Okay, but seriously, I visited BR for the first time the other day and I can't stop talking about how great my experience was. First of all, the place is cute as hell, plenty of seating and eclectic...I felt like Lorelei Gilmore drinking coffee there. It was midday on a Friday and the place was buzzing with people who seemed to be regular patrons, which is always a good sign. Being as busy as they were, though, there was still open seating and the customer service was exceptional. The girls behind the counter were all very nice and the one who rang us up was happy to answer questions about breakfast items, milk options and even where they source their beans from. The coffee itself was delicious. I believe their espresso is an Ethiopian blend which imparts a fruitier almost cherry like flavor profile to the coffee (similar to the espresso at Ceremony Coffee and different from more traditionally Carmel-y espresso found at Starbucks or Rise Up). I had a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin. I would've preferred it on a bagel but they'd run out The cashier apologized and offered me alternative bread options--no biggie, I understand that coffee shops have to order food and they're likely to run out after the morning rush, but it is something to note if you plan on coming here later in the day. Overall, great experience and I can't wait to go back--early in the AM to have a bagel sandwich lol. read more

The Bean Rush Cafe is a good spot for a quick bite and coffee. I especially enjoyed their specialty latte's but their coffee is nothing beyond average. Furthermore, their food is really nothing that one couldn't do better at their own home. The pricing at first glance is surprisingly cheap until you are served and you realize the portion is much smaller than the price should suggest. I've attracted a picture for reference. Overall a very nice and relaxing atmosphere, decent coffee, but much too offer beyond that. Fortunately, better options sit literally down the street and next door! read more

Bean Rush has added so much to our West Annapolis community. It offers a place to quickly pickup a coffee or sandwich, but also somewhere to get together with friends and neighbors. The coffee is tasty, try the Artisan blend! The staff is personable and remembers orders for all the regulars. The food selection is good, including allergy-friendly options and a high sensitivity to those with celiac disease. Great place to do work or catch up with a friend for a coffee chat! read more

There's a lot to like at Bean Rush and that was evident when we stopped for lunch on a random Saturday. It's a small coffee shop that has quite the variety of food and drink options. I ordered a cappuccino frappe along with red pepper soup and a gluten free blueberry muffin. The cappuccino frappe was just ok: the ice and other ingredients weren't blended very well and I didn't care for the taste (not sweet enough), but I probably should have chosen a different flavor. The food did impress me. My red pepper soup was flavorful and fresh. They also had a carrot ginger soup that sounded good. They seem to always rotate a vegetarian/vegan option for soups. My gluten free muffin was quite tasty and is made by a local bakery. Their hours was a bit restrictive, closing at 4pm on Saturday even though the line was almost to the door at 3:30. They also didn't have self-serve water; you had to request it from the barista, which was a bit annoying. They did have a unique self-serve coffee refill station with an "on your honor" cash box. I happened upon this place one day when I was looking for something interesting for lunch, just wanted to go someplace new. It's not too far from work and I felt like having a nice coffee, so I popped over. First, the atmosphere is cool. It's open and there's a good amount of seating, fun local art on the walls, and generally just chill and nice in there. Second, they have a trivia question of the day and the first person to get it right each day gets a free coffee. How fun! And third, and of course most important, the coffees and food are creative and good. I have been back a couple of times and will go again. read more

Stopped in for breakfast - we got a couple of coffees and egg sandwiches and both were great. Reasonable prices, dog-friendly, good food, good coffee...what else is there to say? They also offer some tea options - there's a rack full of tea and tea accessories for those who aren't loving the beans. Will definitely be back and would recommend! read more

All I can say is WOW. From the time I walked into the door to the time I left I was so impressed with this establishment and the staff as well. The guy who helped me asked if I had ever been there before and I told him no. He then started explaining the menu and their drinks and kinda where they "came from" which was great for me because I'm a major coffee snob. I ordered 2 caramel lattes and a piece of banana bread (AMAZING). The drinks were perfect and the flavoring didn't overwhelm the coffee like some other coffee shops. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. It was full of people working on their computers and enjoying the morning together. Ahhhhh, just what I love to see! Being in the process of opening my own coffee shop it's wonderful to see good people running a great business. I will def be a regular customer :) read more

