We were very satisfied with our one-night stay at Bear Creek Inn.
I generally avoid doors-open-to-the-parking-lot motels but I was only in town for one night, this one was close to where I needed to go, and I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg. I booked our room maybe two months ahead of time and had some Expedia points which made this one really economical but even if I'd had none at the time the room would have only cost me around $100 and it's worth that amount (rates fluctuate of course, but for around $100 you are getting a good deal is all I'm saying).
The babbling creek behind the motel is pretty great. It's super chill--super peaceful. Most rooms (including ours) have back balconies facing the stream and that was a really nice touch that sets this one apart from most economy motels.
The room was big, clean, basic. Nice newish beds that are very comfortable. The wall AC unit worked great, got our room to a wished for 65 degrees on a hot July night. The water is hot and the water pressure is stellar.
There's an in-room fridge, freezer, and microwave as well as a single cup coffee brewer.
Check in and out was efficient and staff were friendly.
I didn't hear any parking lot or neighborhood noise from inside our room, it was a very quiet sleep.
My only complaint--there's a weird distorted glass/plastic window in the bathroom. We tested optics--my wife stood in the bathroom with the light on and I went outside and looked in from the walkway. While her features were completely distorted and undefined I could totally see her form as she waved at me through the window. So, if someone's walking by while you're getting into the shower and they stop and look they won't see you clearly but they will see a blurry nude figure (kind of like a TV censored nude scene). So folks, just put up a cheap curtain rod and curtain and you're super solid! read more
