I like turtles! There are tons of frogs and turtles near the hot springs. Very close to bear lake like on the beach.

Not to mention a dead bird in the window that no one was able to remove for us (despite us asking) and sliding doors that don't lock. We left our rental several days early because it was totally unsuitable and false advertising. They also said they don't have a pool yet so they point you to the community pool, but turns out that has been closed down for years. We're currently working to get a refund on the nights we didn't use (since we left early) and still haven't received a call back. Hoping this review gets some attention from the owners so we don't have to escalate further. Here's just a short list of all the issues we ran into: - Drug deal in front of doorway to the condos - Lake view is a scam - see photos - Dead bird in window (that my 3 year old found) - Sliders don't lock - No community pool as noted in email - Cody's restaurant team was buying/doing drugs right under to our balcony

Will be a wonderful vacation spot when the resort is complete. Unfortunately one of the staff saw our 22 year old son (unbeknownst to us) smoking a 'clove cigarette' on the balcony one morning, resulting in a $336 charge to my credit card. Reviewing the contract, I realized it stated smoking anywhere 'may' result in this fee. I called the manager to explain this wasn't tobacco, we were unaware and would never allow smoking on their premises. I asked for a reduction in the fee to $100 which I would have our son pay for the lesson learned. No one in our family smokes tobacco and we took excellent care of the unit, even avoiding shoes inside. The manager refused, stated I was lying, insisting the unit reeked of smoke, and complaining that we got a great deal on the condo (prior to memorial day opening season at Bear Lake when we were the only visitors, so of course they gave us a deal!), and ultimately offered me $50 off, still resulting in an extra $286 loss to my family. I was happy to pay some portion of the fee for the 'clove cigarette,' but was terribly disappointed in this unfounded accusation and huge added expense for my family.

Our glamping tent was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable, with some of the nicest beds we've slept in while traveling. The tent included both a heater and a fan, giving us options for any weather, although we didn't need either during our stay. The bedding was so comfortable and warm that we slept great throughout the night. The entire property was spotless, including the shower and bathroom facilities, which were always clean and well-maintained. We especially appreciated the thoughtful amenities in the bathhouses, including soap, shampoo, lotion, and hair dryers. The restaurant was excellent, with delicious food and a great atmosphere. The smash burger and Brussels sprouts were both outstanding and some of our favorite meals during our stay. We also loved the camp store, especially having fresh coffee available in the morning. One of the fun surprises was receiving a cute s'mores kit at check-in. It was a thoughtful touch and made our evening campfire even more enjoyable. What really made our stay special was the outstanding customer service. Steve went above and beyond--he came by to light our campfire, asked about our trip, and offered helpful recommendations for places to visit after leaving the ranch. We also noticed him providing the same friendly, personal service to other guests, which says a lot about the hospitality at Conestoga Ranch. There were plenty of activities to enjoy on-site, including free ping-pong tables and video games and air hockey available for a small fee. The ranch also offers a great selection of bicycles, and we enjoyed riding the scenic 5-mile trail to the marina and beach. One thing to note is that the campground is not directly on Bear Lake, but it's just a short distance away. We were treated to a gorgeous sunrise over Bear Lake from the ranch, which was the perfect way to start the day. Beautiful accommodations, excellent food, outstanding service, and a fun, relaxing atmosphere made this one of the highlights of our trip. We would definitely stay here again!

$265 for one night in a dark musty basement…read more I can't speak for the other flats on the other floors, but I honestly don't know how they get away with charging close to $300 a night and calling a dark basement with no windows luxury. The photos online are incredibly deceptive. They make it look like a modern studio flat with plenty of natural light. The truth is that it is in the basement of an early 1900s building with 2 sliver slats of glass. It's dark, it's musty smelling. Also not mentioned on their website is that it is literally spitting distance from a giant mortuary. Now for some, that might be a selling point, but not for us. There were giant cobwebs in the tiny window slats and yes, we did see a giant spider that eluded us and made our "sleep" not restful. Speaking of the bed, not comfortable. Again, this place is advertised as LUXURY. Their words. Not mine. It's fine to call something rustic or industrial, but this room in particular is being sold as something it isn't. The bedding was hot, the bed was a rock, but it does vibrate on command if you are into that. If this place were closer to $100 a night then I could maybe see this being just a weird night and a funny story. But there are other hotels in the area that charge $100 less and offer a free breakfast and you don't have to clean up after yourself. This is not a boutique hotel, it's an Air b&b. Little things: Website says bathrooms are stocked with Aveda products, they were not. Websites says to enjoy complimentary snacks (bottles of arrowhead water and 4 bags of chips) You have to do your own dishes The water pressure is TERRIBLE There wasn't much hot water at night Despite being in the basement it was weirdly hot Whatever they are using to clean was irritating our eyes the entire time. Again, it's one thing to call a spade a spade and charge accordingly. This company is not being honest about these accommodations and they are charging luxury prices. This is a small town in the off season. We booked this room specifically because we wanted to have a nice luxury hotel stay. We aren't rich and this was a stretch for us to afford but again, it was supposed to be a luxury experience. So disappointed. We didn't sleep and we are out almost $300

