Can't say enough good things about the Pooped Pooch! We came to them right after I adopted my dog, Tubbs, and he was a nervous mess with no training and a million other problems. Daycare was not his favorite thing but I kept having him attend, once a week to build his socialization and have an outlet without me. After going to daycare once a week for months, he finally had a switch flip and absolutely LOVES daycare. He knows on Tuesday mornings he has to get ready early and spends the entire drive there with his tail wagging excitedly. This once very anxious and unsure pup now looks forward to playing and "going to school". He is always worn out and sleeps for like 2 days straight after attending. Tubbs also has a lot of allergies and needs special attention to those medical things. They make sure he never comes even near any of his allergies and i fully trust he is getting great care. Whenever we do an overnight stay, they make sure he takes all his meds, update me on his visit and has lots of fun playing. We love the pooped pooch and are totally of the belief that everyone should be going to doggy daycare - especially them if you live in the dorchester area!! read more

Let me start by saying this is a five star review unless you have a fish. Hello, welcome to my review of the Popped Pouch. You will think this should be a one star review if you only had a fish, but you will not think it is a one star EXPERIENCE. It's a four Star experience plus one star if you have a cat or dog. This brings it to the fifth star. The Poop Porch has everything you'd dream of if you have dogful/catful fishless inside living. It's small but packed with canine and feline marineless necessities. Cool treats and quirky fun toys for pets as long as they are cats or dogs. They have one employee and sometimes that employee changes but the previous one comes back the next day and the newer one leaves until the first one is done with Jury Duty or whatever. They don't sell any fish food, or it might be in the back or something, just ask the employee if it's the first guy, he might say "no" though. I'm sure he says it in a nice way with a little animal pun joke. read more

BRING YOUR PUPS HERE - I LOVE THIS PLACE. I was a new puppy parent, super overwhelmed and stressed out with my tiny dog. I had no clue what I was doing with her. The Pooped Pooch playground was recommended to me and I am forever grateful for it. My pup Winnie loves this place so much, she seems to pout when we don't bring her. The team is so friendly and loving, they seem to remember every dogs name and parents face. The online booking portal is so easy and you can communicate through a conversation portal. They are super responsive and if there is anything they need immediately, they will just call. I have been in a pitch and don't make arrangements for Winnie, but they always been to squeeze her in. NOW, for the best part... they do drop off and pick up. We are super busy and sometimes we double/triple book our days. The team will pick Winnie up and then drop her back off after daycare. They come in the house and take her in and out of her crate. GAME CHANGER for us. Takes all the stress of getting her out of it. They were even accommodating for Winnie's sister who was visiting and let her come to daycare with her for the day & boarded her for a weekend while we were away. Love the pooped pooch! My 1 year old puppy stayed there overnight this past weekend. It was his first time staying somewhere other than a family members house, so needless to say I was nervous. We took him in for the evaluation and I was immediately comfortable. The workers were SO friendly, and he was having the time of his life playing with them and the other dogs! They updated me with photos and told me how he was doing. It made me feel so comfortable. In every photo my dog looks so happy and playing with the other dogs. Definitely recommend, I will be using them every time we go out of town! read more

Mark and Mark have been taking my dog, Lexi for walks since they opened. And Lexi enjoys going to playgroup, with a pick up and drop off service, which is great for me as I work 7-7. They are always willing and available to fit her in if needed. I also get all my pet supplies and food at their store and if they don't have it stock they'll order it! Prices are comparable. When my cat got diagnosed with diabetes Mark gave me as one great suggestions and some recourses. Definitely a great pkace read more

