Cozy rooms! Will be our go to when fishing the Henry's fork, and love that they are dog friendly

It's dynamite! We came up for our anniversary and was pleasantly surprised to find they had a king suite become available. The place is rustic but modern. The smell in the air of the pine and forest are worth every penny. Each room has a private deck with table and chairs overlooking the forest behind the lodge. Inside the main lodge is beautiful and clean, with a pool table and games upstairs. They also have cabins for rent and an entire house for larger groups. The cost is better than the hotels in town, and for the privacy and quiet, this is the only experience worth paying for. But if you need something, town is only a couple minutes drive. My sweety and I spent our evenings during by the pond, listening to the fountain and looking at the stars. The people here have been incredibly polite, friendly, and as helpful as you could ask for. I understand that ownership has changed hands in recent months, so don't give any heed or negative reviews. These people are not the same. Fantastic place! We HIGHLY recommend staying here. Do not stay here. Although they will take your money they are closed. I was told to unlock a gate to enter. They need to decide if they are open or not. I reserved a room on Booking.com yet when I arrived no one was here and the gate was locked. They refused to give me my money back ! read more

My husband and I got married here in August, bear creek lodge was AMAZING!!! Not only is the grounds stunning, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the owners are wonderful people. Planning a wedding at bear creek was surprisingly easy despite the fact that i live all the way across the country. Kasey answered all my emails very quickly, and set up for the wedding was a breeze. I had anticipated set up to take the majority of the day on Friday for our Saturday wedding but Bear Creek Lodge had most of the set up done leaving more time to spend with friends and family! Bear creek Lodge is an amazing spot! Cozy family run lodge, very welcoming and friendly staff. We are a big group of snowmobilers and like to ride out if this area so we always stay at Bear Creek. Trina is very nice and her staff goes out of their way to make your stay nice. One day I stayed back from the ride, and they set me up with movies & a blanket & let me cozy up inside for day of movies & wine! Perfection! Thank you Bear Creek! read more

My friends wedding was here. The grounds are stunning. The reception/dinning area was nice. There is a nice fireplace and bar. The rooms were a little small. Some of the guests had problem with heating and it was very cold at night. The rooms have no TV, but the scenery outside gives you plenty to do. If you are going to stay here I recommend renting the house that is on the property. It is great. Beautiful house with a stunning view and fireplace. Full kitchen. They also have a hot tub right out the dinning room on the beautiful wood deck. read more

We went to Bear Creek Lodge in McCall for a New Years Eve getaway and it was fantastic. We had only planned on staying for one night but enjoyed ourselves so much we booked another. It is only 15 minutes to Brundage and 5 to McCall. The property could not have been more dramatic as we were surrounded by the forest, feeling like the middle of nowhere. There are 8 Lodge rooms. The last review was correct in that they are on the small side. But the ceilings are quite high, and the decor is warm and cozy to make up for it. They do have four cabin rooms that are bigger, and we plan to stay in those next time we go. If all cabin rooms were booked, we would easily settle for the lodge rooms just because of the great experience. There also is one suite and a large house with three bedrooms that are available. All rooms have a small fridge, microwave, and decent flat screens with DVD players. You can go into the main lodge and they have quite the movie library to choose from. The hot tub is very near both the cabin and lodge rooms at a nice 104 degrees. This place is more than pet friendly. They were ok with our dogs wandering around the main complex while we played pool upstairs, and slammed domino's by the fire. The bar is stocked full with good dark and light beers. The wine selection was surprisingly versatile as well. The owners went over and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable . The complimentry breakfast was quite good and includes make your own waffles, home made muffins, bagels and many types of cereals to choose from. If you are looking for a hotel in McCall that treats you like family, come to Bear Creek. read more

It is under new ownership and clearly the new owner wants to charge for all kinds of hidden charges. Shocked to get my receipt. I was charged $15 for a Continental Breakfast. Very Upset. We also could not use the spa after dark because it disturbed a "resident" in a room right next to the guest's jacuzzi. To be honest, the room was not of high standards. I cringed to take my shoes off inside Be careful when you sit on the bed, there is no box springs. The pillows have ZERO support. BAD EXPERIENCE. If you have to stay there because nothing else open for ski season, bring your own pillow, sheets, and flip flops in shower. AND check your receipt!!!!! Also THERE IS NO TV SERVICE!!!!!!!!! Lodges Internet speed was below 2Mbs....I ended up using my own ATT personal HotSpot from my cellphone. read more

Private, Quaint very friendly and welcoming. My wife and I were there on our Anniversary on April 26th. Stayed in one of the cabins and truly had a great time. The moment we showed up we conversed with a couple that have been coming there for the past couple of years and have been trilled with it. Mike the owner was totally down to earth and kind. This is a marvelous place with Lodge rooms, Cabins and a large family Cabin...just a short jaunt to town, back off the main road. Continental breakfast at the lodge... great for groups...we stopped by on our way back from 5 week motorcycle trip thru Alaska and Canada and stayed at lots of different places along the way...this was really a treat! read more

