I was in Sitka for a few days and looking for something different to do. I wanted to go out on the…read morewater so I thought I'd try this tour. Even though I live in Alaska and really didn't know what to expect and rarely go on tours, not sure why now. I met Kenyatta, the captain/tour leader at the dock and after a safety talk we headed out. We traveled for about 45 minutes across the Bay to where he has his crab pots in the water, we were blessed with a beautiful day. The whole way across he pointed out landmarks and had stories about each one. He knew so much about the culture and history of the area, it was fascinating. Upon reaching the buoys marking the pots he maneuvered the boat in a special way to allow him to gather the line safely, the whole time explaining what he was doing and why. We pulled five pots during the trip and he explained the whole process. Each pot had a different batch of crabs, some were mostly females, some mostly males, (I can sex crabs now). He explained why this might have been and why placement is important. One pot had over 25 huge crabs and all males (the only ones crabbers can keep). We reset all the pots with bait and headed back to the dock. I brought my binoculars on the trip and saw lots of wildlife, including a whale. The tour was great, the boat was large and very stable, I never felt queasy. Kenyatta is very knowledgeable and has a great personality adding to an overall fun afternoon. I'd highly recommend the tour and a stop at the crab tent after.

Who knew that whales can be identified by the spots (or lack there of) on their tail? The tour he offers is the complete package; we were able to watch whales in their natural habitat (and sea lion and seals) and enjoyed a delicious crab feast (included with the tour), all at a really reasonable price. The Mac and cheese was delicious as well--would definitely recommend! The salmon chowder, salmon plate and salmon dip were all solid choices too. The kale salad wasn't my favorite. The candied pecans were a nice part of it though and I still finished it. The hummus plate was more of an open sandwich and my parents really liked that.

They were so undercooked that I initially thought they were clumps of unmixed roux. After I had around 5, I realized they were supposed yo be dumplings. I felt the texture was off-putting, but I was so cold outside, I ate the hot soup. I ordered the portobello sandwich. It was good, however the Portobello was not warmed all the way through. It was cooked enough to eat and was well-seasoned so I just ate it. I was also too cold to wait for the kitchen to fix it. The chips served with it were good. While the flavors were solid, I would not return here.

I was transported to the hospital emergency room. I passed out at the airport, therefore I did not make the trip. I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation. This would have been my 9th trip with Angling Unlimited. I have been a loyal returning customer. When I called to see if I could get a credit towards next year I was told that "it is not,our policy". There are exceptions to every policy made. I feel like I've been loyal to them for eight plus years and they would not bend their policy to help me out! If they would have offered a 50% credit, I would have been happy with that. I am so disappointed in their response. I was told that because there was only 3 fishermen on our boat that they couldn't do anything for me, but I know within our group, which had a total of three boats that one of the boats had only 3 fishermen on it. Each fishing group is assigned a hostess to make sure your needs are met. You have a car to use to sightsee, shop or go to dinner after a full day of fishing. The rooms have kitchens and porches have BBQ'S. There's not much, if anything, that they don't provide for you. I can't guarantee that you will catch your limit of fish each day but I can guarantee a great experience...