The team at The Pooped Pooch is top notch. The Mark's have a great service in Southie where they pick up your dog for the morning for a supervised playgroup. Our dog is a border collie-lab mix- she loves her new friends at playgroup and comes home happy and tired! We also noticed that she is way more sociable (i.e. doesn't lose her mind) with other dogs in the area. Their dog walking service is also very flexible as well. The Mark's are legit dog experts. They have a wealth of knowledge of which food and toy producers are good/safe, and which aren't, have been great to consult with on what products to get, and which to avoid. They have an awesome store, and will even drop off new bags of dog food if they are picking up your pooch for playgroup! Fantastic service and store, couldn't recommend them enough if you live in the south Boston area. read more

My dog, Gus, has been going to The Pooped Pooch's playgroup a couple times a week for the past year and a half. I know he can sometimes be a handful, and is definitely full of energy. But when I come home on days that they've taken him to the park, he's exhausted. He must have a wonderful time, because the one time I was home to watch Mark pick him up, he bounded to the door with a huge smile the moment he heard the van drive up. They have primal raw frozen food, which is a great company from near me in California. Their prices are the same as on the west coast, which is great to see. The Marks are great. I moved to the area earlier this year, and the thing I was most sad about was leaving my former daycare. After much research we decided to give The Pooped Pooch's daily playgroup a whirl. What we found: The cost is affordable, they are reliable, I get notes about my dog, they never close, and most importantly my Chance loves them! Well flash forward a couple months, and our schedules changed, and with one of us at home during the day we decided to stop playgroup. Of course after I cancel though over the past couple months things have popped up where we need someone to let the dog out. When I email the Marks and ask for Chance to join playgroup during certain days, they always respond so quickly and are able to accommodate my requests. I normally never write reviews on Yelp, but I am moving out of Boston and had to make sure I left my praise for The Pooped Pooch. Having tried a number of dog walking services in Southie, I finally settled on The Pooped Pooch. They are hands down, without a doubt, the single best dog walking service I have ever used. Where to start? Mark always answers emails within the hour and normally answers within a few minutes. I use The Pooped Pooch for private walks, as my dog Bear is not great with other dogs. I have an abnormal schedule and use them occasionally on weekends and at odd times. I like to let them know a week in advance, but I have had last-minute requests as well. They have always accommodated Bear and I with enthusiasm. If I am gone for the weekend, Bear (and my apartment) are always exactly the way I left them. I feel 100% at ease knowing Mark, Mark, and John are taking care of Bear. Payments are done quickly and easily through PayPal. I cannot say enough about these guys. They are top-notch professionals and are head and shoulders above all of the other dog walking companies in Southie. read more

