I come here fairly regularly and always get the Connecticut Roll. Whoever was working today around 3:45 made the most delicious lobster roll I've had in the 8 or so years I've been coming here. I have a serious love for lobster meat. Today I wanted a lobster grilled cheese. The sandwich was good. I also purchased a shrimp Salad Sandwich. That was pretty disappointing. Lot's of mayo with very little celery. It was also lacking flavor. I wouldn't order that again. I was satisfied with the lobster grilled cheese on texas toast. Very good with the right amount of lobster. This was all ordered online and pre-paid. Parking could be a challenge. Luckily we came on a Sunday so it was less of a crowd. Found a spot to quickly pull behind just to pick up the food. Annapolis is a busy area. Especially on a Friday or Saturday. Just make sure if you order to go. That you pre-check your order. They were missing my chips but corrected the order immediately. So 3.5 for this visit and definitely would return for my lobster grilled cheese or the Connecticut Lobster Roll. read more

Mason's is a casual and comfortable eatery with both table seating and a bar by the window. You order at the counter and can request either dine-in or take-out. Counter service was fine. In addition to the lobster rolls there's several sides available. Complementary self-serve water is available. I like that the restaurant staff carefully prepares your order, not just slapping things together, even though that takes a bit of time. I ordered the Classical Lobster Roll. It was perfection and so delish. Served in a tasty lightly toasted and buttered bun. The hefty lobster serving comes with a dash of mayo. I'll be back again and again for Mason's lobster rolls. Being in Annapolis and known for seafood I just had to have a lobster roll and Masons seemed like a great choice! Once inside they had a simple menu and served lobster rolls as well as various other menu choices. I was surprised to see that there were four different ways to choose from for how your lobster roll is prepared. After exploring the four choices I went with the Connecticut roll and that was due to the fact it was served warm as opposed to a cold lobster roll. I ordered the combo which came with a drink and a side, of which I got cape cod chips to complement the roll. It was quickly prepared and surprisingly very affordable. The whole combo came to $25 not including tax which wasn't bad compared to how much I have spent for lobster rolls in the past. The flavor was incredible! It was nice and buttery but didn't overpower the lobster taste. The pickle and bread complemented the lobster very well. So did the cape cod chips. I was surprised by how delicious it was and I was filled with it as well. Stopped in here while on a stroll through town on our way to the waterfront. Street parking is hit or miss depending on timing of visit and is metered paid parking. Restaurant is located on the street level near the front of the large building, which contains multiple shops. Lobster roll preparation is done in front of the patrons in quick fashion and is hot and delicious. Loaded with claw and chunk lobster meat on a soft split bun. It was near the end of the business day, so the place appeared a bit unkempt and trash cans were full. I felt like my lobster roll was pretty mid, not what I want to think when I spend 25 bucks. I am used to the lobster filling Being more than what I felt like was just lobster. You come in here knowing you are going to overpay for a small amount of food and then be hit by the auto tip calculated with 22% as the lowest option for counter service unskilled labor. LOL! Okay, the lobster roll was fine. I got the Connecticut. I know lobster rolls are overpriced and small so it met expectations. Meat was bland. Expected it to be sweeter. I added salt which helped. Lobster bisque was a big disappointment. In the pictures of the cups and bowls they at least put some meat on top. This had no discernible meat in it. Just buttery cream with some paprika added for color and teeny tiny shreds of some type of meat. Really not worth the price even as a $3 add-on to your meal. You are just drinking hot cream with butter. They also offer a Maine option for $25 which adds lobster tail on top. I love shellfish and lobster but won't return. For $25 you can get a great LOCAL CRAB CAKE platter at a dozen places in town, one of the best being right across the street at Chick & Ruth. Spend your money on something unique to this town. BUT if lobster rolls are your thing... get one. I'm sure it's pretty authentic to what you're looking for. Next to this is a vacant ice cream store... Wow, this is the peak of what lobster rolls can and should be. Every lobster roll spots need to offer their rolls with the tail. Nicely cooked and adds that extra luxury to the roll. Downtown Annapolis is full of great spots. Mason's is up there. The menu is pretty simple and straightforward. I get the CT Lobster Roll as I prefer butter based. Always great. The buttery, chilled lobster with the warm toasted bun is always a good combo. I tried the Lobster Bisque this time and was not impressed. Had no lobster meat and it was very watery. We ordered The Bar Harbor (50% more lobster for only an additional $5.00) and the Lobster Salad on fresh greens. The roll was amazing and came with a full tail, in addition to the regular roll meat. The fresh greens on the salad were truly fresh and crisp, and the amount of lobster meat was more than satisfying. Given the cost of lobster these days, the price was very reasonable ($20-$25 each), especially in downtown Annapolis. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Really outstanding lobster rolls! I've only had the Connecticut roll - the warm and super buttery one. It's so yummy and one of the best lobster rolls I've had. I love the buttery, toasted bread they use and the lobster itself is really fresh and juicy. I've also tried the lobster mac and cheese which wasn't my favorite, but I can totally admit that I am very picky about mac and cheese. I do look forward to trying more stuff on their menu. Also, I've been about 3 times to different locations and have always had a really good experience with customer service. The vibe is very casual, which I also like. Stopped here on my trip to Annapolis on the first day when we were STARVING. Many people had recommended coming here and it was really good! I got the classic roll which was really good. Large chunks of lobster , decent price - I think around $20+. The restaurant only has a few tables and not a super extensive menu. The lobster I believe is all from Maine. I would be interested in trying out other menu items, since there are several ways lobster is offered. We also got drinks from the cooler - no fountain. Do you know how hard it is to find a good lobster roll?! Let alone a GREAT lobster roll!? I was so pleased to take the trip to Annapolis to Masons and it was worth it. First let's start with the lobster bisque and mac and cheese. Both were tasty (the mac and cheese could've had just a tad bit more salt, but otherwise it was good) and satisfied both my pallet and tummy. Now on to the main event, the lobster roll. The roll is about the palm of your hand so I ordered two, one classic (served cold) and one Connecticut (served warmed), both were delicious. OMG the delicious lobster meat and warm butter bread . Typically when you order a lobster roll south of Massachusetts you get frozen lobster meat that taste chewy and wet, but the meat here tasted fresh and flavorful. This is the "in place" to get a lobster sandwich however I was a bit disappointed. There was abundant lobster on the warm buttered roll, but no flavor other than the sweet, mild lobster taste. I would prefer the Connecticut Roll which had a lemon buttery sauce to add to the flavor. read more

The family raved about this spot and they weren't wrong. I loved the Connecticut roll filled with with fresh warm lobster and topped with the perfect amount of butter. The bread was delicious and the portion size was decent. The Classic Roll which is served chilled was also a favorite. We ordered the extra lobster tail to top the roll and it was delicious! The complimentary pickles were a good addition to the rolls as well. Compared to other lobster rolls ordered, I found these rolls to be reasonably priced. There is outdoor seating available, but they're primarily in the sun. You can also sit inside, two bar stools available with a view out the front window and a table for four in the center. The staff was friendly and we appreciated how accommodating they were. This spot is a great place to try for a quick bite to eat before your tour of the city. Looking for a solid lobster roll (imported from Maine), then this is a great spot. I have the Connecticut (warm) roll. The roll is toasted with butter, yum, the meat is in large pieces, super fresh and buttery too. My family had the traditional lobster roll (chilled) and everyone finished theirs and really enjoyed it. We share a lobster bisque, this pretty good but nothing to rave about. If you're craving a soup on a chilly day, it's a nice option then.
