This room has 2 windows on one side of the room & patio door to a big deck on other side. In order to get a cool breeze we needed to have the windows and deck door open, but only one of the windows had a screen and no screen on the deck door. I figured out that I could open the window with the screen and the patio door and get a nice cross breeze and no mosquitoes. The other window without a screen should not be opened because it is near a tree, and the mosquitoes came in that one. Bathroom is shared with the room next door, which we knew going in. Was not a problem. I would prefer walking outside to a shared bathroom house, so you know you can take a shower when you need to leave in the morning, but my wife prefers this setup so she doesn't have to walk outside. Breakfast is cold cereal and bananas and coffee and tea. It would be a great improvement if they just added hard boiled eggs. Owners are very friendly and helpful and are there with you when you eat breakfast. Location is excellent, close to Seward harbor and to salmon jumping area. I would give 5 stars if there were eggs and there were screens in both windows.

The pictures make…read moreit look more secluded than it actually is, you have two very large houses on either side of the cabin. I wouldn't quite call the cabin "rustic" as advertised, more out-dated than anything. Worn green carpet and bed frames that reminded me of my late grandmother's house. As mentioned in the previous review, the hot tub did have a strange smell to it of mildew with a splash of chlorine and the water was very murky with bits of plant(?) material floating around in it. Thankfully it was tolerable enough to enjoy with mandatory showers after. The view from the hot tub was gorgeous overlooking Seward at sunset as it snowed. The bathroom has an awesome giant rain shower head that felt great, the drain, however was slow, so there was quite a bit of water left in the bottom of the shower after you were done. The beds were very comfortable and clean, along with the rest of the cabin. You do need to take out your own trash after your stay which we thought was odd. We would consider staying here again during tourist season, maybe the hot tub will be better up-kept.

On the second floor, peaked ceilings (knotty pine in the living room), a large deck, and plenty of comfortable chairs to view the mountain wilderness through over-sized windows. There's even free Wi-Fi to share photos with your social media friends. And did I mention the great mattress on the king-sized bed? *Clean: The bathroom and kitchen are spic and span. The floors are immaculate (leave your boots at the door, please). No dust bunnies hiding anywhere. This is the sort of place you could bring your mother, and feel no guilt. *Caring: during pre-trip planning, Jan responded promptly to e-mail notes. When we arrived a bit early, Sandy greeted us warmly, and let us unload our luggage. There was coffee ready to brew each morning, the refrigerator was full of food, and Jan was sensitive to my wife's gluten-free requirement (by the way, we discovered the local Safeway does have a gluten-free case near the deli). Jan was available each evening, ever helpful but always respecting our space. We enjoyed conversations about the locale, and her 25 years in Alaska. She also helped us stretch our dollars by offering us some coupons, and letting us use the kitchen for some lunches and dinners. We stayed five nights, and found this place to be a quiet retreat, up and out of the tsunami zone, but still close to Seward. Sales tax is less than in town, too. Get yourself to Glacier Creek: you'll like it a lot.

The kitchen had all the basics, including coffee maker and various sweetener options. The 3 bedrooms included one with a king, one with a queen, and one with a full/twin bunk. I'm pretty picky and beds, and found these very comfortable! There's also a fold-up bed and washer/dryer in the hall closet. Only one bathroom, but we made it work! For the price, we were impressed with the size and comfort! There are kid and adult patio chairs, balls, a grill, and fun nick-nacks outside (it was raining so we didn't get get to enjoy them like I wished we could have). Located within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and activities, it was a great place to stay in Seward! I would definitely stay again.

From the location (convenient, beautiful and woodsy) to the ease of checking in and out to the cabin itself - we loved it all! Our place could have easily slept 4 more people, but we had it to ourselves! The bed was very comfortable, the towels were incredibly soft and it was perfectly warm! We especially appreciate the owners as my boyfriend left his very favorite (and expensive) jacket behind and they promptly called him and shipped it to him. We really appreciated that! I would absolutely recommend these adorable cabins to anyone traveling to Seward!!!

It's amazing how much function you can cram into a 14x16 ft space! They slept 4 adults comfortably and had all the modern comforts we needed while giving that feeling of camping in the woods. We even ended up purchasing the same wall heater that they had because it was so efficient and space-saving. The cabins are located an easy walk from Miller's Landing on a quiet side street. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

This summer I came down to Seward for a week off between commercial fishing jobs to relax. Never…read morebeing to Seward before and my trip being pretty last minute, the Alaskan Odyssey was able to work with my schedule and set me up in great room. I had never been to a b&b before, but this will definitely be a high water mark for me. The rooms were nice, the location beautiful, and they set me up with some good places to go around town. And now I'm back here in the winter, and besides the Polar Bear jump day (I did not participate) I've had the place to myself. Unless they're booked, this will always be the place I stay in Seward.
