We had been with adAstra since our (now) 8 year old airedale was only a handful of months old. Carly and her team are the BEST. We only have great things to say about the level of care both our dogs received - and our two dogs were high energy and mischievous! Carly and her team were like an extended part of our family - not only coming by every day for walks, but also giving us encouraging training tips and giving us really great diet and overall care recommendations. We have since relocated, and were so incredibly sad to have to say goodbye. HORRIBLE-DRAMA FILLED - DO NOT USE! Let me start off by saying I am posting this on the adAstra site as well but they delete any bad comments people write. So...keep that in mind when choosing this company. I also added a comment to the companies Facebook page, they removed. What does it say about a company that doesn't supply the bad with the good. Trustworthy? I would say no. I wouldn't trust my pet with them. Please know that I am a dog owner and only voice my review on here to warn others. This review does not affect me in anyway. You'll read in Carly's message that she has never had a bad review...how would you know...they remove all negative messages where they can. Also, I have blocked her as I just received ANOTHER harassment message. It's a shame that I have to write a bad review about a dog walker. Dog walkers are supposed to be loving and caring. I mean we allow them to take care of our most prized possessions...our pets. When I first contracted with adAstra East three years ago, the dog walker assigned to my puppy was April. April was wonderful with my Barkley and he loved hearing that she was coming to play with him each day .I didn't communicate much with Carly (owner) as April was my primary walker. About nine months ago April decided to open her own business and leave adAstra. I thought it was wonderful, two dog walking companies that I could count on to take care of my dog. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. Carly and April were great friends while April worked for her. In fact, April was in Carly's wedding. Unfortunately, as friends sometimes do, they had a falling out. Carly has been having an awful time with this as she has done nothing but harass me, her client, since April left. Since April was Barkley's primary walker I stayed in touch and had April walk Barkley a few times after she left adAstra. Barkley doesn't live with me full time since I travel a lot for work. The harassment from Carly first started when she saw my dogs picture on April's website. I received numerous text messages from Carly asking me why April was walking my dog followed by more text dragging April's name though the mud about what an awful person she was. I am a business woman and don't have time to deal with petty girlfriend fall-outs while working. This didn't phase Carly. I continued to receive text messages begging me to walk Barkley and not to let April walk him. In my opinion, it's none of Carly's business who walks my dog. Today, the harassment text stated again. Barkley is back in town for a couple of weeks and since I had surgery last week, I didn't line up a walker for Barkley. April contacted me as she knew he was back in town and asked if she could walk him this week. Of course I said yes. I received a text from Carly this week asking if she could walk Barkley. I am traveling over the next couple of months so haven't had time to pin down a schedule for my dog. I hadn't had a chance to respond to Carly which is why the harassment text started. Today while April was walking Barkley, I received a text from Carly "I see April is walking Barkley. I don't appreciate being lied to. I will not walk Barkley anymore." These are my dog walkers!! I was very angry that Carly again brought me into her personal drama. The text continued until I asked Carly how I lied to her and she couldn't answer that question. I did let Carly know that her un-professionalism disappointed me and she responded with .... I don't care, I have over 100+ dogs and don't need yours. So please know that although I met a great dog walker and companion for my pet through adAstra the company and drama you receive from the ownership is not worth the hassle. read more

Since finding adAstra a few months ago when we moved to Quincy, we've been so pleased with how Carly and her team have treated our fur-child, Brady. We've had a lot of dog walkers over the past few years due to various moves, but this is by far our favorite. Prompt, courteous, professional, flexible - all the things you'd hope for and expect - but they also take the time to go above and beyond. From texting us when he's walked (so we can plan our evening schedules accordingly) or sending the occasional picture of Brady, it's these special touches that put them at the top. A great alternative to the kennel. Carly will come to your house and stay overnight(feed and medicate if needed) with your dog while you're away. A great service combined with a daily walk will give you peace of mind while you're on vacation or away for business. Keep your best friend comfortable at his home base. Carly and her team are wonderful! We have used Ad-Astra since we got our dog in 2012. Our dog needed a little extra training (being an energetic Lab) but we have seen such a BIG improvement, all because of Carly and Nicole. They took the time to work with him and we are so thankful! Carly is very flexible when it comes to scheduling. We also love seeing videos and pictures on the Facebook page every week. We are moving to the Plymouth area in the next month and are very sad to leave Ad-Astra. We wish we can take Carly with us! We have been using AdAstra to walk our pup for the past 3 years, and they are excellent! Carly and her team are great with getting to know each dog's needs. We have a very energetic and playful 3.5 year old pittie, and AdAstra took the time to learn about his behaviors and we have never had an issue. We have walks 5 days/week, and have also used the sleepover service for weekends when we're traveling. AdAstra was even able to follow us when we moved. I would never recommend adASTRA to my worst enemy. I was in a bind with my dog and had nowhere to keep her, and Carly was recommended to me. I needed to kennel my dog for a few nights while I tried to figure out and make other arrangements for her, so I contacted Carly. Everything seemed on the up and up and she was friendly enough, so my boyfriend and I paid upfront for all the nights that my dog would be kept. After a day I got a call saying that my dog had been crying and barking while whoever was watching her left for work, and neighbors were complaining, and that my dog was being brought back to me immediately. I did not know that my dog was going to be left alone for hours at a time, which she was not used to, so I don't blame