My #1 go-to for breakfast/lunch & coffee! I work around the corner and go to Bean Rush at least twice a week. Mark and his wife are two of the nicest people and go out of their way to make each customer feel special and appreciated (as do the other staff members). They have excellent soups for chilly days, great breakfast options and delicious sandwiches (the chicken salad on wheat is my favorite). I also love their coffee and seasonal drink specials - they make a mean PSL in the Fall and their caramel apple cider is to die for. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, definitely a great place for getting some work done, catching up with friends or just taking a break. read more

Good neighborhood place, overall. Plus - kind and helpful staff - friendly. Good bagel sandwiches, huge and hearty. Owner is a super cool person and a hard worker. Negative - bland "coffee water" coffee here is sadly, not flavorful. It's "institutional coffee" and quite weak tasting. Double negative - West Annapolis entitlement, people don't share seats when available or open up a seat (think airplane seating), think to replace the cream for the next person if it runs out, etc. Bottom line - while not on my avoid list, I do not seek it out. read more

2nd time coming here. Both hubby and I had breakfast sandwiches. He loves the coffee, says it's the best in the area. I had a vanilla chai tea latte with almond milk. It was nice and smooth with just the right amount of sweetness and spice. The lemon muffin had a delicate lemon flavor with a light drizzle of icing. We will definitely be coming again. On a side note, it has a nice ramp to make it easily handicap accessible and they have also put out dishes of water for our canine friends. read more

Adorable cafe. They had hay and pumpkins on their porch. I walked in and could smell the coffee(loved it). I ordered the spinach, tomato, egg white, and cheese on an English muffin. Pretty good! I also got a caramel latte. It was so pretty and it was very yummy. Service is also great. It was my first time there so I didn't know that you pick up at the end of the counter, so they brought it to me. I'll keep it in mind next time! I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area! It's weirdly placed in a residential area though? There are stores near it. Be careful where you park so you don't get towed. This reviews is for one thing and one thing only...the coffee. For a "coffee shop" I've come to expect having coffee that will knock my socks off. Their darkest of dark roast on the day I had it was mild and fruity and clear enough you could see thru it on the pour. I then tried an expresso, same thing, too thin and watery. Same for the Americano. I've had the Americano at their Crownsville location and it was spot on, not sure if there's a consistency issue occurring. They make great food and have a great staff, I just wish they had something for hardcore, dark coffee drinkers. read more

Just a quick review as I sit relaxing in this nice quiet little cafe. Service was super quick and very friendly. I chose the bagel with Lox and was fortunate enough to get it on a sesame bagel since they still had a few left. It arrived at my table shortly after ordering it. Open faced and complete with tomato, capers, red onion and the right amount of cream cheese. I didn't understand the lettuce, but I did have the choice of not including it on there. As people worked away on their electronic devices or read books, it felt very nice to sit and enjoy my food and cappuccino. The cappuccino was professionally prepared by the barista and could have been great if the beans themselves were more my style. I rarely give 5 stars so I am really quite happy and will be back. read more

The West Annapolis location is situated in a charming house within the shopping district. We chose to sit outside on the deck, where they have three tables. We were there pretty early (9 AM) and it was bustling with families coming in and out. The service was very friendly and efficient. I had the seasonal Cinna-Mocha Latte, which was made perfectly, and with a pretty foam pattern on the top. It wasn't too sweet, and the flavor was amazing. I also had the oatmeal with walnuts, brown sugar, and raisins, served in a pretty bowl, and it was exactly the right portion. My husband also enjoyed his bagel sandwich with egg white, spinach and cheese. This is a great neighborhood place to grab coffee and a light breakfast if you're in Annapolis. I have been here during the week, and this is generally a god place. Good atmosphere. Visited on Sunday morning and the weekend crew leaves much to be desired. First learn the difference between a cappuccino and a latte. We ordered the quiche and the bagel with lox. The quiche was good. Nothing to rave about but good. The bagel was a different story. I thought they had made mistake - each side had two slivers. I took it back up and asked if this was the normal portion and was told each serving gets 1.5 ounces. Eating vegan is so tough in Annapolis, but, this place actually has a daily vegan soup and a salad option. Bean Rush Cafe is the perfect place to relax and sit back, get a scrumptious meal, and do work if you need! It's located on a gorgeous little intersection and is handicap accessible. With vegan and vegetarian options, they aim to please. I got the Fresh Basil Egg Salad sandwich, which they were happy to give to me on toasted sourdough even though it traditionally comes on wheat or white bread. I also got my daily caffeine fix with the Seville Mocha, an orange and chocolate coffee magical treat!