While the location of the resort is absolutely stunning, and we very much enjoyed visiting the area, we were time and again disappointed in the resort. The following is the list of problems we had with the resort. First, we were unable to get the Wi-Fi to work. So, naturally, we wanted to call maintenance to see if it could be fixed, but the office hours are from 9-5. Frankly, when you are on vacation, you are out of the room usually during those hours - we went skiing everyday, leaving around 8:30 and back about 5:15 and so were never able to call and ask about it. This was a problem since we had planned on using it to pay some bills and buy Christmas gifts on line. We finally received a call Thursday night from Annette who wanted to see how we were doing. She indicated that the wi-fi didn't really work and anyway, no one would be out to restart the router till tuesday of next week - which did not help us at all. She did however send out the maintenance man to help us with our DVD player. He was very prompt and was there is 10 min. The office hours should be changed to evening hours at least. Another frustration we had is that at such a resort with International visitors, there was no cork screw or wine glasses. We bought a cork screw at the gas station which broke after one use, and the subsequent one we exchanged it for broke before any bottle was opened. Annette on Thursday noted that she probably wouldn't have anything like that, however the maintenance man found us one straightaway. I wish I knew his name because he was the most helpful employee. Not in any of the timeshares around the world have we seen no wine glasses or corkscrew. The quality of the pots and pans was also a disappointment, the large stock pot was missing a handle, which made it difficult and dangerous to handle when hot and the frying pan handle was about to fall off. The rear left burner on the stove did not work - and since we like to make gourmet meals for holidays, these things made it difficult. Additionally, the cabinetry in the kitchen was extremely old and needs refurbishing - there should at the very least be shelf paper in them because the glasses stored upside down had residue on the rims from the dirty shelves. Also, there was only the fork part of the salad serving plasticware. The downstairs toilet had a tendency to clog and finally we were unable to use it at all. The downstairs restroom has a ventilation problem and no towel ever dried completely after hung up there. I should mention that this unit is supposed to house 10 people, however, there is only 1 towel rack in each room. Where are those 10 people supposed to hang their towels? Not to mention the lack of hangers in the hall closet for jackets, there are only 4. Additionally, the wall heater in the bathroom did not work and frankly, during a renovation should be removed as it is quite gross looking as well. The front door had a problem with locking. Once it was locked, it was hard to unlock it from the inside. You had to use the key from the outside and the key we were given did not work the deadbolt. Finally, we visited the hot tub on Thursday night and it was a perfect temperature; so on Christmas Eve (Friday) we decided to leave the slopes early to enjoy the hot tub before it got dark. First let me say that going to the hot tub is no small feat in 8 degree weather - since you have to go outside to get there. However, the door was locked and we were unable to enter. In all of the literature it said that the hot tub is open everyday 10am -10pm. So why was it locked? At this point, we were quite fed up with the resort and of course it was after 5pm, so we called the emergency number which apparently is Annette's cell phone number. She said that she wasn't in charge of the pool and there was nothing she could do. What great customer service! We would not hang up until we got something from her, but before that she said it is Christmas for her too. Finally, she relented and said she would try to call whoever was in charge of the pool. Of course nothing happened and on Christmas Day it was still locked and since there is NOTHING open on Christmas, we couldn't even go in the pool to break up our day. Overall, this resort needs a complete renovation badly.

After reporting an issue someone came out and got the Sitting Room/Kitchen one going and said that was the only one the HOA was responsible for. The rest were to be handled by the owner but over Christmas that was unlikely and was not corrected. Other issues bathroom toilet running and bathroom door that would not lock. Issues but overall a great place.