I'm a little biased because they're related to my beloved and much-missed Active Paws in Waltham but even if I didn't have this connection, I'd love Mark and Mark anyway for how great they are with my little munchkin. I was in a bit of a bind, needing someone to watch my dog in my brand new neighborhood two days after moving in. Follow up: We no longer live in Boston and live in Austin, TX. When our dog began having a seizure and it was his first ever, my wife called our Vet and couldn't get a hold of anyone. She called Mark and Mark called back and talked Toni through and calmed her down. Mark explained to us that it happens and knowing what to do is just as important than what is going on. Mark was a source of comfort and a knowledge base that helped us out even when we haven't seen him in about 2 years and we appreciate it immensely. Mark and Mark, Where do I begin but to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! After having a few awful experiences with dog walkers, a friend suggested we try The Pooped Pooch. I have a vizsla who needs quite a lot of exercise, and a cockapoo. They both go to playgroup anywhere from 2-5 days a week, and come back pooped! Mark and Mark are flexible with their schedules, and always accomodating. My vizsla has separation anxiety and they arranged their drop off and pick up so she spends the least amount of time home alone. Our walker has even gone so far as to take my two dogs out to dog park to pee and play one last time before they go home. He even gives good tips and recommends the best treats, chews, and even shampoo for my little pup! They have all different kinds of the best dry, wet, raw, frozen dog food. They sell all different kinds of chew toys, treats, toys, Harnesses leashes and even some clothing. They have a variety of grooming supplies. Pretty much anything you need for ur dog and it's local! The Pooped Pooch is fantastic! It's such a relief to have such a reliable pet sitting team for our cat, Pretzel. Their website and app is great to use to schedule visits, pay invoices, and (most importantly) see the amazing picture updates after the team visits Pretzel! They keep us updated on how he is doing and enjoying his staycation. This recent New Years Eve (while out of the country), Pretzel decided to not eat for 48 hours (cats will be cats). The Pooped Pooch team kept us updated from his first missed meal. On the second day, they let us know they think it might be time for a visit to Angell Medical Center. We absolutely agreed with their abundance of caution approach. The team spent their New Years Eve getting Pretzel into a crate (getting an 18lb bengal into a crate is no easy job!) and making sure Pretzel got checked in at the waiting room. The entire time they kept us updated on his progress until the staff at Angell could give us a call. I cannot tell you what an incredible relief it was to have a team who were caring for Pretzel during his hunger strike while we were out of the country. When we picked up Pretzel from Angell, the front desk staff were singing their praises for The Pooped Pooch! They noted how rare it is for a pet sitter to happily wait for the pet to get fully checked in, and not ask to leave after handing the crate over. Pretzel has been seen from multiple (all amazing) members of The Pooped Pooch team for over three years. We brought our 4 year old Italian Greyhound/Terrior mix ,Penny, to the Pooped Pooch Playhouse for four months while living in Dorchester (before we moved out of the area) and were so glad we found it. Penny was excited to arrive every day, practically dragging us in the door, and loved every staff member. It was also convenient to have them drop her off after work a few nights we knew we were going to be late or had plans. We could tell Penny had fun, active days as she was definitely "pooped" every night after spending the day there. This place is awesome!! I recently adopted a 1 year old black lab and he was horrible on the leash. I practically ran in the store so overwhelmed with him because I couldn't take the pulling anymore! I had brought my easy walk harness with me to see if they could help me figure out how to put it on as it seemed like a Rubik's cube..well Mark helped me figure out it was a little to big and he exchanged it for a smaller size and helped me put it on! The Pooped Pooch Playhouse is the absolute best! We recently moved to South Boston from a different part of the city. We had an amazing doggy daycare at our old place, but it was just a bit too far for the logistics to work. We were sad to have to change, and were worried that we would not be able to find any place else nearly as great. To our luck, after looking into nearly all of the doggy daycares in the South End/South Boston/Dorchester area, we came across The Pooped Pooch Playhouse. Nick and Mark are exceptional. They take the best care of our dog. She is always ecstatic when they pick her up and she is totally pooped at night when she is dropped off. We have been customers of The Pooped Pooch for over a year, since we got our Boston terrier. They are simply the best pet sitters anyone could ask for. We travel quite a bit and have always been able to have our guy stay with Mark and Mark. They are so helpful and accommodate many travel hours (with notice, of course!). We had one incident where I only gave them two days notice and they were still able to help us out. They have also been available to discuss behavioral and dietary issues, even going so far as to do a test run with a raw diet for us. Our little guy always comes home happy and sleepy. I cannot say enough good things about the Pooped Pooch and their entire team (especially Mark, Mark and John!). They have been taking care of our dog since he was a puppy, first with puppy walks twice a day and now a nice mix of walks and play group. Play group has been a total game changer for our energetic Boston Terrier. With 2 full time jobs we just didn't have the time to get him enough exercise during the week and he was becoming a bit of a handful at night... enter puppy play group. He gets 3 full hours of play with dogs his own size 2x a week and could not be more happily exhausted at the end of the day. It has helped calm him down in a big way and made everyone much happier! They are super flexible and reasonable when it comes to schedule changes and are prompt to reply to all communications (and ready with thoughtful advice whenever needed). They also make sure we run a tight ship, spotting raw hide and dog dangers in the house a mile away. I totally credit the Pooped Pooch for the amazing, spectacular dog we have today (I am of course in no way biased :-)). We could not do it without them! read more
