, Amerikanós Grille, and Ay! Jalisco continue to make this a place where you can easily spend an afternoon or evening. I can't wait to come back once everything is complete. Spanish Springs has always been the heart of the original Villages community, and I think this revitalization is exactly what it needed. It's refreshing to see such an iconic place being thoughtfully updated instead of losing the character that made people fall in love with it in the first place. I have a feeling it's going to become one of the most beautiful town squares in The Villages once again.
