The sign outside that brought us in
Jasmine D.

Bean and leaf Café saved me and my cousin on a very hungry cold Boston morning! We had a day of activities ahead of us and were craving a nice hardy breakfast. upon going into the café, we noticed it was small, but everybody was so friendly and it was very clean. We ordered our food at the front counter and then picked it up when it was ready. Everything was very flavorful and so fresh I highly recommend anyone looking for a delicious quick but filling & delicious breakfast to come into Bean and leaf cafe.

Great place to get a quick affordable breakfast with amazing customer service. I got the breakfast burrito and substituted out the sausage with avocado. It hit the spot. I highly recommend and did the mention how nice the staff is!

Yummy food, amazing iced coffee, and kind, helpful people! Definitely recommend and will definitely be one of my go to places!

Breakfast on a weekday at 7:30 AM, they were still working on getting set up so I was the only one in here. I opted for the ham & cheese omelet with home fries and with coffee, it came to a round $10. A few minutes later, the young lady brought my breakfast to my table. Huge omelet. The fluffy kind, not the flat kind, which is my favorite. A good amount of ham and cheese in there, I could only eat half of it. Potatoes were good but I thought too salty. They have a great selection of hot sauces on the counter and the Cholula added an appropriate amount of kick for breakfast. Small shop but they do well.

Mango Chicken Salad Sandwich Lunch - So yummy!!

Small place with couple of outdoor tables. Serves mostly soup, salad etc. mostly Mediterranean food. I went to quickly grab some food with my colleagues. They order some Mediterranean roll ups. I found the daily special interesting and wanted to try it. It was Mango chicken with salad and rice. It was hot in temperature and sweetish in taste. I am not a big fan of sweet food but this was flavorful. Loved it!! My colleagues seemed okay with their lunch.. so it was definitely not bad. I don't think I will go back because I didn't find anything else in the menu that I wish to try. It's not a bad place though. Fresh, tasty food. Definitely go there once and decide if you want to visit again.

A great avocado and cheese omelet, home-fries, toast, and sausage. Loved it!

But I'm actually writing about the company's website and phone recording. Once, on a prior holiday, and today due to a winter storm, I wasn't sure if the restaurant was open. In both cases (where the restaurant turned out to be closed), the website (appropriately) didn't allow online orders, and (more importantly) THE OUTGOING PHONE RECORDING WAS UPDATED WITH CURRENT INFORMATION. In an era where businesses barely have phone numbers to call, or employees who answer with something other than 'hello', is rare (and by the way, this is the fault of management if they don't properly train their staff). THANK YOU FOR HAVING YOUR SHIT TOGETHER IN COMMUNICATING YOUR HOURS TO THE PUBLIC. I, for one, appreciate it.

Sam LaGrassa's is a Boston legend that's lost its way…read more As a local, I used to defend Sam LaGrassa's to anyone who called it a tourist gimmick. It was the gold standard for a real sandwich in the city. Sadly, the magic has faded. Between the soaring prices and the shrinking portions, the value just isn't there anymore. You can taste the "corner-cutting"--the flavors aren't as bold as they used to be, and the sandwiches feel noticeably smaller even though the cost has increased exponentially - I mean $30 for a sammy?! It should have gold in it! Even then, I'd keep coming once in awhile if the service was worth it. but honestly - the staff seems burnt out even bright early in the morning. It's hard to justify the premium price for a shadow of what this place used to be.

I ordered a chicken salad on a croissant with pickles, onions, and lettuce and it was really good. The best part is you can pretty much build whatever sandwich you want- breakfast or lunch. They've also got plenty of drinks, chips, and treats to choose from. Service is crazy fast too. They had my order ready in no time. There's a small bar setup with a few stools and a couple of tiny tables, so you can sit and eat quickly, but I wouldn't rely on getting a seat if it's busy or if you're with a group. My custom sandwich was $10, which felt reasonable. They've been around for 32 years, which says a lot. Definitely one of those local spots worth supporting. I'll 100% be back. Highly recommend.

I still can't believe that I only just found out about the place despite frequenting the downtown area and working close by for nearly a decade. They're quick counter service and serve a few simple items for breakfast and lunch, mostly sandwiches. So far I've had the pastrami egg sub and the yahoo sandwich. They're both good, but I'd have to say the yahoo is the winner so far as far as the sandwiches go. You can order online, which is a big plus for me and it's very easy to customize items through the online ordering portal. I also happen to really like their iced coffee, too. It's nice to see that there are still simple, no frills spots that execute good tasing food at a reasonable price, and Archie's is definitely one of those spots.

It's a pretty great sandwich, actually. I like the Boss, but there are many great options. There are just two things to keep in mind: 1) it's relatively expensive (though doable) 2) the sandwiches are quite rich and salty, often relying on a flavorful cream element (truffle cream, pistachio cream, etc.) As a result, I probably wouldn't go every day or even every week. I've eaten here before (it's a small area, but does have a lot of seating) but normally I get it as take out. The cafe itself is super casual, it's the perfect place to pop into during lunch or after a walk. My food is always ready on time which is nice, and when I've eaten there I'm usually able to find a seat. The spinach tortellini with the pesto cream sauce is my absolute favorite- it's a HUGE portion and so delicious. It usually lasts me at least 2 meals. The bread they include is also great! I like to dip it in the sauce. The past time I got Dino's I accidentally ordered spinach ravioli instead of tortellini...that was my bad. HOWEVER I think I might have found my new favorite? The raviolis are huge and so fat. I'm talking like 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch thick. There is so much stuffing and the spinach ricotta mix tastes so fresh and delicious...it's a must try. I've also gotten the eggplant parm before, and the fettuccini Alfredo. Both were also delicious. I've never had any of the sandwiches, but if they are anything like their pastas then I'm sure they are great! The bang for your buck here is also great which is nice. Highly recommend! Dinos is awesome! And the staff is very kind too (Note that the pic is taken from a train, I like to treat myself to Dino's before catching the Amtrak)