her for whining and crying. Mind you I wasn't home at the time and had no car, there were no pets allowed in my building as my landlords lives upstairs (so it's not like I could just sneak the dog in). I had to rush home and my dog, her crate and food were dropped on my doorstep. It was November and freezing out. I had absolutely nowhere to go with my dog and ended up having to walk her around in the freezing cold and sit on my back porch with her for 4 hours until my boyfriend got home so we could drive her around and try to find somewhere to take her. We couldn't find anywhere to take her, and so we had to wait until around midnight to return home so our landlords were asleep so we could sneak her in over night, hoping to God that she didn't make any noise or draw any attention. The next morning my boyfriend and I both had to miss work to take my dog to a kennel and pay even more money to keep her there. We contacted Carly several times about getting our money back for the extra days that we had paid for upfront and she refused to give the money back. Her contract is a pile of crap by the way and if I were you I would refuse to sign it. Just don't use her. She is an awful person. What kind of person refuses to give money back to people who pay for services that were never carried out when they didn't have the money to pay in the first place, and then get stuck paying more money elsewhere to kennel the dog. I have absolutely nothing good to say about Carly and adASTRA and really hope they go out of business because they are scam artists. read more

I was nervous about leaving my dog I usually have family take care of him but my whole family was going on vacation together. He's a 90 lb pitbull so a lot of people are intimidated by him(he is really a very gentle dog) I found Carly online spoke with her on the phone and she came over to meet us the next night. She was fantastic with him. I felt very comfortable with her also. I have to say she was awesome!!!! I will use her everytime I go on vacation. She stayed at my house kept in contact with me everyday with text messages and pictures! I don't even think my dog missed me! I would give her 10 stars + if I could!!!! You can't go wrong with Carly. Great dog walking and training company!!! Very reliable always showed up, left detailed notes on the visit/walk and as a bonus took the cutest pictures. When my pup was young Carly and company helped with the multiple puppy walks a day and Carly even stayed over when I went away. Carly and Nicole are excellent trainers they helped my dog (and me) with reactive/resource aggression training that really worked. I have been using adastra for two years to walk my lab Darcy and could not be happier. They are completely reliable and flexible - they have always been able to accomodate last minute schedule changes or requests and always respond quickly. Sleepovers/vacation care is great, and it is a huge relief to know Darcy is safe and well taken care of. I started using asAstra training and pet care since March 2014 and I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! Last summer I lost my dog Riley of 10 years very suddenly to cancer. It broke my heart but also broke the heart of her "puppy" Shane my other dog who had NEVER been without his mother. 3 weeks later I ended up in a very bizarre and unplanned way getting an 8 week old puggle puppy. The following months were quite challenging as I am a full time Nurse and work 12 hr shifts which are VERY long days for a puppy. I tried using dog walkers twice a day for 30 minute walks but Jack's energy was never ending and his housebreaking was proving difficult as he clearly wasn't getting enough exercise. My neighbor recommended adAstra to me and I quickly contacted them. They responded almost immediatley and after 1 day I was SOLD!!! For only 5 dollars more than what I was paying for 2 walks, I get 4 HOURS!!! of play time for my Puppy with other dogs and a 30 minute walk for BOTH my dogs!! They also PICK them up and DROP them off at my home! Jack,my puggle, is SOO happy!!! He sleeps GREAT at night! I also find his behavior has improved and he appears to be listening more. Also, I have gone away and had them PET SIT at my house on very short notice. I felt completley at ease for the first time during a vacation! I recieved text messages and photo's EVERYDAY from the individual who was caring for them. Other general things regarding the company is their payment is very easy as it can be done online, and even though they have scheduled office hours, If I have a question off hours I have contacted Carly by text or phone and ALWAYS get a response!!! I find all their walkers extremely professional and caring! A few times I have been at home when they have picked up my dogs and my puppy doesn't even look back at me as he bounds into Kristina, his primary walker's, car!!! Carly has been walking my dogs for over a year now. They love being with her. My Charley kisses her he is so happy. She is the only person he has kissed. If i'm not home she leaves me notes. She sends me pictures of my babies playing with the other dogs. Both of my dogs hadn't been with other dogs, through Carly's love and patience they are no longer afraid of other dogs. I frequently go away, Carly checks in on them during the day, even after walking them. I have come home to gind her on my bed playing and cuddling with them. I have never had a problem with her. I have called her in the morning to see if she can squeeze my babies in for a walk, most of the time she will. I was undergoing radiation for my second bout with breast cancer, she was at my house every day to not only walk my dogs but to also make sure I was alright. My daughter ws home at the time, but Carly still had to check on me and ,y babies. I trust her with my babies. I have had other walkers, but none of them have been as great as Carly. I'll admit it, I was nervous about getting a dog walker. One of my dogs is...uh...difficult. OK fine he can be a total jerk. Nicole and Carly have been amazing though and I've had no problems. Both my dogs love them and the feeling seems to be mutual. Nicole is my primary walker and double bonus-she is also a trainer and knows a ton of medical stuff. She is very attuned to the dogs' health and well being. She even ended up taking my dog to the vet for what turned out to be pancreatitis (my poor baby!) and waited there for the results, texting me updates. They send cute pics and texts during the day that are reassuring and ease the pain of missing my fuzzy buddies. They also check on my cats and any other creatures that happen to be squatting in my house. They are good to my pets and are kind people who volunteer their time and expertise for shelters/rescues as well. 5 stars for service and an extra, off-the-books personal star for just being good people. read more
