Backstory to help explain the significance of the fact that I didn't get coffee with my meal here...I drink buckets a day...I must have coffee, as a necessity. The scrambled eggs were perfectly done, not runny or gooey like other places. The potatoes perfectly seasoned and slightly crunchy out and soft inside. The Banana bourbon French toast...Is the best breakfast food I've ever had and I eat out frequently. I literally scraped my plate clean. I would have done the same with my eggs, potatoes and Turkey sausage but I couldn't eat another bite. I wish we had a North Street Grille here but perhaps it's better that I not have easy access to the quality of food otherwise I'd need a new bigger size wardrobe. If in Boston this is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE. If we had room and weren't leaving town the same night we'd have bought the banana bread. They provide complementary for each table and it's one of the bestest most beautifully made banana breads I've had. Service was fast and friendly. I visited North Street Grille in the North End of Boston and overall had a really solid brunch experience. We ordered the French toast and the huevos rancheros. The French toast was absolutely outstanding!! Easily one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, rich, and flavorful, it's a must-order and alone makes this place worth visiting. The huevos rancheros were decent, but not quite at the same level. They felt a bit less authentic than expected, and the hot sauce option was limited to Tabasco. I think a more traditional, homemade Mexican-style salsa would have elevated the dish significantly and made it shine. Because of that, I'm giving North Street Grille 4 stars. The French toast is phenomenal, and with a little more attention to authenticity on certain savory dishes, this spot could easily be a 5-star brunch destination. I'd definitely come back! This place draws a very large crowd, and I was excited to finally try the food. I ordered the California omelet with home fries and a cinnamon roll pancake. The dishes were flavorful, but some of the flavors overpowered other components of the meal, so I would try different items next time. I also tasted the loaded potato omelet and the Chunky Monkey pancake. I thoroughly enjoyed both of those. The service was fast, but one downside was the number of gnats flying around the restaurant, which was off-putting and definitely affected my overall impression. We looked for a place to have a late breakfast before the days adventures and decided to get a reservation the day before to give them a try. The restaurant was busy but not crazy like during a weekend. We sat right away and everyone from the host to our server were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is small (as with most cities with small places) but we did not mind. As for food we ordered the scrambled and cheddar on a croissant, 2 eggs with turkey sausage, mixed greens (extra) and a pancake (extra), latte (they only have regular milk) and a regular coffee. Absolutely the best thing we've tried in Boston. Though the seats are limited and it's really crowded in there the food was amazing. The staff was amazing and so helpful. This was a top spot for breakfast on our recent adventure to Boston. A small, friendly (and immensely popular) spot in Little Italy, we decided to stop in on a Saturday morning. I highly recommend a reservation! We did not have one, but didn't mind waiting in line outside with other friendly folks. I will say that, at 7 months pregnant, it wasn't terribly uncomfortable, but if you're looking for privacy and elbow room, this is not the place to go. Almost as soon as we sat, one of the ladies behind the bar had hot coffee in front of us. Decaf took a bit longer, but I was happy to have a fresh cup. After we ordered, complimentary banana bread was also delivered. It wasn't my favorite, but hubby enjoyed it. Also related to pregnancy cravings - I could not decide what I wanted. I like that you can modify sides and orders (upcharge possible) so I could try an omelet and a blueberry pancake. Hubs got the cinnamon roll pancakes (without glaze) while I had the California omelet and a blueberry pancake. As far as the overall environment, the music was at an appropriate level for conversation, and the restaurant was clean with comfortable seating. For food, I had the two egg special with some substitutions. The poached eggs were absolutely perfect and practically melted in my mouth. My blueberry pancake, however, left something to be desired. The texture was slightly chewy and it lacked moisture. It's a nice touch, though, that they offer real maple syrup. I also tried one of the home fries. The cook on them perfect, and they came out crispy, but I personally found them underseasoned. Fixed with a bit of salt, but I would have liked a slightly more flavorful potato. I came here mainly for the lobster Benedict. This place is popular for sure. I got there around 9:53 on Sunday morning. There's a line outside to join the waitlist. They added me to the open table waitlist and said it about 1 hour and 15 min wait at around 10:06. Then we got a table around 10:35. They said they take reservation but people usually call 2-3 weeks ahead. Lobster Benedict is good, but can be better. The lobster is not that fresh but still tastes good. And I wish they add just a little bit more sauce. With tax and tips, it's about $42. Good to try once though as this menu is not commonly seen. The place is small with a few tables and bar area.