Hospitality AND Chef Sean!! Just spent a memorable and relaxing weekend here. Reception and check-in was swift. Cabin #4 was immaculately clean and complete with a super comfy bead, jetted tub, fireplace and flat screen tv/dvr and frig. The private deck overlooks a pristine and calming meadow. Watching the hawks soar and hunt was fascinating! Dinner on the deck of the restaurant was awesome. Chef Sean (Yes, a professionally trained food artist in McCall!) prepared a multi-course meal complete with batter-dipped prawns for an appetizer followed by his fresh organic greens salad with a thinly sliced green apple, walnuts and gorgonzola. The main course was a stuffed prawn and scallop atop a perfectly seasoned and roasted prime rib. Unreal flavor and original thought in a remote lodge. Desert was berry parfait with fresh blueberries and strawberries and freshly whipped crem on top. Our server sue is attentive and really carfes about her clientele having a great time...thanks Sue! The hot tub is a perfect touch prior to retiring for the evening. The horseshoe and bocci ball pits ouside your door make activities easy. Highly recommend this place for your getaway/hideaway or just a fine meal! read more

We stopped by to check out the lodge that came highly recommended while out on the snowmobile trail talking to other people who had stayed there. The staff member was so nice and willing to take us on a full tour even though she was getting all the rooms ready for Winter Carnival. I believe her name was Dawn, if so, thanks DAWN! After seeing what was available we will definitely plan our next McCall snowmobile trip at this lodge! read more

We booked the lodge for our wedding at the end of June 2018. I am writing this review to provide information for groups/couples that are considering the lodge for similar events. The pros: -Lodge is in a beautiful, secluded setting -Rooms, cabin, and lodge are clean and well-maintained -McCall is a great place to have a wedding, especially if you have a lot of out-of-town guests looking for fun things to do The cons: Our experience with the owners and ever-changing management made the planning process and wedding stressful and unpredictable. During the 8 month period between booking the lodge and our wedding, we had to work with 3 separate managers. We now realize the owners and management were never on the same page, as we were promised different things by each manager that were then disputed by the owners. As one example, we were told by each manager we spoke with that it was no big deal for some of our guests to camp on the grounds for free (as part of the wedding package, you have exclusive use of the lodge for 3 days and 2 nights). When I asked for our cleaning deposit back after the wedding, the owners attempted to charge me an additional $400 for all of the camping families and claimed that I had never mentioned that some of our guests would be camping. For me, one of the most disappointing aspects of our experience was that the owner, who was on-site the weekend of our wedding, never came up to me, my husband, or our parents to shake our hands, introduce himself, or thank us for investing $10,000 + in his business. When I voiced some concerns after the wedding, I was met with hostility and basically called a liar. The only thing that saved the wedding for me was the beautiful setting and the love of our friends and family who came to celebrate with us. Think twice before investing your time, money, and emotional capital with this business. read more

Amazing peaceful grounds and warm hospitality with a creek running through it. Our cabin was very clean and private. Dog friendly, people friendly. The caretakers are among the finest and most accommodating people that we've met. We will definitely plan to come back here whenever staying in McCall. They have a large DVD library, Bocci ball, large outdoor fire pit with chairs, outdoor and indoor tubs surrounded by beautiful trees. Tim is designing a miniature golf course on the property. Hiking and snowmobiling directly from the 65 acre property. Sunsets were majestic. And the food at the lodge, well they packed the house. We got there just after brunch, but were invited to help ourselves to any beverage. My wife also got some chocolate mouse, prepared with great flavor and consistency. This is an all-season complex only 10-12 minutes from town with many activities nearby for individuals and families. We stayed only two days, but it felt like we rested so much longer than that. read more

We stayed there on Mon, 2/16/15, for a late Valentines romantic getaway. Our suite was fabulous and our king size bed was like sleeping on a cloud! The staff was delightful and informative. We loved the lodge so much, we made our reservation for next year. It is an absolutely LOVELY lodge. Can;t wait to go back! read more

Room amenities listed air conditioning....there was no air conditioning. We came back to a room that was 80 degrees at 11pm. We couldn't open the stuck window and the fan on the ceiling was no help . We had to have the doors open and there no screen doors (thanks for the mosquito bites). Come morning we found the blinds don't move. The stick to adjust the blades would not stay attached so we had sun blazing in when we wanted a bit more rest AND no privacy. The shower head was clogged you know the sinks where you wave your hand and you get a mini shower and it not enough to clean your hands? Now try and take a shower with that. We go to breakfast and are told "oh, there might be food left" in middle of it and there is no food left but bagels and cereal no waffles eggs bacon all were empty or gone. Coffee was crappy and served in del taco cups not made for heat and there were no sleeves to help. I expected more for $175 a night because I could of gone down the road for better experience. read more
