I scheduled at my convenience, leaving a long period between my 4th and 5th sessions. Ida diagnosed my puppy son with dominance, very rare at that early of an age. I had diagnosed him with asshole, and it seemed I was right. She taught me how to show him I was the boss and get him in line. She also taught him all the important commands and gave me homework to strengthen those commands between lessons. She truly got into my dog's head and turned him into a wonderful companion. He is now 8 months old and my best friend. I still call Ida here and there for other problems I have like housekeeping or barking. She suggested a bell he could ring to tell me when he needs to go out and now he uses it every time. I have suggested several friends use Ida. She is a miracle worker.

She'd been struggling with some anxiety and pulled so badly on her leash that I actually got a stress fracture in my foot from walking her! I knew we needed help, especially as Hollie grew bigger and stronger, and I'm so glad we found Argos. After six sessions with Martin, her confidence has increased tremendously, and her anxiety is significantly less in almost all situations. I was looking for a positive reinforcement trainer, and Martin's methods are balanced and realistic. Hollie would get so excited to get in the car to go play with her new friend! She took to all of the instruction really well - walking her now is a LOT of fun. Most importantly, Martin worked to train *me*! I'll admit I didn't catch on as quickly as Hollie did, but I'm working on it, and she's very patient with me. ;) I feel like I have the tools and understanding now to continue working with Hollie in my own, in a variety of situations, and that's ultimately what I was hoping to come away with. I had called a number of grooming companies, none offered this type of system, all were on really busy streets. In addition, your pup is usually groomed in less than 3 hours. Brenda, the groomer, is phenomenal. She grooms to match the breed and will match to any specific instructions. Mine are always to shave the beard typical on the breed, I simply do not like it, Brenda shaves the beard. The service is outstanding.

After watching our friend communicate with his dog using an e-collar, we decided to sign up for off-leash e-collar training with the Good Hound. We worked with Shannon and Siobhan and now feel fully prepared, confident and so, so proud of our pup who we can let off the leash at any time. The Good Hound was the best investment we could have made with our dog for many reasons: 1) They take the dogs out for hikes - giving them a bunch of exercise during the work day and a lot of opportunities to socialize with other dogs. 2) They spend time 1:1 with your dog to get a solid grasp of what they are capable of. In our case, they learned he was not a "working dog"; in other words, he tends to be very lazy and extremely stubborn. 3) They work with you, on what YOU need to practice with the e-collar and on communication with your dog. 4) The trainers LITERALLY go the extra mile. Shannon was so patient and sincere with us; even when we were discouraged by the lack of progress. He even asked if he could take our dog for another trek to further assess his response to recall, and came back with more insight, techniques for us, and a thorough follow-up plan.

Not to mention the passive aggressive comment they made when I was picking him up, asking if "he let me brush him at home". Daycare was not his favorite thing but I kept having him attend, once a week to build his socialization and have an outlet without me. After going to daycare once a week for months, he finally had a switch flip and absolutely LOVES daycare. He knows on Tuesday mornings he has to get ready early and spends the entire drive there with his tail wagging excitedly. This once very anxious and unsure pup now looks forward to playing and "going to school". He is always worn out and sleeps for like 2 days straight after attending. Tubbs also has a lot of allergies and needs special attention to those medical things. They make sure he never comes even near any of his allergies and i fully trust he is getting great care. Whenever we do an overnight stay, they make sure he takes all his meds, update me on his visit and has lots of fun playing. We love the pooped pooch and are totally of the belief that everyone should be going to doggy daycare - especially them if you live in the dorchester area!!
